That was super cringe since Willow herself never met Tupac!! Willow literally repeated everything her mother Jada told her about Tupac. And then put it all in writing on a letter to Tupac in heaven for the world to see/learn. That is super sketchy and sus!! That letter by Willow is the absolute emasculating public move Jada has done to Will Smith. Sad, just sad!

How totally alone in a crowded room was Chris Rock in that moment? Absolutely no one- not ONE person in that entire room tried to intervene in any way at all. F*ckin awful. I work as a nurse and have been assaulted by patients on two occasions and both times colleagues and other patients stepped in to protect me.
Then the crowd gave Will a standing ovation which was like another slap. 🤦🏽♂️
When you were assaulted by your patients, were you actively making fun of their spouses genetic condition? In which case, it's not right, but definitely understandable.
@iambiggus I didn't refer to whether Will's reaction was understandable. Someone should have intervened regardless- an assault had just occurred. I was commenting on the inaction of the crowd. And no mate I don't go around making jokes about the spouses of my patients and I did nothing to povoke getting assaulted.

This! And I believe it’s from him allowing her to humiliate him for so long not even having the same energy for Tupac and August Alsina that he had for Chris over a joke. She never had alopecia she had a partial face lift and thats the scar it leaves. That slap let us know how weak he is.
Why wasn't he charged? A normal person that laid a finger on someone in an argument would be charged with assault if even a single person saw it. The whole world watched Will assault Chris live on tv.

Same here but Chris lost points with me for not hitting him back. You can’t let someone do that to you and not do anything back. When you let people walk all over you that’s encouraging them to continue doing it. You have to enact consequences for them.

Chris Rock did everything right. He let his fans/family eat Willy's lunch and came back even stronger as a comic. It made me more of a fan when I already loved the guy. Not so much with Prince Willy and his wife Pinky Thin-Skin.

To stay committed to the 'girl who no-one wants to invite on a night out' is a wild level of loyalty. He'd get decimated in the divorce though and get dragged through the media non-stop for 15 months.
Nah, had he had a spine and separated as soon as it was public knowledge she was cheating, he would have gotten all the public support. As it stands most people have lost all respect for him because he seems to have no self respect.
Chris Rock handled this the best it could be handled in the situation. he was in a mild state of shock And yet his pro-stand up comedian reflexes and instincts kicked in and he did a great job of protecting the integrity of the show by making light of the situation. And then... he served that revenge cold! And the final line of his Netflix special magnificently explained why he didn't do anything back. Watch it if you haven't seen it.
It's hard to think in the moment..I think Chris buckled down and tryed to carry on the best he could.

The fact that they allowed Will to give his speech without an apology blew my mind. He didn’t even deserve to win an Oscar for that role. Will had all the chance in the world to address how wrong he was and couldn’t. Dude even complained when Netflix gave Chris rock his own special after.

The only thing to feel sorry about Will for is being in a cucked relationship, his “wife” has openly embarrassed him multiple times, then him slapping Chris Rock was like his Stockholm Syndrome moment by defending what essentially is his abuser. Hollywood was fine with it because they like the idea of “words = violence” in political terms, it’s considered ok to assault someone if they hurt your feelings.

It seemed to me that they're so far away from each other relationship wise that he might of misread her and thought this could get me back in.
I think the most important thing folks overlook here is that this was the most costly slap in history. It cost Smith like hundreds of milions of dollars.

Here's what I don't understand they separated in 2016 she's cheated on him, disrespected him, and admitted that she never wanted to marry him. But Chris Rock makes one harmless joke about her and he'll ruin his whole career when she clearly doesn't love him. I mean for crying out loud she married Will the year after Independence Day made him a household name and now his kids think that they are entitled to his wealth.
