About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

Yes, u are 100% correct and as I watched that wonderful moment I thought ,life is so hectic we tell our grown selfs , I wish I had time to do this and that with my kids...etc yet it truly isn't the time it is the taking of the opportunity to make the time.
You are giving Jonathan immeasurable lessons and courage to try to do tasks you might not know about how to do. This is such a gift to him. You are spending time with him and teaching him important things. Letting him know he can do anything he wants to do. It's beautiful how you help each other. Jonathan is such a good boy. A highlight of my stay was showering in there after a busy day, getting cleaned up and looking forward to a fantastic cooked meal from the angel that is Tracy!! And having a good natter in the family room :-) I have never felt more welcome than I did that week xx

I think it’s entirely likely that Jonathan may never have a ‘job’! By the time he’s an adult he’ll probably be restoring his own projects and selling them on! He’s having a great hands on education; well done to all of you.

Hi everyone,I think the volunteers space is perfect,it’s peaceful with great views & lovely old trees cascading above the Caravans! The amenities block is a great addition 👌 You can always put a table & chairs outside of the fence,at a later date,with a couple of evergreen pot plants at each end of the fence ! Great work Jonathan,for helping Uncle Terry,the fence lights💡 look great🥰 Your learning so much & becoming super helpful 👏🥰 Take care lots of love 🥰💕

I grew up in my grandparents home. The love, attention and guidance they gave has stayed with me all of my life. Watching Terry patiently teaching Jonathan new skills brought back fond memories, knowing very well that Jonathan will forever treasure his childhood. Job well done Jonathan, love to see you doing so much at the Chateau. Looking forward to seeing Rob returning to work his magic on the panelling and woodwork.

It is so wonderful to see Terry teaching Johnathan the ropes of daily Chateau life and I know he takes great pride in being able to assist the older adults. You guys go out of your way to make your helping guests comfortable and that's terrific. I am so excited by the cobbles and word of the tunnel!

What a wonderful way to show appreciation for the volunteers. I just assumed that the caravans each had a bathroom inside, much like an RV since you lived in them for so long before the cottage was livable.
I lived for two years in a caravan! It was great fun, as long as there wasn’t a hurricane around! Then it was all rock n roll! HaHaHa! Amazing how self contained they are these days!

Jonathan is getting so big. It's great seeing him helping where he can. The bath house will be great for not only the volunteers, but also for cleaning up so that you don't drag a bunch of muck into the house.

You are all very hard workers. It’s absolutely wonderful to bring Jonathan along and teach every day skills. Watching him concentrate on drilling to hang the fence lights reminded me of my childhood when I learned to sew on the machine. Sooo much progress y’all made in the last two years.

So proud of him and he's So proud of himself. He practice so hard with his dad to Get better all through the baseball season and it shows. You should keep the campers. I’m sure they are comfortable. I have watched some history of what it was like to live in Victorian or Edwardian times. Found it interesting to watch the woman cook on the open fireplace. Have thought about that hole in the ceiling in the kitchen below. Another thought - to help clear out smoke if the fireplace didn’t draw right or I would imagine it was very hot in there so maybe it helped heat the above space. If you have time give that series a watch. Glad for our time.

you could start at the church and see if they have a passageway thru the tunnel or if they have a map leading over toward your ground.maybe the courthouse or record dept beford you start digging.Just and idea.

Those cobblestones are much bigger than I imagined. Perhaps you could make a pathway with them from the stairs up from the walled garden to the chateau entrance. The tunnel is certainly an interesting thing to know about. What was it for? That might help you find the entrance.

Jonathan has lost some of his "baby face" and he is morphing from cute to handsome, taking after his uncle. Tracy you are amazing laying the tiles in the bathroom shed!! I am intrigued by the idea of a tunnel, Terry, and I hope you find an entrance!! Looking at those cobbles you and your Mum pulled up made me think of my paternal grandfather. We did not get on at all and he passed just before I turned nine. He was a stonemason and I see now how hard he worked as those stones are heavy.
