  • Y'all should have seen him when he was 15. He bowled a sweeper at Forum Bowl in Grand Prairie, TX. He got in all the brackets and won $5,000.00. I was bowling something different there. He was outside waiting for his Mom to pick him up. I said to him, " Your gonna be a star one day!" I knew him from Plano Super Bowl. He, Anthony and Sean Lavery-Spahr use to work there together. Anthony Lavery-Spahr use to work in the Proshop and drill my equipment. I think Dino Castillo owned it but can't remember for sure. The last time I've seen Simo, Who we use to call Little Anthony, I bowled with and against him in a regional in Greenville, TX. He's amazing.

In qualifying I watched Simo throw it straight and fast, medium with a little belly and slow hook the entire lane, all in the same game for like a 240.

You are one of the most fluid bowlers to watch, and I particularly enjoy watching you shoot spares. You are one of the very best one handers. If you keep doing what you are doing, you will probably be very successful when you hit the right matches for your game, oil patterns, equipment, and moves. Unfortunately the prize funds are way too low. Keven has excellent form shooting a basketball.

    @TheLookingOne@TheLookingOne11 ай бұрын

  • Simo is easily tied for my fav 2 hander with Osku Palermaa (ik Osku hasn't won as much as Simo, but I've loved him since the 2014 Japan Cup). He is so accurate, so versatile, and soooooooo entertaining to watch. Like Michael said, he's a mix of Norm, PDW, and Belmo. If I could bowl half as good as Simo, I'd be happy with how far I've come. That being said, I aspire to one day be better than him, so I'm studying this man's every shot

    @ianhoneycutt3858@ianhoneycutt3858 Жыл бұрын
    • You don't realize it..but you are probably at least half as good as Simo. What would Simo bowl in a league with a house shot? 260? 275? He could throw every ball dead flush into the pocket (which he probably would), and he would be some bad-break ring 10, or high flush ring 9's. So he wouldn't average 300. No one can. One tap and you have a 279. 2 taps, and you're looking at possibly 260 or less. Meanwhile, you can probably bowl 140 with your eyes closed. (I am assuming that you are probably a 200+ average bowler). So, there you go. Simo bowls a 279 and you throw a 150, easily better than HALF as good as him, haha.

      @Ironfangzu@Ironfangzu4 ай бұрын
    • @@Ironfangzu While I greatly appreciate the kind words, I beg to differ. I'm not talking about house shots and stuff; anyone can average 230 on a house shot. In an 8 game sport shot tournament, I'd be lucky to shoot 1600. Where as Simo is looking at a minimum of 2000 on a BAD day. I can average 200 on house all I want, but every night I make mistakes: I miss spares, I throw errant shots, I make the wrong adjustments, I ball change after a 230 when I have no reason to (literally happened last night. Game 1 was a 233, and I make a stupid ball change from a UC3 on a house shot to a Gem of all balls, and I shoot 170. Then, after I decide to go back to the UC3, I shoot a 234). Whereas Simo, on the other hand, had a 94% spare accuracy throughout the entire season, which, btw, is better than my DAILY average. He will maybe throw 2-3 bad shots a night, as opposed to my 2-3 bad shots a GAME. So yes, while in theory I am technically "half as good" as him for one game, half as good as him career wise would still mean a major title, and probably about an 80ish% spare game for a season.

  • I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Simo will likely be forced to retire before Belmo is done bowling. Simo gets really low on his shots and parallels his back to the floor even sometimes. This is really bad for a couple of reasons. He puts a lot of force into his swings (which is overall good). However, he doesn't raise up off the shot at the end to relieve the pressure this would otherwise exert on the lower back. This will likely result in serious back pain and potential injury over the years if he doesn't work on that part of his game. The good news is that he's relatively young and fairly short for a man. This will help him overcome some of it, however, the writing is on the wall if he continues this way. I wish him all the best and continued success in the future. Jason Belmonte is obviously the greatest thing to happen to bowling since lane oil. He fathered the style in which Simo uses and has pretty much mastered it. I won't waste the time typing all of Bemo's accolades. However, I doubt there will be anyone else in my lifetime to impact the sport not just in performance and wins but innovation and inventing a style of bowling that's hands down the best performance version of bowling yet.
