And I guess that means ill report you for not letting this person have their freedom of speech think about your actions now.
Except then you are more likely to allow a goal because the other team might will get the puck first or a defenseman might get hurt because you put them in a bad spot along the boards. Spencer knight in his limited action last season allowed 2 goals because he wouldn't play the puck.

Weird NHL is back? Now the season has officially begun.
So now we all know how to get back to the bench quick if we lose a blade, drop to one knee and scoot along.
And get a boost from the goalie, that's very important.

Clutter did a great job in managing it. I wonder if teams will do ~5 minutes of that once a month in practice - turn it into a relay game or something for fun.

As a Lightning fan, I thought Vasilevskiy was just getting off to a kinda rough start. Now I'm convinced that someone has placed some kind of curse on the league's goaltenders because I haven't seen this many goalies in a Weird NHL video in a while.
I think the last time i saw goalies struggle like this was the first week of bubble playoffs.

Are skate blades being held together by needle and threads now?
Is it an unpopular opinion to say a goalie losing his skate blade should stop play in the same vein as when his mask pops or the net comes off? I know the last thing we need are more stoppages but it feels unfair that him and his team have to suffer the consequences of an equipment issue. Especially since at least when skaters lose them there's 4 other guys who can do the same job - 9 out of 10 times when a goalie loses a blade its basically an empty net without the extra skater
Losing the mask is a huge safety risk. The net being the marker for a goal has to be in place. Losing your blade is like losing your stick. You're a lot less useful without it, but you can still do something. Equipment is within your control... choose different gear. Don't want your blade falling off? Get fixed blades. Tired of your sticks blowing up every 50 shots? Stop using high-flex composite shafts.

As a Bruin’s fan, hate me if ya want, what happened to the Duck’s goalie sucks but if they didn’t change the rule after Rask’s incident, it’ll probably never change.
It's been happening with some regularity for a while now. A couple times a year a goalie will lose a skate blade and get really mad, and the refs do nothing about it. They've set a precedent and at least they're being consistent with it. Just sucks when you're the guy letting in a goal because your skate broke.

@@jfmahler yeah, from game to game... i mean, the refs COULD be worse, but there's certainly a lot of unpredictability in what calls will be made.
