Everyone has their football heroes growing up - this guy was mine. I’ll never forget the speed, the power, the pace, the quickness of thought Ronaldo in his prime. All the while he always seems so happy, that buck toothed smile from Brazil was always beaming. He seemed so happy- he enjoyed football. You can keep you pele’s, maradonna’s, messi’s, fake Ronaldos!!! For me the greatest player I ever seen was Ronaldo. The goals, the skill, pace and the sheer power was frightening, but most of all that smile as he was playing . The greatest of all time as far as I’m concerned. My hero

Ronaldo never reached his prime because of injuries, the Ronaldo after knee surgery was a level below the fenomeno we witnessed, at 25 the youngest ballon d'or winner, 2 world cups, 2 copa America, 1 confederation cup , its absolutely absurd to think that players such as messi couldn't accomplish this with a longer career and a prime, that sums up what Ronaldo was at the time not to mention Ronaldo was messis idol.

It's true isn't it. After that 1998 world cup loss and when I saw Ronaldo I realized that something terrible happened. And I was right it destroyed his whole life. Marriage, carrer and his honor and dignity as best in the world. And then 2002, it was unbelievable that he was ready to play, there was skepticism whether he would perform, yet stepped up and scored against every team except England. He cunningly eliminated Turkey in the dying minutes with a magical toe punt. He struck 2 goals against a great German team. No player in the history of football has or will ever do that. No debate.

The way he used to dribble those days like he could take on entire opposition any day. The problem is during the peak age(26) of top players, he already faced two career ending injuries. For me, he is the best footballer that I have ever seen. In post injury period, he was very afraid of fouls and didn’t try to take much risk. If this was pre injury Ronaldo, we would have been many more beautiful solo goals from him.

No. El fué delgado, pero después por una enfermedad creo que tiroides, fue propenso al sobre peso, pero estar delgado no es sinónimo de correr rápido. Las piernas de Ronaldo eran de temer.. La FIFA le aceptaba ciertos medicamentos para controlar el sobrepeso....no fue fácil

The way he used to dribble those days like he could take on entire opposition any day. The problem is during the peak age(26) of top players, he already faced two career ending injuries. For me, he is the best footballer that I have ever seen. In post injury period, he was very afraid of fouls and didn’t try to take much risk. If this was pre injury Ronaldo, we would have been many more beautiful solo goals from him.
