    • Not what I was expecting, I thought the 2.7 Colorado would have cleaned house. Only thing predictable was the Jeep dead last. I thought the Toyota and Ranger would have been close but not even in the same ballpark. You can see Ford knows how to program that 10 speed watch it jump forward every time it shifts next to its opponent. The 10 speed probably has more to do with the win than you’d think.

That alone can offset any power advantage, not to mention Ranger has a little lower rear axle ratio (3.73 vs 3.43 in the GM). Gearing in the 10 speed is similar to the GM 8 speed with a smaller step around 3rd/4th gear in the 10A and an extra OD. Good job Ford in keeping the base Ranger light and plenty quick. The new 2.7 V6 Ranger is probably going to weigh about 150-200 lbs more than base and I'm guessing with a 3.55 axle instead, which will be interesting to see it take on the Colorado.
