  • Me: “Wait... he said he was going to preserve the original graphics. Why would he paint over them?” 🤯 Oh, clear coat! Wow! That was really wild to watch. Fabulous job as usual! Love the videos.

    • In case anyone isn't picking up on the obvious reason for the clearcoat to be white: If it was a clear powder, you wouldn't be able to determine your coverage very easily. With white, you can be sure you've got the clearcoat everywhere.

      @spacewolfcub@spacewolfcub3 жыл бұрын
    • @@spacewolfcub You can see how it works at the 1:49 mark. There are four holes for the ball to go through, all at different heights. The lowest one moves it one notch (10 points), while the highest moves the wheel four notches (40 points). The big wheel also has a piece of metal sticking out between the 90 and the 0, and that piece rotates the smaller wheel that marks 100 points. And it looks like to reset the points to 0, you just turn the wooden knob on the back enough times.

      @snowcat8971@snowcat89713 жыл бұрын
    • @@snowcat8971 - Ohhh... It’s all trickery in the interaction between the points you can score and the notches! Vvv clever. Math is only half the cleverness, though. I must stare at mechanism to learn its secrets (thanks for timestamp).

Now everything from toys to actual cars are built to give away pretty soon so the consumers are caught up in the endless cycle of buying! Heck, even the mobile apps and games and TV shows are subscription models so you're forced to buy again and again so the business keeps on giving!
