Its his grit and high motor
For those who don't know...but Boldin is one of the toughest WR /people of all time. To watch Julian hit him and knock the ball out....two ballerz going at it...
I would say Bolden tripping and falling to the ground while stretching his hand out did more the make the ball come loose than anything Edelman did.
@@jtdesverdad yes, because he was battling with Julian. They were in each other's heads because they are bothe top notch football players...just great ball. I love AB when I was in school at Miami and he was at FSU. Much respect to my man.
@@jimdelarosa9776 besides the run plays an old Bolden had an easy time against Eldeman at DB. Eldeman is an awesome player but Bolden was wide open on that and would have had a big play had he not slipped. I will say Eldeman did well for not being a CB.

@@jtdesverdad first play though Jules hits him a t the line, gets tangled up, and ends up getting in his face like a boss
O.M.G. I knew he played CB in a game… but I didn’t know he was guarding Boldin the whole time. Edelman played damn good imo
We woulda been playing that game if Jacoby Jones never fumbled the opening kickoff
He also played against Vince Young for a bit against the Eagles
In the slot too lmao. Didn't do great but held his own which is impressive.

He played cornerback most of the year! Matthew Slater played safety that year as well. If the defense would've been better that team probably goes undefeated. The offense was virtually unstoppable!

Only Belichick do something like this
Worked out out decently well
Only a b .fan would say that is good
Method to the madness is all I can say
It wasn't the first time, either. I believe he used both Troy Brown and Deion Branch like that in earlier Super Bowl runs.
Remember Vrabel? Catching and blocking?
Dude was out here playing press man too lol
He was definitely impressive but it's not like Anquan Boldin was ever known for his speed in his career which is probably why they had him guarding boldin and not Torrey Smith
Speaking of being GOATED, in Edelman’s 19 career playoff games, HE TALLIED 118 catches for 1,442 yards and seven touchdowns. My guy got more receiving yards an catches in the playoffs then every player in LEAGUE HISTORY not named Jerry Rice and is tied with Michael Irvin & Travis Kelce for the second-most 100-yard games in the postseason with six🤷♂️🐐
Yea cuz he had Tom Brady throwin to him lol
He’s still not a HOF WR …………………………………. Great post season stats tho
Because he’d been in the playoffs more than any receiver because he was on the pats lmao
Yeah that’s all counting stats not efficiency stats. By your logic Shaq is a better shooter than Steph Curry because Shaqs made more free throws
Still not going to the HOF
As a Ravens fan I still have trauma from this game, the dropped TD and the missed FG are so hard to think about
But remember, we did win it all the next year.
It's okay the next year we won and we beat the Patriots in AFC championship so we got our sweet revenge 😈😈😈
Billy Cundiff 😒
@@thecrib4205 I'll raise you Lee Evans.
At least you didn't throw a pick one the 1 yard line when you had Marshawn Lynch
If I had to play a game with 11 of the same guys on the field... I'm going with Edelman. One of the best overall football players you'll ever see. Underappreciated. Some just as tough, but none tougher. Guy had to fight every step of the way in his life, and he did it every time. This is a guy who could never afford to take a day off, because he would have been cut. When Belichick called him when he got drafted, he said "We don't know what you're gonna play... but you can play". Damn straight.
The absolute disrespect boldin must have felt to be covered by another receiver
Julian edleman is a true DAWG and absolute pure athlete through and through
Julian was a work horse. He would do anything they wanted him to do. Go cover one of the most tough WR out there……. YES SIR!
I think Edelman is probably my favorite NFL player of all time. Just such a tough, hardnosed dude.
He also put WR Troy Brown on CB duty in the early 2000’s.
Troy Brown was actually a solid corner....had 3 picks in 2004.
Was looking for this comment
Believe Troy had some ints
Crazy that bill did it late game in a huge game and put him on a good WR and played man.

Edelman is a true gamer to be able to be the best option at corner. Bellichick really had faith in him.
Two very versatile beasts. Boldin also played qb in highschool and had to play a bit at FSU when qb was hurt in bowl game. Edelman also was a qb in college. Just great football players and athletes
Fun Fact: Julian Edelman has a Perfect Career Completion Percentage & Passer Rating %100 6/6 4TDs Rating 158.3
Coach: What position do you play? Edelman: Football.
Dude is a fearless beast. Holy shit. Seahawks fans approval right here. JE was unafraid.
Fun fact: When Julian Edelman lined at CB in this game, it remains the most recent time a white guy played any snaps at corner in the NFL. Not joking. (The last white CB in the NFL was Jason Sehorn in 2004)
Edleman was a hell of an athlete. He didn't even play WR in college. Go look at his college highlights.
Didn’t the Commanders sign a white guy last season

THIS MADE MY DAY
I like this idea of out of position matchups!
For the old timer Giant Fans, this brings back memories of the late Joe Morrison when he played defensive back in a few games.
Sure, it's not the greatest display of coverage ever seen, but we're talking about a guy drafted in the 7th round as a QB covering the other team's starting WR in a conference championship with limited practice, while also playing receiver, punt returner and even rushing once. Dude had a full plate and balled well enough to win.
Imagine how well he could have done had it been the position he grew up playing? Edelman is one of the best athletes the game has seen. He is true utility player like Tayson Hill in that they can play - at an NFL level - all three phases of the game.
I’m a Seahawks fan so my hate for patriots runs deep but it’s so hard not to show respect to Edelman, man’s is just a straight baller and was so underrated
Why? Your hate should go towards your coaching staff for not handing the ball off to Marshawn Lynch on the 2 yard line🤦♂️
Respect!
I seen Billy Cundiff & just put my head down. When he kicked that kick everyone was like ….
Yeah or how about Lee Evans dropping the game winning td 🥲
@@thecrib4205 "Dropping" - the fake media narrative. it was knocked out of his hands by the DB.
The True Ironman 🥶💯‼️🙌🏽
Damn, Flacco kept attacking him too, Edelman held his own for a first time small DB. Bellichick messed up putting him in Man coverage tho, as good as Edelman is don't give him a man-to-man assignment vs one of the most physical WRs at the time lol
Boldin is one of the most physical receivers of all-time, more than just at that time.
He probably figured man would be the simplest though. Ur assignment is literally just go at there and cover this man, as opposed to zone where you have to know when to let ur man loose onto the safety or LB or when to pick up a man etc. Zone is a lot more complicated, even though I do understand your point
The Pats won n bellichieck messed up?? Lmao makes sense
Eh, depends on how familiar Edelman is with zone and how comfortable he is playing it. You don't just want to throw an offensive player into a zone scheme and hope it works, you're gonna get a TON of blown coverages because it's hard to adjust to when you let someone go and when you don't. Man on the other than is dead simple: that's your guy, go cover him.
@@ProvenHueMan when he mess up?
Ravens fans,-" who cares about Eldeman, Lee Evans and Billy Cundiff are all we care about concerning this game. But hey at lease we won the next year ." And that after loss speech by Ray...priceless.

This guy was a stud quarterback in college. A stud receiver and Universal offensive tool. Oh, you want me to return some kicks? Oh, you want me to play cornerback against a top receiver type? Yes coach, I got ya!
What a run that was! Flaco was possessed.
Anybody can play on our Defense. We know all the Plays💯
He really went stupid 💪🏽
Awesome never knew of this
Edelman is an athlete. NFL athletes are real versatile athletically. I don't remember this, pretty cool.
Love edelman.mqde great plays
JE is a HoF'er. Originally a QB, when turned WR for the GOAT (and an amazing weapon). Remember that flea flicker to Amendola back in 2015? That catch in Superbowl LI? A little part of my Patriot heart is still hoping he's gonna show up in Tampa for a last hurrah with TB12 and Gronk. But what a show its been.
He’s good and I think he is a HOF WR, but that catch is a bad example. Skill mixed with mostly luck. That could have happened to anyone.
Hall of pretty good but not as HOF lol
I love belicheck
On anquan boldin none the less. People forget how good he was
that Jules was out there on defense at crunch time in one of the most signifigant games in Patriots history says a lot about his versatility as a football player.
He pulled one of coach Youst from Remember the Titans moves when he took Petey from RB & made him a linebacker.
in an alternate universe, Edelman made a goal line-INT in the final seconds to win SB 46
I still can't believe this NE roster actually got to the SB lol
No worse than 2018 patriots.
Bill was like, I’m not paying to activate someone off the practice squad…

Seeing Billy Cundiff wearing sweat pants over his uniform pants while warming up really drives me up a wall

I like how he play the CB doe. Looks good to me.
Do you know how I know you're not really Randy Moss? Because anyone who makes more than $10 an hour doesn't say doe. So I'm guessing you're some kind of teenager who's trying to be cool but doesn't realize that talking like you have autism doesn't make you cool unless you hang out with other people with autism. That's fucking unbelievable. How the hell did this not get 10x as much attention? Romo would have done it justice.
One thing that I have noticed about Belichik is that he is not afraid to mix things up.In one Patriots game,Brown was on defense.A pass attempt to Brady in the second Super Bowl against the Eagles.A pass to a defensive player while the Patriots are on offense.
Vrabel caught many TDs lol
Bro played man every play
Belichick: 'Every man do your job.' You got a uniform? Earn your pay.
This get him into the hall
Damn forgot he was guarding bolden… the balls on that guy man
This makes me remember that play this past season where the ravens went for it because Humphrey was hurt. All those receiver tha barely play like Wallace couldn’t get in?
Edelman locked him up
Edelman is just a football player, straight up, definitely see a great white CB that never happened
Is this the game where the Ravens kicker missed an easy chipshot field goal at the end? I vaguely remember the Patriots getting to the Super Bowl one year where the Ravens missed like a 30 yarder at the end of the 4th quarter of the AFC Championship that would have either tied or put the Ravens ahead.
Julian Edelman is a beast!
That last hit would get flagged for targeting now
I had a 12 shirt in my hands and bought the 11 instead. TB12 and JE11 are the same to me.
Ayo Edlenut you better not let Boldin punk you - Randy Moss probably
He played CB against Bolden and he traveled with him. That’s pretty impressive.
Ive had the idea recently of wanting to see D.K. play safety Or outside LB.
I love how they zoom in like he's not the only white guy playing coverage
Who remembers when he did the same with WR Tim Brown back n the day?
I cried this game …angry as hell
Honestly, Edelman played corner slightly better than Zeke Elliott played center last year on the final play.
That final tackle. What a dog.
Troy Brown did same in early 2000s. Fd up his pay. He actually had a few INTs.
Edelman is a very underrated athlete
good ol roger been gaming the superbowl for years
So he allowed some long catches and Baltimore moves int9 FG range. Great Idea Bill!
He should be in the hall of Fame for that
