I dont think dagestan will survive tho if they go independent. The idea is good but in reality, we're not sure if they can sustain themselves independently. But with Donbas - Donetsk and Lohansk tho, its different. Because of Ukraine tyranni and shelling/bombing for almost 8years, these two deserves to be saved from the Nazi. Russia is not a country of Russians. It has many republics. One of them is Dagestan, where Khabib was born. In the Soviet Union, one of the republics was Ukraine. Also, Georgia and Chechnya border Dagestan. You probably know what happened in these two. In the Russian language, there are two words of Russian (in English, it's only one): русский - Russian ethnicity and россиянин - a citizen of the Russian Federation.

As Chief Joseph once said, it does not require many words to speak the truth. The man has real character. I've never heard anyone take down fake patriots so quickly and eloquently. Why do you have to cling to someone else’s achievements instead of working on your own ? You didn’t get to choose whichever country you were born in.
Some people have personal as well as collective pride, so not all of the collective pride people are insecure. Some just have more types of pride.
People are proud of their culture, they are proud to form part of the culture. They are also thankful for making it to the places they make it, and wearing a flag is their way of thanking their culture - their people, their customs, their way of living, and so on. I think wearing one's flag is the most beautiful thing a human being can do; don't misunderstand: the flag does not represent a government or a group of individuals, it represents the positivity, the culture and altruism of the people.
