I love how the Dark Knights have just one aspect of the Batman proper mixed improperly. Love for Alfred, paranoia, will to save, hatred of criminals, trauma of losing his parents, desire to work above the law with his own rules, just one aspect that manifested too strongly and turned him wrong

I feel like the Devastator Batman wasnt entirely evil, but rather was a product of whatever happened with their superman
What's really “evil” at the end of the day? To me Red Death also wanted to save everyone in the first place just like the Drown and the Devastator. And the other Batmen just lost their mind but didn't choose to become like this, they were made this way by the harshness of life, it's just a mental illness, that's called sociopathy and it started the knight Bruce's parents died. I mean, regular Batman is already pretty much a sociopath himself.

The ending would be worth it because the way the main justice league get revenge against the overrated evil Batmen is amazing. The dark knights got steamrolled punched a slammed into pieces and decimated by the justice league. Devastator gets killed easily as well.

@@maddogkilla1 it seems like the Alfred program was made with a goal, to keep Bruce Wayne safe. After they launched the program, it found the most logical way of keeping Bruce safe. By killing every villain and thugs Batman fights, Bruce would in turn, would not have to enter any kind of combat that could result in injuries. I believe that is also why the program made Bruce into a machine, it does not feel pain, easy to repair, etc.

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES Servings: 4 dozen cookies Ingredients 2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Baking Chips (contains milk) 1 cup butter or margarine, softened 3/4 cup sugar 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed 2 large eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 1/4 cups unsifted flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped (optional) Directions Heat oven to 375ºF. Stir flour with baking soda and salt; set aside. In large mixing bowl, beat butter with sugar and brown sugar at medium speed until creamy and lightened in color. Add eggs and vanilla, one at a time. Mix on low speed until incorporated. Gradually blend dry mixture into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Drop by tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Note: The 2 cups of Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips can be substituted with any variety of chip flavor (i.e.- Milk Chocolate Chips, 60% Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate Chips, etc.)

for those wondering the main reason the grim knight joined the batman who laughs is cause apparently gordon was able to completely wreck and expose his bruce which made it so his only real choice was to run to another universe. also the grim knight killed the red hood at the chemical plant preventing joker from happening in his universe and he also tortured harvey to get wayne tech to have complete surveillance and control of gotham which led to gordon being able to find out he was fully bruce and properly expose him and have him arrested
this whole series really puts into perspective how Batman is teetering merely *INCHES* away from the edge, with only his moral code keeping him in check. if he were to give in to his inner demons, then God help us all... thankfully he's just a fictional character though, so there's that. also, I think these are the greatest Elseworlds stories that never were. but the brevity of each hits harder than a full blown story would.
To be fair in the dark multiverse nothing can go right, no matter what someone dose they can’t change the fact that the universe will end in a terrible way

I think out of all the evil batmans, my favorites are The Drowned, The Merciless, Dawnbreaker, and The Devastator. Mostly because on the other ones, I already know what their counterparts are, but these guys, are my introductions on what their counterparts might be.

I think its devastator, having the powers of DoomsDay allows him to regenerate and be immune to anything that killed it the 1st time. By theory Devastator can get him. I enjoy these and re-read them often. One problem I have though I feel they were slimmed down stories. I would have happily bought a 100 plus page book for each of them. One issue is the Merciless story for instance. Amanda Waller has been shown to have plans on plans on plans, and at least 3 Super teams designed to impair, match or overpower the Justice League and she goes along with the just throw a bomb at it plan....

It's been said more than a few times, but I like how each one corresponds to a fear, shame, or importance to the Caped Crusader we know: Batman Who Laughs: Fear that in his efforts to defeat the Joker, he'll become something just as bad if not worse, and shame over his inability to find a way to stop the Joker without ending his life. Devastator: Fear of Superman going rogue, how important their friendship is, and shame over the fact he can't fully trust the Man of Steel to always and forever be on the up and up. Merciless: Fear that if he were to kill for any reason, he'd devolve into a mindless butcher who kills anyone and everyone indiscriminately, the importance of how Wonder Woman helps him see the good in others, and shame that since he never kills and thus his foes always come back, his war on crime can never be truly over. Red Death: Fear of not being fast enough to save the people he loves, shame over those he couldn't save(IE Jason Todd), and deep down fear of getting old and that impeding his ability to effectively fight crime. Dawnbreaker: Fear of getting superpowers and letting it go to his head, the importance of his adult discipline, like Merciless fear that if he were to kill for any reason at any time he'd become a bloodthirsty monster, and shame over his inability to get past losing his parents. Murder Machine: Fear of losing Alfred and how important their relationship is, fear of losing his humanity, and shame over his over reliance on technology and that 's not as self-sufficient as he may say. Drowned: Fear of metahumans, his shame in that fear, and going too far against metahuman adversaries, fear of losing himself to vengeance, how important his relationship to Catwoman is, and shame over how hard a time he had with trusting other people. Interestingly enough the way the guardian implied that the darkness would consume all and that it was a protocol suggests that they had made it as a contingency but one that was a last resort not a main use... After all any green lantern knows of the meaning behind Darkest night.... but what about brightest day? Well since the black light entity is nothing but the absence of life then to kill the white light entity you must use the black light.... but not be consumed by the black lantern.... making this technically the only viable way a living person could use black light
