Craig's show was the opposite of something like Fallon or Corden. He just has an organic, free-wheeling conversation with his guest, who he treats like a normal human being not a celebrity just there to promote a movie, answer some canned questions, and play some moronic game. This is why we love podcasts, a good conversation is one of the most enjoyable things in the world.

The first time I saw his show was when I was laying in a hospital bed after almost dying (Literally) from Pneumonia in 2006. I couldn't sleep (Imagine that in a hospital!), and I turned on my TV, and there was Mr. Ferguson. He was REALLY funny, and I was a fan ever since. I DO miss his show, AND the never ending parade of gorgeous admiring girls . At least I had a private room, and could tune in his show without someone complaining. I have MUCH to be thankful for. The Dr's saved my life, and Craig saved my sanity!
@johnschick58273 жыл бұрын
I had a similar story, I was admitted to the hospital for pneumonia, on the X-rays my right ling was completely white and my left lung was 50% white. As the time I was ignorant on the dangers of pneumonia until a nurse put her hands on my shoulder and said "Its ok hun, you are young you should beat this." For the first 4 days they were taking my vitals every hour, scary times. How have you been since? Every time I get the flu since my bout with pneumonia it goes right to my lungs and I get bronchitis.

He was done with it. He claims to have wanted to do other things. He said he was going to announce his retirement from the show at one point but then Letterman announced his plan and he waited. I have no doubt CBS likely offered him Letterman’s chair but that would have required at least another ten year commitment and maybe longer. And he clearly seems to not have been interested in committing for that long. He tours a lot doing standup, he’s done some great game shows and his podcasts have been great too. I could see him doing another talk show down the road or a sitcom, but it wouldn’t be large scale. I don’t think he’d ever want to be large scale in a Letterman Leno kinda vein if that makes sense.

If I had a network and Craig Ferguson was on it, I would let him go free range, he's one of those people who attract a large audience that intentionally make sure they are home when his show comes on. I hate network executives who find talent because they are good, then try to reshape them so they can get the credit. The guests feel pretty comfortable with him as well. and the movie Saving Grace was another winner thanks in no small part to Craig. Other late night shows are like bad clones, genetically drifting a bit each time one pops up. copying the copy of the copy etc. Craig never insults your intelligence like most shows do.

If you like Craig you'll like Graham Norton. He is a great host & his guests always have a great time. It feels like a reallyfunny gossip with your gay best friend.
@@sarahholland2600 I like Graham’s conversational style, but not his prank/insulting segments, where he dunks people in water when they speak using their own accent, which he mocks.
@@sarahholland2600 it's funny, I came here to say the exact same thing. They're both very quick, and disarming for their guests! Norton has a wicked sense of comic timing.
@@rickylumo8666 Who's insulting, prank bits? Norton's or Ferguson's? I can't picture either.
@@carlwilliams6977 thanks, I edited my comment to be clearer . . .
Uma’s laugh is the best.
Most annoying thing about the whole thing
❤❤ Uma is easily the hottest, sexiest, gorgeous and most attractive guest ever. Stunning. Drop dead incredibly breathtakingly symmetrically girl ever. Holy smokes, what a smoke show
This guy has the touch like no other.
Every time I get the flu since my bout with pneumonia it goes right to my lungs and I get bronchitis.
nice story, craig is the best for me
I had my favorite female artist of all time recorded on my hard drive, Fiona Apple. From her one appearance on Craig's show. Then my hard drive died. I didn't cry. But I wanted to. I have never seen a 1080p version of it since. And I looked everywhere. Best I have seen is a 640p version. So sad. She was wearing a green dress, and she even gave a good interview. Even though she sucks at interviews.
I guess you were pretty schick huh... hope you feeling better now
She's delightful. A whip smart, quick witted person with a lovely giggle.
I don't know why I thought she would be a stiff. She's charming.
She’s a He
I've never seen her interviewed till now, but I had a feeling she'd be cool and she definitely is...very fun chill chick
Uma’s got the best giggle.
I would rather watch his reruns than any of the UNFUNNY late night shows currently on today!
I miss Craig. Been doing the same
Facts.
At least we have 9+ years of material. Pretty good if you ask me.
The sorriest funnyman I've ever come by
I haven't watched a late night show in years because they're just all complete trash now. .even if there was absolutely nothing else on TV at that time, I'd watch youtube or a movie or something... literally anything is better than that crap they call late night shows
She's quick, an extremely confident, handled everything he threw at her right back at him.
What do i know, but that seems defensive and insecure to me, because she didn't want to open up to him. I think she was up tight.
@@jacksak or thats who she IS
@@LeMerch now now you two, could be either or. I think it's hard to tell from just this, and for what it's worth I think she was sincerely just being fun and confident as best she could. If I had to guess, that kinda of thing might not come naturally to her, and it doesn't for most of humanity so no problem if that's the case, but I don't think she was being defensive/insecure. I've never seen her be more open and present really, though I haven't seen that many interviews/things with her She was fun though, and like other people have mentioned, reruns of this are vastly preferable to the "get a vaccine or else, agree with us or you're a racist, vote democrat or you're literally hitler" party line bs that gets shoveled at our faces with the other guys. Which is a shame cuz I like stephen colbert. But eeeeeesh
I always thought she was a bit cold but I was wrong. She's pretty cool. She talks with Craig like a friend and she loves to laugh. I like her.
I love his style. He makes everyone feel like they're at home on the couch and just chatting.
That's the greatness of Mr. Ferguson
Both Uma & Craig deserve way more credit & respect two very intelligent souls riding time well spent❤
Love ya and thanks for noticing my input . LoL at the very least there are 2 humans who agree on somrhin
Wow! Uma Thurman looks better than she ever did before! 😍😍
i really miss this show. craig was the best host on night time tv. CBS really dropped the ball.
What a classy lady Uma is! She seems like the nice lady at the front desk, not some Hollywood super star!
Two of my favorite wishfully nymphomaniacs!
wow what a dame! a lot of personality behind that beauty. makes her even more beautiful.
Man, I cannot get enough of Mr. Ferguson's show, any hints of negative thoughts are instantly dispersed. "We had some Australians in earlier", "I can follow the party line", LOL.
She's lovely. It makes me mad to think of directors and producers mistreating her and other actresses.
She's awesome.
He is so spontaneous and always seems to bring the best out of his guest.
I just love her personality.
Craig is the only late night talk show host that is in Carson's league.
Opening with contagious. Uma blushed because he was not doing well.
Her laugh is adorable
We need this guy back, no one can touch this guy, besides Johnny Carson.
I agree, Gary. Also, Johnny- what a loss..
Dick cavett
@@jgvtc559 not even close. Letterman and Graham are better then Cavett.
If only we can bring Steve Allen back.
dude really knows how to get the best reactions from women.
Interesting interview. Lovely dress. Her laugh is wonderful. Thank you for posting. She has a quick wit.
Uma with the amazing personality and acting skills!
Uma Thurman is really something!!
This show never stops amusing me
He's so good at keeping the convo going with nervous movie stars. Really he's amazing with probably anyone.
Uma is such a charming and witty woman. Wow 😊
And so I must say, Uma Thurman is spectacular, as-well she looks FANTASTIC!!! Awkward interview, discombobbled but fun, and wonderful to see her after all this time. I think she's aging backward! Getting younger rather-than older. Thanks for bringing her SHINE back to life. Cheers mate! 6.23.2021 I was here with you's
This interview was in 2014 I believe, and she's only grown even more beautiful since then. Here she is in 2019: kzhead.info/sun/pdp6pNh_hqWPiY0/bejne.html
Loved that interview! Craig’s a genius entertainer and I’m still looking for my Uma!
This was so entertaining! Wow, I didn't know Uma was so charming and she's fast as a whip! I really enjoyed how the conversation took on such an improvisational energy, they really flowed with each other, and it was nice to see them engage outside of a scripted format. This was special, I've always been a fan of Uma's but I've seen scarcely anything of her outside of cinematic features, so thanks for posting, I appreciate this one especially.
it’s kinda funny she picks the awkward pause, when that was the bit in the diner in Pulp Fiction.
It’s like a fencing match where neither opponent seems to score a point.
This felt like watching a date between two people who have zero in common.
she was very reluctant to share anything personal whatsoever.
ya her appearance walking out, it looked like she was wearing a nuns robe n then the closed off personality kinda sold it.
really?? it was good. maybe she just regretted being a part of nymphomaniac.
also, Craig relied on the flirtacious availability of his lady guests to showcase his personality as a host on this show. Uma was a more serious, albeit sincerely pleasant, kind of lady at this point.
Ferguson needs more skills as flirting is not enough.
Gosh, she's lovely...
I could have never watched this live...while I was asleep. Thank God for digital copies! Wicked funny!
I rather have Craig Ferguson back than those other three numb nuts on the late shows
Yes! And by a long shot too, loved him in Saving Grace, the movie where they all sit outside the pub waiting for the grow lights so come on. More than a couple of laughs there.
The three Dumbo's are political pawns, it's cringy. Did you see Kimmel promote Hunter Biden's drug addiction? What if it was Trump or some other who the media hates hehe.
Please please....oh please!
Uma's a living doll !
I've been in Luv with Uma since the first time I ever laid eyes on her & she has the best personality that meshes well with Craig!
Great interview and lighthearted, gentile chemistry. So fun.
Uma is absolutely delightful!
Love the Uma sum up, "Made entirely of elements of beautiful."
Stop taking dope
She has a cool laugh. :)
It sounds like a cold engine trying to start up. Eeeeeeehehehehehe Eeeehehehehe Eehehehehehihihihe- he-he- (give it some gas)he-heeeeeeeeee
@@olesams Great... Now you've flooded it.
She has indeed!
The word "contrived" comes to my mind.
Yeah I love her laugh it sounds very giggly if that makes any sense
I think Uma is the only one who defeated Craig at his own game.
Sandra Bullock.
THEY BOTH KICKED HIS ASS,VERY FUNNY.
Agreed!
True.
I think it is because Craig was sick here.
I like Uma Thurman, great interview, wow, wish Craig still had this show, not good without him...
Awesome chemistry between them. I like her playing along with his jokes. It was genuine sympathy and subtle sexual tension, just fun to see them interact. Dude's a player and has an addictive masculine energy but never awkward or creepy. Perfect for classy women who have a sense of humor and aren't easily offended.
There was zero sexual tension there whatsoever, but she does seem amused by him &enjoys his company
Yeah no sexual tension at all lol..
@@cloudhigh6582 no none. just friendly fun vibes. unless youre one of those Craig stanboys who thinks EVERY single woman he interviews is falling head over heels leaving damp spots in the seat 💀
@@o-wolf I was agreeing with you haha. There is clearly no sexual tension at all and I was pointing out that it's bizarre to even think that lol.
@@cloudhigh6582 my bad. my bad.. I read sarcasm into stuff a little toomuch sometimes

Some people think it's fake but I think it's cute lol. Very funny laugh
she has a pleasant warm and deep laughter...
I like how she's really engaging him. cool woman. craig rulez the universe!
If you have seen the movie you will appreciate and understand the brilliance of this interview way way much better
Love Craig Uma is so nice here… diplomatic in fact, despite her initially apparent confusion as to how this was supposed to be a “talk show” in the classical sense. She did seem to warm up to him nicely.
She seemed kind of nervous initially. Craig is so good at making people relax.
Yeah she was. Her body language was very hesitant.
Uma is really lovely. Seems very normal for a star. Refreshing.❤
I love Uma!
This group therapy session was very helpful and beneficial to my well-being. Thank you, doctors.
The sexiest woman in Hollywood for the better part of two decades. Beautiful and smart.
And still gorgeous at 50
I miss this guy, so much!
Simply elegant, always was always will be. And Uma... the same goes for you. ♥
The difference about Craig and the rest of the hosts. Is that he haven't a script to talk with his guests. He improvise and just talk with them.
Uma ages like a good red wine.
12:30 He followed her lead. His awkward pause morphed into his Buster Keaton impression. Me: "You're welcome five people".
The bashful tie thing was totally Charlie Chaplin.
@@seanferguson5460 Or Stan Laurel
@@stephenschroeder6567 You're right! Didn't make that connection.
love her laugh
Another wonderful interview. Craig is great! So is Uma!
Uma Thurman could quite possibly be the ultimate/ideal talk show guest.
Craig ferguson is probably the only talk show since rosie o'donnell who seems genuinely interested in conversing with his interviewees
Awesome rare interview and loved the Von Trier references :D haha 'You're welcome five people' haha
Her daughter Maya Hawke (Stranger Things S3) looks and sounds so much like her mother. So cool!
That was really entertaining. I enjoy them both.
Uma Thurman is an absolute jewel of a lady😍
Fantastic.
This is like between two ferns but on steroids with a person you haven’t seen in 20 years but you were intimate with.
6:41 "Someone just won the cheese contest." Amazingly quick-witted response.
What did she mean by that?
A little fact that most people don't know.....Uma is the one that came up with the whole concept for Kill Bill and she pitched it to Tarentino.....smart girl!
I read all she said was a "vengeful bride" and Tarantino did the rest.
Broke; could be...I just heard Tarantino (in a rare moment of humility) say in an interview that Uma came up with the concept; Well, she sure is subdued in this little visit; I don't think Craig knew how to get her to laugh or talk!
In the credits of Kill Bill 1 and 2 it says "Based on The Bride by Q and U" or something like that as well. The interview I heard where Uma was talking about it she made it sound like they were just throwing ideas back and forth (on set of Pulp Fiction I believe) and just randomly discussed a bride getting revenge but that was about all there was. Unless she is just being modest lol
Thriller : A Cruel Picture (1973) was also something Tarantino was inspired by while making Kill Bill
@Levi Langershank So true! Thats a great name; sounds like a special cut of meat; I'll have the Langershank please....
Uma: beauty, charme, sophisticated sensuality, sympathy, disarming smile.
One of the best awkward pauses EVER! LOL
I want a video of awkward pauses. JayLenoFly get on this my friend
he went deeeeep in this one, respect
If I had a network and Craig Ferguson was on it, I would let him go free range, he's one of those people who attract a large audience that intentionally make sure they are home when his show comes on. I hate network executives who find talent because they are good, then try to reshape them so they can get the credit. The guests feel pretty comfortable with him as well. and the movie Saving Grace was another winner thanks in no small part to Craig. Other late night shows are like bad clones, genetically drifting a bit each time one pops up. copying the copy of the copy etc. Craig never insults your intelligence like most shows do.
I thought the interview went well. I suspect the fact that ahe was only there once had nothing to do with their interaction. She is smart and funny in her own right and I thought there was mutual respect between them. I would have liked to see her on the show a few more times.
That outro man!!!! that was uhlala awesome.
Johnny and Craig were the kings of the late night talk shows.
She seems to have sort of minimal makeup here and still looks nice. She has a very striking look all her own. I thought she looked great in Kill Bill. I've seen people criticize her looks but I think she's very attractive.
wow, uma thurman is epic!!!
Miss your show, Craig!
she is very charming.
She ran that show
I'd bet my life he quit and walked away because he knew what was coming. I never would've recognized Uma Thurman in this show. She looks so different vs. others I've seen.
She's great!!
she's witty, reserved and brilliant at small talk.
No she aint.... she is not witty and she is terrible at small talk... also it oxymoronic to say she is "reserved and brilliant at small talk" she cannot be both
Dion Santana you don't know what I'm doing talking about and I won't explain it to you anyway. I like what she gives here.
she is witty; very good at small talk. I'm almost certain Dion wouldn't be able to have a conversation with me. And probably wouldn't want to; of course, the feeling would be mutual. Bye Dion, have a nice life.
lol bye felicia
Ruby3Y3 yeah. celebrities dont come on talk shows cause they want to. its usually on a contract so they have to
I like how she kind of laughs like Tarantino.
