  • I am of the American Indigenous people, the Ojibwe tribe & the Arikara tribe. I can feel the warrior blood in me just raise up to find strength everytime I see Haka! My eyes tear up knowing that traditions were not lost for Haka to still be practiced when colonial forces tried to kill off powerful cultures & traditions from around the world. We are all one people with different traditions, no one is better than another.

    • Our ancestors fought back against the crown they didn’t exactly beat the Māori wars were won and lost from both sides the crown is just lucky the Māori didn’t unite under one banner as the crown only fought against tribes and the Māori still gave them a run for their money they needed a treaty to stop us.. it’s not just the haka that were saved our culture is very much alive today our language and traditions still live on we have schools in full Māori we have universities with Māori studies we have political seats in parliament etc the white man can never break us

It's such a boost to the inner strength mentally and physically. As if it awakens who we are. Our own believe in ourselves collectively. Beautiful culture. Extraordinary coordination. And the most remarkable thing is each one of them knows about it in their team and so much clarity in their own cultural knowledge. Beautiful ❤️
