I love this song, too. Gloria. Originally, I hoped it would have a happy ending... even with the sad tune. Unfulfilled dreams... lovers that cannot remain together... sad. We know the love stories of Mark Antony and Cleopatra, Napoleon and Josephine, Pierre Curie and Maria Skladovskaya. However, we often forget that our Kazakh steppe has many touching stories. On Valentine's Day, TengriMIX tells you one of them-the story of estaya and Korlan. Estai Berkimbayev is a Kazakh akin and composer, originally from the Pavlodar region. As a child, he became interested in music, and by his youth his fame had spread across the steppe. Once akyn was asked to accompany the son of one of the bais to the village of Maraldy, where the latter's fiancee lived. The story goes that it was in 1894. During the festivities, Estai, then a 20-year-old boy, met Kusni and Korlygayyn, who was affectionately called Korlan. They were the daughters of a rich Biya from the Kipchak family and were famous for their beauty. The older one, Corlan, liked the folk singer very much, and his feelings were mutual. Despite the fact that their villages were separated by 400 kilometers, the young people found the opportunity to meet in secret. In this they were helped by Kusni. Secretly, because the girl was engaged as the younger wife of a rich man. With the consent of the beloved, Estai was going to steal it. However, upon learning of his plan, the girl's enraged father quickly married her off. Corlan could not go against her father's wishes and resigned herself to her fate. Later, she became a mother of four children, but continued to love akyn until her death in the 30s of the last century. Estai also carried the love for this woman through his life. The only memory of his beloved for him was the ring she gave him, which he never parted from. Akyn's wife, whom he greatly respected, often suffered because of her husband's first love. A contemporary of Yestai named Zhumakhan told his student, the singer Karim Baimuratov, that once during a visit to the folk performer, Yestai's wife addressed him: "I Am so tired, he is mourning his Korlan from morning to evening, take him, take him to this Korlan!" But Estai could not help it - the love of youth was so strong. He dedicated many songs to Corlan, the most famous of which is "Bite Corlan". "As a 67-year-old man, Yestai excitedly performed "Korlan". Taking up the dombra, he was silent for a long time, gazing thoughtfully into the distance, sighing, wiping away the tears that had gathered, and only then began to play. He pulled the dombra strings weakly, which made the sound low, sad, and hollow. From his song breathed a deep antiquity, a tale of true, tried love. A large gold ring glittered on the ring finger of the singer's right hand. When he had finished the song, he looked at this ring as if it were a sacred talisman, and said: "Yes, my dear ones, this ring is a witness of those happy days.
