Idli Amma | A Short Film
An 85-year-old woman from small village of Tamil Nadu, starts feeding Idlis to migrant workers and needy people around for just 1 rupee (USD .012$). Her enthusiasm and dedication is such that this cycle continues for 25 years. But in 25 years, for the first time Amma's Idli campaign has been challenged due to corona lock-down.

Only in India!!!!! Even those that came to her were workers and had dignity. Some organisations make a living helping the poor. The fat salaries they take home, reminds them that they stepped not there for the compassion but to control the weak and keep that system thriving. This is genuine love and compassion. That is why I salute those people who have maids, gardeners, gate keepers, chauffeurs, janitors as they are treated like part of the family.

It is amazing that those who don't have much and are so poor are willing to help others without expecting anything in return. Here we see, Amma, who is literally dirt poor and yet she sacrifices her time, love and with courage she continues to feed so many people and changing their lives!! Rich people, who have bank accounts that are overflowing with money, do help but not as much as those who have nothing to give. Food and shelter are the basic things we need to survive. I am so glad I got to watch this. Long live Amma! These are the stories that should be taught in schools. There are so many like Amma, that are hardly known by their terrific deeds.
