Golden Retriever Meets Puppies for the First Time
Hey guys, these cute little puppies are not our new dogs! Once we, driving along the road familiar to us, we found them without their mother wandering along the highway. We could not leave them, as most likely they would have suffered from car wheels. They will live temporarily with us until we find a new home for them and a family to take care of them. You can see that Bailey starts whimpering and barking when the puppies start to get too close to the edge of the bed. Bailey just met those puppies but is already protective of them. What a wonderful thing to see!

Did you notice it wasn't until after he barked, they knew who he was and how happy they were to see him. We miss so much with animals. There's a love there and we miss it often.

she is definitely not happy, she is overloaded. her tail swings to the left hand side which does not mean any good and her body is really tense. it would have been better to introduce her to the puppies and not the other way around.

If dogs are able to look directly into each other's eyes, they don't know that there is a size difference. My Dachshund Bella met my sister's Chow & Great Pyranees dogs as she stood on couch. Nobody had big dog/small dog issues

My Golden Retriver reacted the same way to... guinea pigs. When we brought them home and showed them to her we were very careful, because we didnt know how she would react, but that fear was pointless. She was so friendly and gentle! She even spent first few weeks "guarding" their cage at least few hours a day.

My dog was fascinated by my sister's guines pig when we looked after it for a week, but he also peed on the bed, I assume, to mark his territory
To me, the puppies' tails wagging seems to show how pure and innocent they are by default. No fear. No aggression. Just ready and eager curiosity and undiluted natural joy. My heart has been nourished! ❤️

I don’t think Golden Retrievers can ever been in a bad mood. They’re the epitome of a family, friendly, dog.
LOOL, hate to say, ive come across a golden retriever that with no provocation from myself or my dog, would go right into growling and bare their teeth at me and my dog. dont be mistaken by the portrayal of the breed from media like air bud etc, all dogs have the capacity to be aggressive if left untrained. some dogs are much much easier to establish the hierarchy within the home and instill overall good behaviour that would eliminate aggression, this breed would be one of those "easier to train" 🙏💙👍

That distinction goes to the Chinese Crested, who thinks he's a kid forever. I've seen Golden Retrievers who get irritable.
nothing against the breed, actually one of my favorites for the family friendliness they are known for. i just want it this notion of associating breeds with specif behaviors to be taken with a grain of salt, ive seen pit bulls more well trained than GRetrievers, a dogs demeanour towards other dogs and people, in my opinion, is like 99% based on that dogs interactions with people and other dogs in its earlier years of life which are SOLELY facilitated by the owner of the animal, training training training🤷♂️ i will refuse to listen to these typos of my "u"s in words, i am from Canada and KZheads Grammarly dont respect our choice of spelling >.>

I have a GR and she loves just about everything - living with two small dogs, two free roam house rabbits and the family house pigeon. I leave her with all of them knowing full well she would never harm them. They are such a beautiful gentle breed. ❤️
