Dinmukhammed Kanatuly Kudaibergen (Kazakh: Дінмұхаммед Қанатұлы Құдайберген, Dinmuhammed Qanatuly Qudaıbergen; born 24 May 1994), known professionally as Dimash Kudaibergen, is a Kazakh singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. He is university trained in classical as well as contemporary music, and is known for his exceptionally wide vocal range.[1][2][3][4][5] He has performed songs in twelve different languages.[6]
Although offered a position at the Astana Opera, he decided to carve out his career in contemporary music, mixing classical elements and traditional Kazakh music with pop music.[7]
He gained significant popularity in Kazakhstan and other post-Soviet countries in 2015 upon becoming the Grand Prix winner of Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk, Belarus.[8] He rose to fame in China with his participation as a "wildcard competitor" in Hunan TV's Singer 2017 (Chinese: 歌手2017)[9] finishing second overall.

Dimash had taekwondo training when he was younger - and it shows in the fight scene. He also wrote the music and managed to work in a lot of his different vocal registers from high whisper to vocal fry to his full chest voice and then rap - a Kazakh rapper wrote the lyrics to that part. The director and/or script writer said he wanted to see if Dimash could act - which YES, he can. This was written to be an action comedy with the main character being kind of cocky - handcuffs at the door, taking someone else's drink, saying to the girl "I see you looking my way. I can see you wanna dance for me baby." when she's obviously not looking his way. Then as he pursues her, he's taking a piece of candy, helping himself to a drink in the kitchen making that motion with his hands (followed by a charming smile). But this cocky guy can back up his attitude because he can fight. It was like watching James Bond, Indiana Jones and Jackie Chan all in one short movie video. And that photobomb towards the end made me laugh out loud. I thought it was brilliant. Thanks for your reaction - I love your reaction videos because you focus on technical things as well - like cinematography, lighting.
Dimash is SMOKIN’ HOT in this video!!! Oooo La La! My favorite part is when he stops to pose with the couple and then keeps running LOL :). Most people who sing in the style/genre of this new song could NEVER sing the demanding vocal pop ballads that Dimash is famous for, And most people who are really excellent at pop ballads and who have a true "singing" voice can NOT do a Michael Jackson/Iglesias/Timberlake type song. It is truly impressive that his voice can sing any style LEGITIMATELY. I think he has really elevated this genre! This was a really fun song, and I think Dimash REALLY looks incredibly chiseled ,EXCEPTIONALLY HANDSOME in this playful fun video :). and a couple of Dimash’s childhood heroes are MJ & Jackie Chan :) LET'S BE REAL HERE IN REALITY NO WOMAN WOULD BE RUNNING FROM GORGEOUS DIMASH!! LOL :). And neither would quite a few men too ;)!!

Well said about the vocal abilities! The photobomb is one of my favorite parts, too, because they incorporated his ongoing inside “habit” of photobombing. I haven’t seen any reactors yet catch that, but then again, most probably aren’t as dedicated to watching interviews and “behind the scenes” moments as some of us dears are. 😅

At last! I person who totally gets this video. To me, its so obviously a spoof of James Bond and Michael Jackson (with a little Jacky Chan thrown in)! Its supposed to be funny (I thought it was hilarious), but some people mourn " the loss of the old Dimash". Not me. I think Dimash was being mischievous, and having a lot of fun!

Dimash is morphing into a great actor.....he can filter out reality and put himself emotionally in a character (which he often does while singing, as you know, which is why we are so drawn by his stage presence :)), and he doesn't get distracted by where the camera is--he just lets the camera guy do his thing. I LOVE it that you really got the fantastic-ness of the water shot...only two other reactors (out of about 25) even mentioned it by words or reaction. G-R-E-A-T reaction!!

You were so adorable as you watched the fight scene, LOL. It's nice to hear the perspective of somebody who is in the business himself, thanks for that. The character in this clip sure was a departure from the "real" Dimash as we first got t know him. I remember seeing the making of another clip earlier in his career and he was so shy, he barely dared to look the female actress in the eyes, let alone touch her. And now a few years later we have him, bare chested, in a pool with his co-star! Dimash is growing up, LOL.

Loved your reaction and I agree with everything you said! Dimash actually said that training for the fight scenes were the most difficult part of the shoot. He said it was really important for him to do his own stunts and to make them look as realistic as possible. I think he did an incredible job and the director of this MV said that Dimash is an incredible actor and that he wanted to prove that to Dimash and the audience! Dimash started acting in China. He does martial, is very good friends with Jackie Chan, oh he also dances. His childhood idol is Michael Jackson. You must see the tribute DQ made to him. This was fun for Dimash and a good break away from the tedious expectations. He walked away from the formal world of opera to engage his range of abilities, so I know for sure he doesn't want to get cornered. Cheers, Doc

I really loved your reaction! I loved how you brought in all of the information about the color schemes which is something most of us who are not in the business don't think about. Everything you brought up added dimension to our experiencing of the video,. Dimash has a Red belt In Tai Quan Dao, which I'm sure comes in handy for authenticity in those fight scenes. @@CedricGegel1 As a matter of fact he has practised taekwondo for several years and has a red belt,so he is familiar with such movements!Besides,he has also practised swimming for about 5 years,which definitely helped him with breath control,that's what he stated in an interview when asked about his impecable breathing technique and its length.

This was shot in the most expensive and biggest hotel in Kazakhistan the Royal Tulip - Almati. And like before, the director Rodislav Lukin made a wonderful job here... Imagine all the logistics involved there... Dimash does Taekwondo every now and then, (4th belt) and the stunt Kasakh crew are the same who already worked with Schwarzenegger and Stallone films... (it only took 3 takes to make it a rap) And yes, Dimash also swims daily to improve he's lungs capacity ,whenever he has some time, and also drives a car ... It's Dimash in all one package!! Oh!! and he raps too see it at Mv "Screaming" - Idol Hits (Sunday 2/May at 7AM Kazakh hour was released the oficial video "behind the scenes")

Thank you for funny reaction. One of Dimash's inspirers is Jackie Chan. And Dimash has red (penultimate) belt in taekwondo... 😊 He had choose between sport and music due to lack of time, so he left taekwondo (also due to injuries, which could have harmed the singing).

I watched many interviews, most of them in Russian language or in Kazakh and Chinese Mandarin language with Russian (which I speak fluently) subtitles... Di said, that he was one belt away from the top (black belt, 1st Dan) before he stopped taekwondo. So much to say about this mv. Dimash has always been a big fan of MJ and Jackie Chan. Both the song and mv reflect that. He recently said in interview that he listens to Eminem and that was indeed a very fast rap flow that he was doing in Kazakh. He has his own production company Dimashali and they always put together top talent. He is a red belt in Tae Kwando and has been itching to show another side of himself. He just loves to perform and I agree he would be a great James Bond. Of course whatever he chooses to do he will put everything he's got at it and impress's us. Dimash made his name in China and Kazakhstan as a pop singer but he added elements of all genre in his songs. He only sings the big ballad type songs with Igor Krutoy and there are only a few songs but they are the most reacted to along with all the performances from one tv show in China I am Singer, so only a very small part if a long career. He has MVs on his channel with him acting also a couple from China with him acting, along with some of his solo concerts from around the world that are mostly pop and rock. He is also a red belt in Taekwondo so fighting is nothing new to him he just had to learn the choreography for the scene. The stunt actors are Nomad Stunts who have worked a lot in big Hollywood movies with the likes of Sylvestor Stallone, Bruce Willis, Chuck Norris, Jason Statham and many other famous stars, Dimash only has the best. Also Dimssh has a very low speaking voice so thats just his normal voice in the rap part. The location here is the Royal Tulip Hotel in Almaty Kazakhstan, tulips originated in Kazakhstan hence the name, also Almatau means Apple mountain, apples also originated in Kazakhstan an extremely beautiful country and huge, 9th largest in the world. Can't wait for part 2 of this story. This needs to get on the radio in the US, he will be coming there soon so be prepared ❤

Hi Janet - thanks for the info! I hope you're doing well. Do you know who did the martial arts choreography? I'd be really interested to know. Dimash executed the moves so spontaneously & easily that it seemed almost like he choreographed it himself! I have a long history of practicing different martial arts & boxing, and like Cedric I was also very impressed with this fight scene. Although Dimash may have stopped formally training & competing in Taekwondo as a teen, I suspect that he's very actively kept up his own private study of various martial arts, by watching him in this scene - I'm seeing a lot more than just Taekwondo, there are other arts involved in his moves. In a few instances Dimash moved in a similar way to Bruce Lee, utilizing concepts of practical physics & leverage. That's hard for a choreographer to teach an actor unless the actor's already an exceptional martial artist. You can get them to do the moves, but not to have that natural movement that looks so great on film. I know that Jackie Chan is Dimash's idol, but I saw more Bruce in this particular scene. No matter, Jackie was very influenced by & looks up to Bruce anyway. Actually, Dimash's fighting reminded me most of Bruce's son, Brandon. Everything about the song & the video is pure genius!!
