    • @The Hippy Hoppy Hippo True; cyclostomes (hagfish and lampreys) are probably not fish, unless it turns out that they (d)evolved from ostracoderms, as some Bayesian phylogenetic analyses seem to suggest. But having evolved from land vertebrates, whales, including dolphins and thereby orcas, are technically fish.

  • Orcas have a very cool way of eating penguins. They are able to put enough pressure on the penguins' bodies so that the body is separated from the skin and feathers and swallowed while the skin and feathers are spit out leaving cute little penguin suits floating in the water.

  • 1:09 it’s pronounced “say-shells” 1:18 fishes? Just fish. Fish is the plural 1:26 it’s pronounced “Trev-el-ee” 2:47 the archer fish is the size of a credit card, they don’t eat birds

    • There is actually a rule about the plural for 'fish'. If all the fish are of the same species it is 'fish', but it is 'fishes' if there is more than one species in the pair or group. So, I guess you can let him off for that one. But in the same statement he said the Seychelles is off the coast of South Africa. That's no where near it.

    • It should be, I mean it looks like a really big fish. Supposedly mammals give live birth but a platapus is a mammal that lays eggs. If you can make an exception for an egg laying mammal you can make the exception for a live birth giving fish. IMO

  • That's amazing, that footage of the giant trevally rocketing up and grabbing those birds. Now those Orcas are mammals, not fish. But it was still awesome-no, hilarious I to see them baiting in those pigeons with their own table scraps and thus expand their culinary variety!

  • Wels catfish aren't blind. They are active predators that use sight to hunt fish in daylight and clear water. They just have a very well developed sense of smell and touch that helps them locate food in darkness and murky water.

    • @@crimsonknight7011 Whether a bird runs, swims or flies away from predators, it's still a bird. Such a distinction is absurd. You sound like the pope who said eating capybaras on Fridays was OK because he classified the semi-aquatic rodents as fish! It's hard to imagine a more unscientific thought process than the one that says if the bird species can't fly it's suddenly no longer classified as a bird, you can't have a more Dark Ages view of animal species than that twisted logic.
