Hello! Here doing the same!
You don't make a lot of money restocking painings. If you just paint a new one, by selling it, you get 125% of the price But if you restock, you get just 25%
Pugs n Hugs But there isn't a 100% chance of it being a masterpiece. Restocking is the safest way to play.
Mortadda it may not guarantee a masterpiece but you will still earn more by painting fresh as the initial cost is so low compared to the price of restocking a high value painting.
Mortadda True, if a masterpiece sells for $1000 he'll get $250 each time, but if he paints a large painting that sells for $400 he'll get more money. Unfortunately, paintings rarely have so much profit, so restocking seems to be the best way at this point.
Pugs n Hugs 25% is better than 0%, not every painting will be the same quality as a masterpiece. 25% of a masterpiece is probably greater than 125% of a masterturd. Also, it's a guaranteed 25%, there's no loss in selling them again.

I'm a silent viewer. But I'm watching this over about the 8th time Lady BigWallets episodes are amazing. I'm doing my GED homework and listening to your videos. With my PTSD it helps me be distracted from the other noise. It also helps me fall asleep. So the episode I click on if I fall asleep during it. I save it to watch later that way I know which one to start on.

With the still-life of the streetlight you have to tell yourself the meaning behind it. How light can be shed into any dark situation. Or possibly it represents the beauty in little things. It may even represent how everyone is individual and amazing, shining their imperfect light on the world, making a difference. (At least that's what you tell the customers so they buy your crap painting.)

He's pumping out these episodes like his sim pumps out paintings. Hey, when your sim masters the painting skill could you focus on selling something else? Like photos? Or you could make things with the work bench and once your handiness skill gets high enough you could check out that secret world.
I’m the kind of person who likes to watch things from the VERY beginning and I kinda cringed seeing that this was from 8 years ago bc videos that old tend to be a little rough around the edges, but let me just say I am SUPER impressed by how good these episodes are. I’d believe they were from 2023 if I didn’t know better. So good!
God it drives me mad seeing him trying to get masterpieces to restock when restocking them is gonna cost him the full price of the masterpiece (about a thousand simoleons), and only net him 25% gain when selling a new painting may sell for less but only costs 100 simoleons at most, but there's nothing I can do because this was recorded SEVEN years ago. I hope he figures it out eventually, like he did that breeding frogs is better than just selling them.
MLG Sims 4 Pro Tip: ((idea partially stolen from SimsFinch)) Once you've got your store down, make it nice and pretty. Bring in the customers. Then, when the youngins come by, offer them an executive tour to the basement. Lock 'em in, and force them to paint. Cops can't go in basements, so it's foolproof!

Watching this again 9 years later... Wow... James was so harsh on the first Lady Bigwallet. He is so much more kind and gentle to his current heirs compared to this era. We have come a long way... but I think that's how we can see and appreciate the first generation's hard work to have the legacy of today's Bigwallet. Just unfortunate for the current heir as we have a buggy For Rent pack.

I know it’s an older video but in case anyone is reading and trying this challenge, I’ve had a lot of success selling roses & lilies from my garden! Dad is a doctor and mom is a tech guru, started them off as a single couple and decided to make them have a kid, then they friggin get pregnant with TRIPLETS and I’ll tell you, thank goodness those kids were born at the end of winter so I had roses in spring. And by the time they aged up to children, I had about 40k from their jobs and side jobs (mom was also a writer), so I built them a new place with a greenhouse, just moving in their old furniture and replacing with new stuff as I made the money to do so. Triplets are teens now, each with their own rooms, we’ve got two dogs, I’ve fully renovated the house, and I have a comfortable 60k to boot and now that I’ve spliced the roses and lillies, I’m seeing my money climb exponentially. Mom & dad are level 7 in their careers now but I still credit 80% of their wealth to those gardens. They were there making us profit even when I made the mom take vacation days through the triplets’ toddlerhood and when I made dad take vacation days because he had gained weight and I demanded he returned to swol god status 😂 Once you can come across them, dragonfruit and UFO plants will get you even more profit (though I’ve yet to find UFO outside of my rocket scientist sim’s story), but roses and lilies will have you pretty well off anyway. I have 32 plants as of the renovated house and make about 3-4K/day depending on when I catch them all blooming at the same time or not. Don’t forget your bees!
