That heron is a beast. The eel is a hard-to-kill creature so it could be alive inside the stomach for quite a bit.

You can always tell the best meals, when you feel it struggle a little inside your stomach, and then stop moving.
Bloody herons ate all the fish and frogs in my garden. I do love to see them though, but in other people's gardens.

Outstanding video. With pinpoint accuracy...I'm sure it's like getting hit in the neck repeatedly with a pick axe. Lesson learned: Don't fuck with the heron.

I caught 2 teenagers killing a Heron about 25 years ago. I think they're still in jail.

That's not what he was doing. He was sharpening his weapon for the next conquest.
Killing an eel ? You can't kill an eel. You can skin it, cut i small pieces and fry it in the pan, and it still will be alive.
Heron will have a wiggly feeling in its tummy.
Their taste buds must be in their stomachs.

Of course it swallows it whole!!! This bird, has no teeth, like all birds; nor does it have a beak like an eagle or a falcon to be able to shred its prey and swallow it in small pieces!

Herons are evolved to swallow prey whole and have no teeth to take smaller bites or chew their food.
