I must say the cat really does take it's job of supervisor seriously. Throughout all the videos you can see inspections going on meticulously - no corner is left un-sniffed to ensure the jobs been done satisfactorily.
so true! unfortunately she was hit by a car and passed away :(

for me that grouting-material seems to be a little stiff and dry. So it takes much effort to press it into the gaps. But thats only my opinion and anyway: the result is what counts. And the result looks awsome!!
a guilty pleasure watching you work so hard. binge watching this rebuild. Excellent work and results.
thanks for the feedback! means a lot
Only just joined the channel, had to go back and watch from the start! Amazing work!
Amazingly, it is so relaxing to watch you work on your projects. You are so meticulous in your approach! After watching you I am encouraged to relax in my projects and enjoy the process!
I love that type of flooring!! Beautiful job! You and your dad make a great team!!
Love the cat,!! Love your place.!! You do amazing Work.!! best thing on KZhead.! a year or so ago, I have spent hours and hours on a French real estate sight online, just dreaming about buying one of those run down stone places' some looked beyond repair. but after seeing your videos, looking back, I guess they weren't so bad. (for someone like you) Thank you for sharing your work. Love it.!!!!!
As they say: I love work. I can watch for hours! Seriously, I have to commend your workmanship and taste.
You did great job,and always hard work. God bless you.
I did the same thing too first time grouting - too much mud and spreading across whole tiles instead of pushing just into the cracks. I always add some sprinkles of water to the drying mix makes it easier to push in. Easier to buy grout, you don't have to invent the wheel.
I wish when I was in school a long time ago 60’s that they allowed girls to have classes like wood shop and metal shop. I find it so interesting.
The floor looks beautiful. You did a great job!
Great job as usual !!! Great job guys !
Floor looks 👍👍👍 natural looking. I like your cat. It's very cute
Looks fantastic
Just watched all 3 parts. Great job!
Cheers Nikos!
Wonderful work
You did a beautiful job!
When grouting travertine tiles, I use a jointing bag and run it down the joints. This way it keeps he tiles cleaner and saves a vast amount of spongueing off.
Good tip! These tiles weren't pre-filled so we had the grout all over - hence why it was so messy!
i would seal the stone before grouting..
@@mosswerner77 That is such a BAD IDEA. These tiles needed grout on the face (due to natural defects and voids) as well as in the joints between tiles. Presealing would have prevented the grout from adhering.
Cat be like: "- Look at what my slaves are building for me...."
😂😂🤣🤣
Fantastic work!!! Beautiful job! Your so talented and seem to know everything in construction. You must be 140 years to know so much! Lololol
The cat stole the show .
She always did!
What a beautiful floor. Lots of character. Neat work too
That's travertine for you.
@@JohnnyMotel99 yeah I know, but still awesome
looks great good choice
The floor looks beautiful 😁👌👌👏👏👏👏❤️❤️
so many similarities with our french home renovation.. im wondering how effective the seal is on the travertine floors longterm. currently uncertain if we use for a kitchen floor or not as ive seen so many photos of horrible dirty grouting after a few years of use
Beautiful! I love your cat
if you seal the stones before grout, it would make it so much easier for you
I’m a woman and I have legit binge watched all of your videos. Lol So therapeutic! You guys do amazing work! Such attention to detail!! Great job on everything y’all do. Ps- that damn cat is forever in the way- lmao! Super cute though!
Good job!
Amazing!
Good work and video and your cat.
Fantastic!
Good 😊 job.
4:58 Supervisor Kitty is doing another site inspection.
Hi, you should put this video in the playlist. 🌺
Like a boss ! Great job but the cat is the super boss haha
Ten kot, to chyba wasz szef :d, podłoga ładna, przejebane doczyścić.
le travertin est magnifique dans ces veilles maison du Gers
i have always found it easier to use a sweeping brush to clean off the excess grout.do it when the grout starts drying a light colour.brush across the joints not in the joints.once the worst of the grout has gone sponge the joints.leave till grout changes lighter in colour and once again dry off with dry rag.leave dry.one really dry pass with dry cloth to take off smears.
Good tips - I'll be sure to try them next time!
interesting, but doesnt the grout get in all the holes on the tiles?
The cat is suspiciously interested in flooring!
Too much effort for that effect for my oppinion. I understand You making it all yoursalve ( i did that for 10 yeras on my villege farm) and I respect all of Your works.
Where in France are you guy's and nice job .
We're in a region called the Gers, very rural and full of falling down farmhouses & chateaus if you're interested ;)
I live down south to Gard department in the Cevennes
Design tips - I did not like the grout color...too pale almond is better... and you don't need to seal the travertine against water damage as my terrace was unsealed for 12 months during the last winter the wettest ever recorded - I sealed mine against oil and stains ! Also, the rolled edge tiles look better in an old villa ... square cut edges are for modern villas :)
Shouldn't the tiles be sealed before you grout them?
D Beaulieu yep, they were sealed before they were laid and after grouting
i never do. i lay them, grout them and seal them afterwards. never had a problem.
Die Katze macht die Bauabnahme !
Tile came out nice. The grout work and water clean up is the worst part.
End of tiling Glad the cooking fat didn’t finish underneath it 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Grout should have the consistency of Mayonnaise so it will flow through the grout lines with minimum pressure applied.
maybe you should stick to making sandwiches. different grouts have different consistencies. this is a coarse grout designed for unfilled Travertine floors.
My note was intended for easing the pain for those who may follow the example of the grout in the video !, I actually make my own grout and thin set. I've done this since 1976 and in three continents. My specialty is Organic Flat roof/ Balcony tiling and i make great sandwiches too. Thank you for your video and Kind reply.
Haha, fair enough - i didn't know that! Interesting speciality, would like to give that a go some day :) Thanks for taking the time to comment
@@dozdeshabb Your comment is still a stupid one. There is no one consistency to grout--PERIOD.
🐈
Omg sprinkle some water on that shit. You must be destroying your hands with that stiff grout. Good work though, looks nice.
EvilleMonkey it's very coarse grout so the water content is as per the guidelines! It was the sponge that rubbed the skin off our fingertips believe it or not!
Le chat est tres curieux et pot de colle .
‘Cat’ think I’ll just get in the way see if I can get fed
ADD MORE WATER, is water expensive in France ????
Still a lot of grout on the tiles in those voids. Would have been better to just grout the joints.
Meown
2:04 think you need some new socks lad
Your supervisor(cat) is saying your doing wrong
Grouting is my least favourite job.
30 people have no taste
why did you use these travertine tiles in place of plane finished tiles, your work is awesome but due to these tiles surface dull and rough..that's why i am not liking this.
Sohail Ali the tiles are suitable for this type of house. Smooth polished titles would look out of place in a 300 year old farmhouse! Thanks for your comment
Is for a farmhouse. Not for a night club.
Good and hard work but ugly floor
