Building My Favorite Camper Yet!

Experience the complete build of my latest, and largest, DIY camper. It's 6X10, sleeps four, has a shower and toilet and a new, experimental way of powering it with Ryobi 40 volt batteries (as well as shore power). Like my other builds, I didn't hold back when using alternative building techniques just to see if I can pull them off. It travels on a Harbor Freight 1720 lb trailer and can be easily unmounted if needed. It's also my first build that's tall enough to stand up in!
MATERIALS LIST BELOW
If you found this video after the release date, we have installed a 3500lb-rated axle and a set of Rainer radials. This helps the build be the safest possible on the road, although we didn't have any issues with the equipment used in the video. We simply upgraded when we could.

    • Couldn't agree more with the sentiment of music. There are moments when music can be good, but KZhead creators often use it too much. The audience doesn't need a constant onslaught of noise. A little exposition on what you're doing, shots that show it and that is all you really need.

    • I would think a carpenter would object to the use of lap board for bottom wall structure. Those lag bolts aren't very useful, because the wood is the weak point, not eh fastener. Under enough stress, load, or long term shock and wear, the structural failure of the design is the bottom boards splitting, which pine will do.

    • Thanks for watching! I have been given a lot of credit for this build. I appreciate that, but I wish I would've said in the video that I've been doing handyman and construction work on and off for two decades. Now, I'm finally using on-the-job skills at home in the garage, by building these campers. Most any handyman or seasoned construction worker could easily replicate this build. The only gift I have is perseverance. Not giving up. If folks would watch me in real time building this, I'd actually look quite dumb. I make a million mistakes along the way and often don't know my next move. But that's the beauty of editing!
