  • Jerry Rice is the best NFL player of all time. He recorded 1,000 yards twice after age 39. He’s ahead of the next all time leading receiving by 6,000 yards. He was a first time all-pro 10 times. He’s got a 197 receiving touchdowns and he’s ahead of second place by 40 touchdowns. He is greatness personified.

    • The best to ever play WR, also played in Era where WRs got destroyed coming across the middle. I have so many amazing memories as a kid going nuts watching Montana to Rice(and then Young to Rice!). I loved the Niners from 5 years old, nobody will ever be better than this man.

    • Those are really good athletes and I can understand why would you pick him but even as a 49er fan and I do think generous was the best receiver in his era... But it's really hard to compare to other rights receivers because the game was so much different back in the day... I think it was literally 80s or late seventies were back then you can hit a receiver throughout the field and when the ball is in the air that's when you're not allowed to hit the wide receiver or it will be a pass interference but the NFL changed that rule where you can only get the receiver 5 yards before you're not able to touch him or you get a penalty... It's like when people say Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback ever while the football game was way different than the 90s or the 80s as well when you can actually hit a quarterback to where now you can't go down the knees or before his head... But I will say that those three athletes that you said that were the greatest they were the greatest during their time

  • I loved playing football with my brothers at like 7 years old back in '88 but didn't watch it. My dad watched the Seahawks so I would see some games here and there but it was Steve Young and Jerry Rice who sucked me into watching it. I still have a bunch of Steve and Jerry's trading cards from the 90's, man they were fun to watch. I slowly started watching more Seahawks and after Steve and Jerry were done I became a Seahawk only fan. Growing up in the 90's was just great for a lot of things. Go Hawks!

  • This video pretty much sums of everything about Jerry Rice as an all time great. It shows his... -Work ethic (catching bricks and the Hill or mountain) -Hands -Route running -Blocking -Running/rushing (underrated) -Clutch-ness -Football IQ -Mental Toughness -"Game" speed -Yards after catch -50+ TD receptions -Ability to beat his man and double coverage -Ability to break tackles -Ability to make difficult/tight catches -Recording setting year (3rd year with no gloves) -Competitiveness (checking the newspaper for any slight) -Great playoff performances -Ability to play through injury (especially in 2 Super Bowls) -Ability to come back early from a major injury -Ability to play well at an older age Etc He wasn't one of the flashiest players although one of his nicknames was "Flash 80" but he was an all around, great wide receiver and that's why he was the best.

The career he put together is astonishing in every measurable way. The only other player in any sport that could come close to the dynamic I just described where they are head and shoulders above anyone else that has ever played is Wayne Gretzky.

  • 13:01 The Square out, especially to the weak side of the QB (Left for right handed QBs and right for Left handed ones) is an amazing route in real life and in Madden. I coach amateur adults, and we have made so many clutch and big plays this way with our leftie/south paw QB, and I have won Madden tournaments going back to the PS2 days on that 10+ yard square out. The stem threat of the post, the curl, and just the go is what makes it work so well. The ball comes out quickly enough that you can execute the play without needing to beg the offensive line for extra protection either. Once the DB & Defensive coach thinks they can jump it, you can hit them with a dagger or a Co-Po route and really make their lives miserable.

    • Omg shut up. Tired of he was only great because of the qbs he had argument. As a WR you still have to CATCH the balls and do what you can with it. Rices yards after catch was incredible.

    • @@rickyrichreacts9667 I said “little” help. Rice still would still be great catching passes from Rick Mirer or Tim Rattay but not as successful catching from two HOF quarterbacks.
