Finishing the Bridge | Fall Break Projects with my Daughter, Part 1

Our schools are out for a couple of weeks for fall break. Since my daughter will be home during that time, we decided to take advantage of it and get a few things done that we've been putting off. Our first project will be to finish the horseback riding bridge repairs that we started back in the spring of this year. We originally ran out of lumber and didn't have enough to complete the task. Its now time to get that job completed. We finished tearing off the old boards that had deteriorated badly. Then we went to the lumber store to get some new boards. Then it was just a matter of cutting them to size and screwing them in place. 1st project completed. On to the next.

  • Cool video, fixing the bridge. The first horse made it over the bridge safely. Lol

  • Looks like you need to keep an eye on Chocolate, that curious horse. Is the bridge used for crossing a span or is it used to get horses comfortable with walking across a wooden "bridge?"

    • That's a curious one for sure. Lol. The bridge is used as a training obstacle to help the horses get comfortable with it. You'll see obstacles like this in trail horse events.

  • @2:10 that's not a cow. Hey Jeff & Hayley I like to snack on Cashews and Pistachios. I have project for you. Make a hold fast on that bench you were cutting the boards on. Or just have Hayley hold the end. 😉

    • Cashews are great too. Yeah, I needed something to hold those boards down. They wanted to slip around on me.

    • Oh yeah, I kind of forgot about apple chips. I used to eat those quite a bit.
