Its time to get started on a new guitar build. This is the first episode of the Hayley Guitars Sub Tonic Bass Guitar build. Its been my plan from the beginning to use my Onefinity CNC machine to do the majority of the woodworking for this guitar. In this video, I'll show you an overview of the design process and I'll begin making a test body on the CNC. I'm learning so much during this process and I can't wait to get all the kinks worked out. Join me on this journey to create a new bass guitar. Its going to be fun and I'm excited to see the Sub Tonic come to life.

    • Thanks Dude. I sort of relate this to building your first acoustic. (obviously not the same though) There are so many things to figure out along the way. Once you get through it, its not too bad. I'm excited to build this bass guitar.

  • Good video. Showing both the good things that happened and the bad that can also happen. Just goes to show that it's a good Idea to do a practice run before doing the real thing. It may not fully show everything correctly like the router bit can still come out doing the run on a piece of wood you want as the finished body but it should do pretty close. Also there is always the possibility that the code or machine glitches. but that almost always a possibility. Best of luck to you when you run the machine to make the real guitar bodys and necks.

    • Thanks Robert. You're right. There's always something that could happen. I'm hoping to work out as many kinks as I can now to hopefully avoid some later.

  • Nice job. It's kinda funny that a lot of those people, who complain about CNC's being used, won't hesitate to buy a Gibson, Fender, etc, that are mass produced on CNC machines.

    • Thats exactly how I feel. The other thing that gets me is they're ok using routers and such on their CNC made templates that they bought. Its just another tool in the toolbox. I don't knock whatever method people like. The end goal is to bring another guitar into the world.
