    • I heard someone saying that, in the thrill of the fight , the adrenaline you get is insane , and some fighters can't stop even after a clear KO , that is why there is rarely consequences for the winner who get extra punches in there after the knock out .

    • Bullshit! Not one person who steps in the octagon is a coward. Theses guys HAVE to have the mindset to go till the ref stops them. Too many times they have seen others hesitant to keep going and the next thing they are on their own back getting their face punched in! They are told and it's drilled into them that only stop when the ref stops you. There are always a few exceptions where the ref is a little slow and it's super obvious that the guys out tho. For sure. And it is good when they hold themselves back just a little then to give the ref time to step in. But the rules are clear, fight to the refs command stop.

  • Mario Yamasaki actually used to be a good referee, there are rumours his quality of refereeing diminished from being told to allow for fights to go on longer, I’m not sure how much merit there is to it.

  • I love as a former competitor when you have a moment like Matt Brown did on TUF at about 3:10 where he hit the guy twice and each time you heard the teammates come to life in the background because they knew that Brown had him broken down. Everybody whose ever competed in combat sports knows it when they see it, when they hear it based on the opponent reacts.
