Crazy Winter storms - Atmospheric River Compilation 2 - 2023 Snow - Flooding - Blizzards

Since so many people enjoyed the first video and #california had such a bombardment of #atmosphericrRiver events in #2023 This includes the repeated record setting #2023 #winterstorm season that left places with a snow pack greater than 40 feet. #blizzard conditions from numerous events as well as #flooding, #flood #hail #storms #wind #Waves and #crazy #weather. #cawx Everyone kept asking me to compare the record setting lake effect event to something and it kept reminding me of atmospheric river events in California.
Atmospheric Rivers, also known as Pineapple Express is a weather setup in which a channel of deep moisture extending all the way back to Hawaii sets up over the West Coast. This causes flooding at low elevations, big waves along the coast and heavy snow in the mountains. When these events happen over burn scars they can cause #naturaldisasters such as mudflows, debris flows and land slides.
Video is comprised of a bunch of raw cuts without commentary or music with drone shots mixed in. #semi #trucks #travel #trucking I will be doing part 2 to a series of these so don't forget to subscribe. Blizzards, Nor'easters, Ice Storms, Southern Snow events and a crazy winter weather comp. Please feel free to make suggestions in the comments.

  • I grew up outside of Philadelphia. The winter of'63-'64 was a booger. We got snowed in for a week and my dad and I took a sled and saucer to town for some groceries (about 2 miles one way) I thought it was a great adventure, my dad, not so much. At Christmas '65 were drove to Philadelphia to pick up my sister and her husband. My dad had a '64 VW bus and he had studded tires. A couple of people passed us (we were chugging along) an inevitably a mile or 3 up the road, they would be off in a ditch and being Christmas Eve and all, we stopped to give a ride to whomever was stuck. Much as I disliked that bus, we made it home in one piece (a lot longer than usual). That was the FIRST TIME I ever witnessed thunder and lightning in a blizzard. The next morning we were snowed in ourselves and a few neighbors had drifts over their houses (single story ranch) I realized that we forgot about our dogs in the back yard (but they had a dog house) and in a panic I floundered outside making for the dog houses and before I could get there all three had pushed their way out of the dog houses. They were snug as a bug in a rug, the snow insulated them and they were fine and I did bring food and water to them. I haven't seen a big storm like that since, but when I lived in Vermont, we got dumped on (46 inches on the patio) and I had to drive to PA for some fire training. Needless to say, I managed to rent a gnarly 4x4 truck and made it there and back. Vermont and New York were on top of the game, PA, well, not much changed in 30 years. I now live in BFE northern Montana and THEIR idea of a blizzard is a few stray snowflakes and a gentle breeze. AND people STILL drive like idiots. Great video.

  • Very impressive snowfall. Great footage thank you, 2023 was one heck of a year for weather. Hopefully we get snow here in the east. The 2022-23 winter was the second warmest and least snowiest on record here in New Jersey according to NOAA. An El Niño pattern typically (despite making temperatures warmer) increases the odds for a big time Nor’easter Blizzard in the Mid-Atlantic, an example being Winter Storm Jonas in January 2016. Regardless Winter is very beautiful but Winter weather can be dangerous so I wish my west coast neighbors the best this upcoming winter especially with some of those impressive flooding scenes.

    • I love nor'easters and I'm expecting a few good ones this year. Like you said, El Nino usually does the trick. Also want some epic waves in Nazare and Hawaii at some point. Three consecutive La Ninas really limited those chances.

  • I'm so sorry everyone in the mainland is going through all kinds of bad weather. I live in Hawaii and we don't get snow and ice. I'm not bragging because I live in Hawaii. I'm tired of living in Hawaii to be honest it's getting more and more expensive living in Hawaii. We get rain for winter and it's hot and I would love to be in the snow. I have lived in Hawaii for 35 yrs now and it's been 20yrs since I have been in the snow. Living in Hawaii is very different life style than the mainland. The world is getting worse everyday and it's very sad. Everyone in the mainland is getting bad weather I feel bad for everyone in the mainland. Thank you for sharing this video

  • in adverse weather conditions It is possible to panic while driving on slippery surfaces. In such cases, you should have braking control and avoid sudden braking. The healthiest way to achieve this is not to drive too fast.🇹🇷⛄❄️

  • The storms in the Pacific are magnificent. I've tried explaining to east coast people what it looks like when you have waves that are more than 1000 feet peak to peak. If there's one thing I miss about the west coast it is standing on Marin Headlands in a winter storm and watching the incredible breakers over the shallows north and south of the channel. Same thing at Mavericks, but you don't have a safe viewing location. The snow in the Sierras was incredible. It's funny that the east coast thinks it has a lot of snow, because major cities get some, but they get nothing compared to the Sierras. We've only had a dusting of snow in NH this year and the Sierra Nevada passes are already closed. Yosemite were saying they might open Tioga pass again after the first snow, but it's closed now, and I've stood next to 20 feet of snow on Sonora Pass at the end of May when the East coast has been snow free for months. On that memorial day weekend we had snow at 7,000 feet in a valley in Nevada.

    @cageordie@cageordie6 ай бұрын
    • Yes, East Coast can’t comprehend the snow in the Sierra, most in the Sierra could not comprehend it this year. They are also so much better suited to handle it though. The blizzard in Buffalo in December was on another level. To have that strong of a blizzard in a metro was a catastrophe. It also hits different when temps are zero and winds are gusting over 45mph for 3 straight days and peaking near 100.

  • Use a kinetic recovery rope and soft shackles. It works far better than a tow strap, rope, or chain. Little to no damage to either vehicle.

  • The editing is very off putting. No consistency of location, jumping about too frequently and seemingly even cutting a single piece of footage into multiple pieces for no reason. A good way to discourage full viewing or viewers from returning. Edit; Footage is out of sequence too, vehicles shown getting unstuck or in its final stuck position, then after cutting to something else, they're in the process of getting stuck. If this is compiled from 'raw cuts', they would presumably be saved automatically when recorded by time stamps or similar, so to put them together in such a mess is extra effort for more viewer displeasure.
