Btw you should react to all of their individual performances during the show especially Ahyeon's "Dangerously" cover. It went viral everywhere, even Charlie Puth gave BabyMonster a song ("Like that") because of her cover. ❤️

In late-2017, YG Entertainment announced that were auditioning for new trainees starting in 2018. From 2018-2020, there were 15 trainees in the Babymonster project. From 2020-2021, there were 10 trainees in the Babymonster project. From 2022-2023, there were 7 trainees in the Babymonster project. As they were nearing the finalization of the project, YGE filmed "The Last Evaluation" series with the final 7 trainees during Spring 2022. That series was then shown to the public in early 2023 in order to build hype for the new YG girl group that was going to debut in Q3 2023. On 2023-11-15, YGE confirmed that one of the members (Ahyeon) is on hiatus due to health reasons and the group would debut with six members on 2023-11-23. On 2024-01-25, YGE announced that Ahyeon has returned from hiatus due to health reasons and Babymonster will debut with all seven members on 2024-04-01. In addition, all previously released songs ("Batter Up" and "Stuck in the Middle") are being re-recorded for the mini album to include all seven members. On 2024-04-02, YGE confirmed that "Sheesh" is Babymonster's official debut song because it has all seven members and Babymonster's first music show appearance will be on 2024-04-07 on SBS Inkigayo.
Because Korean laws prohibits a company from disclosing the actual medical/health reasons for a minor artist/trainee being placed on hiatus for health concerns, many netizens speculate why she was on hiatus. Those speculations ranged from leaving the company to botched cosmetic surgery to mental health. The truth is the real reason will never be public disclosed. From pictures and videos of Ahyeon pre-hiatus and post-hiatus, the only thing that can be deduced is that she lost a lot of weight and is not back to her pre-hiatus weight. When she was still on hiatus, a k-netizen posted about seeing her at a restaurant and that she looked unhealthy and had lost a lot of weight due to being sick. However, when that was posted, it was shouted down by netizens for being fake because of their belief that YG is bad and the most popular theories were (1) she was on hiatus as a cover for her being mistreated by YG and (2) she was on hiatus due to mental health issues.

yes there are kinad 2 debuts, initially they were 7, but Ahyeon had health issues, so they did 2 songs without her, but now she is back, and they officially debuted in April 1st.

Sooo... I don't know if your questions from videos were answered in comments or not but I'll try my best (specially as a YG stan from past 16 years 😂😂) First of all... This "servival show to debut the group" was popularised by YG Ent with THE IDOL of IDOLS debut (I'm talking about BigBang here.... Even mighty BTS are fan of BigBang, TILL THIS DAY and counting..) so I know your reference might be "stray kids" but I'm just telling this as additional info. Now, about 6 members debut, so they had a survival show called "Last Evaluation" and all 7 of them were announced as the members of "BABYMONSTER'' but few months prior to their debut "Ahyeon" THE 1st official member of group and one of the 3 ACEs of group had major throat illness and had to take break from practicing as well as recording for debut (which was already announced in may 2023 in same video of member announcement and fans were eagerly waiting for this debut from may to November 2023.. so cancelling it was not an option) so YG decided not to play with emotions of fans and announced debut with 6 members and explained why Ahyeon is not in the group in that same video... That's why they debuted as 6 members with 2 singles, Batter Up and Stuck in the middle. Now that AHYEON is all fit and ready, they re-recorded those 2 songs with all 7 members and had 2nd debut as all 7 members (or as we love to call them "BabyMons7er").

Glad to see someone from 2nd gen k-pop still doing reactions and enjoying them. Also, I might be sounding crazy here but mark my words, the dominance in live performances, specially in award shows that YG had with BigBang and 2NE1 in 2nd gen is about to get repeated by treasure and babymonster in upcoming years... (Well not quite to the level of BigBang and 2NE1 as those 2 absolutely dominated 2nd gen, atleast live performances and shows of 2nd gen)

Yg stated that "Sheesh" is their debut song while Batter up was kinda like pre debut song of them. The girls also confirmed in the interview that April 1 was theur debut date because its the 7 of them debuting in it.

Baby monster Last Evaluation is something like Twice. Originally they are introduced as 7 trainees. Then at the middle of the survival show YG announced that baby monster is a 5member group only. So the girls perform as best as they can individually and as a group then at the end YG keep them as 7. Please if you have time react to their pre-debut contents it's worth it.

Even as the show goes on, people were underestimate her to the point they even called her no fit to join BM debut lineup bcoz her voice is "annoying" 😢 But during their solo mission, she sing 'Pick up your feelings' soooo effortlesly with REALLY HIGH note and people were left speechless. Her performance went viral, broke twitter trends and made it to Twt billboard chart.. Her voice continue make its impact when BM cover a christmas song called "Christmas without you" people called Rami as Mariah Carey daughter.. And even now on Sheesh, her part continue it's impact she is everywhere on tiktok, instagram, twitter for her "siren voice" when she sing with low note 🔥 Even yesterday when they in Inkigayo and MC Yeonjun asked her to sing a bit part of Sheesh, her raw vocal is so powerful we got endless articles praising her even Yeonjun was too stunned to speak 😭 she is amazing, as Leejung (YG/Blackpink choreographer) said, Rami is actually the dark horse of Babymonster 🔥

Actually that's ahyeon and she is an ace, YG had an announcement that ahyeon had some health issues and time was getting longer that's why they debut 6 but they said that ahyeon will be back soon and here she is fine now and babymonster become babymons7er now
They didn’t leave the one out on purpose, she was either taking a break or some people think she had minor plastic surgery, the reason for the debut of 6 was because from the time they finished with the decision of the seven group members, a year had gone by and fans were getting pissed, so they dropped a song batter up with 6 that they re-recorded with all 7 on the mini album that came out April 1

This wasn't that usual survival shows. They individually auditioned and were accepted as trainees. They were trained for 1-4years then YG decided to have the top7 trainees do a FINAL Evaluation to debut the 5 trainees as Baby Monster. At the end, YG decided to debut all 7 due to strong YG stans demand to debut them all.
The Last Evaluation series was released in early-2023. From the footage of the series, k-netizens deduced that the series was filmed in Spring 2022. They then used that footage to identify pictures of a YG manager with a group of seven unknown members at the Blackpink concert in Winter 2022 as the seven trainees shown in The Last Evaluation series. They then factored in that Papa YG typically tells trainees that not all of them will debut but then debuts all of them anyway (BigBang, Winner, iKon, Treasure). They then added in the fact that since YG does not assign managers to their trainees because they have a dedicated support staff that manages their trainees. All of that lead YG-stan k-netizens to conclude that the Last Evaluation series was simply a marketing strategy to increase hype and drama for the new YG girl group set to debut in 2023 and that all seven members were in the group, weeks before Papa YG made his public announcement of who was in Babymonster.

Why not try checking the Last Evaluation show ep 1-8. Actually they started more than 7 but were cut off during the finalization when they started the show.
7:25 At first they planned to debut them at the same time as 7 members group. but Ahyeon fell sick all of sudden. so at first YG tend to postpone their schedule and wait till Ahyeon recover. but around October-November 2023 YG fall into a big bad news after another. such as Blackpink the main gold maker of company at that time won't renew their contract at YG. and GD the legendary artist of YG was slandered by media that he use drugs. so YG quickly announce statement that they didn't involve in anything and try to draw the clear line with GD as fast as possible. like they want to kick him out as fast as possible. so it make GD upset and choose to sign new contract with the other company. Which make YG stock plummet drastically. so YG can't wait for Ahyeon recovery any more and have to debut BABYMONSTER 6 people first to stabilize the scene as fast as possible. so it became those 2 songs (BATTER UP,SITM) that has only 6 members and after Ahyeon recover they rearrange 2 songs to get Ahyeon's part and let Ahyeon record them and included in the full album as 7 version afterward. SHEESH is the title track of Album and is the comeback after Ahyeon recovered so they have 7 members and those previous 2 songs in 7 version was release at the same time without M/V.
Yes you're right actually YG & JYP always have survival shows with only their trainees participated for their next gen well it's more meaningful back then cause they do have a battle/friendly match YG trainees vs. JYP trainees but it's just for their boygroups back then YG didn't show how they picked the final 2NE1 & BLACKPINK before but now they decided to show BABY MONSTER 😊
