In this video my friend and I react to (G)I-DLE Tomboy, Enhypen Bite Me, BABYMONSTER Batter Up, and Blackpink Pink Venom. My friend has never gotten into K-pop so I have no idea if she'll have any interest in it, but I'm hoping to get her to enjoy it as much as I do. In this K-pop reaction we both give our overall thoughts.

The reason why they aren’t dressed like a “Tomboy” is bc they aren’t talking abt the normalized tomboy nowadays, they are talking abt breaking the image that are put onto as woman that’s why Soyeon said “you get this song right? You get what I mean ‘Tomboy’” meaning she’s not talking abt the normal tomboy, but breaking the woman stereotypes that would normally make her a “tomboy”

Re (G)I-DLE's Tomboy, the name 'tomboy' is more about the Korean interpretation of the term, which is someone who doesn't follow the social standard for a demure, genteel woman. They sing about drinking whiskey, they swear, and in the uncensored CD version, Soyeon's rap mentions liking sex, all things considered 'improper' for respectable young women (especially traditional KPop groups). It's basically saying 'f*ck what you think I should be, I'm going to do what I want". So, the pink outfits are still Korean tomboy-ish

Bite Me - floating chair. The whole Enhypen lore is based on vampires and they all have powers. I am guessing that this was a callback to their debut song Given-Taken where Ni-Ki was levitating. The entire Dark Blood album had callbacks to their debut album Border: day One.
One thing about YG, is that, they always attract non-kpop fans, esp. western ppl. Their catchy songs with a matching western style and hip-hop based concept, are loved by many. It would sound "repetitive" for haters, but that's their way to attract ppl.

I love Batter Up. It has so many hidden messages it is really fun to watch. The entire song is a rap song message from YG to Blackpink girls over their contract negotiations. It was the debut for 6 of the girls but Ahyeon was sick so Sheesh is now the official debut OT7. When Batter Up was filmed, 4 of the girls were 15 or 16. Chiquita was 14.

I feel like you guys will love Sacrifice, Drunk-Dazed, Given-Taken, Fever, Criminal Love, etc. I would also check out dance practices because like you guys said, they're AMAZING dancers!! (MMA, MAMA, Golden Globes, Given-Taken, Fever, Sacrifice, Drunk-Dazed, Still Monster, etc.) Also for 11:40, for Enhypen's storyline they have a webtoon called Dark Moon: The Blood Alter. I don't fully know the storyline but basically when Enha was young, they were taken to an orphanage, the people there would experiment on them. In effect, each member has a super power! Jungwon - Enhanced speed, Sunoo - Levitating, Jake - Pyrokinesis, Heeseung - Telekinesis, Sunghoon - Enhanced Strength / he's a hybrid of a vampire and werewolf. We don't know Ni-ki or Jay' s super power but Ni-Ki is always teleporting and floating in the MVs LOL. I would recommend starting with Given-Taken since that's there debut and where the storyline starts.

usually there are members born in countries where the main language is English (Canada, USA, Australia, England...) and as they are of Asian descent, they join the groups. that's why sometimes their English in the song sounds perfect, it could be a native who is singing. (there are also Koreans who speak good English but they are less common)

(imo) the thing about tomboy is that they wanted to send the message that girls and boys can be boyish or girlish, they can go out of the society normalized norms. thats why they said "it's neither man nor woman, just me idle". they don't want to be described just as a girl group because they are girls, they want to be seen as a group that can do all concepts, girly and boyish (thats why they wore skirts/girly clothes and wore suits with leather which is associated with men that are gangsters)

I love Babymonster but their debut song could've been better because they have so much potential and it's very visible. Rami, Pharitas and Rora's vocals are super good, Asa, Ruka and Ahyeon's vocals and especially their rapping is very enjoyable, and Chiquita's facial expressions are always on point! I'm glad Sheesh did them justice. ALSO LOVE THE FACT THAT SHE WAS COMPLIMENTING ENHYPEN SO MUCH. THEY DESERVE MORE RECOGNITION!!
