Vanishing Clues of the Bent Pyramid

The Bent Pyramid at Dahshur remains a woefully neglected monument in desperate need of scientific scrutiny. The unique shape of the pyramid is amazing, but the story of the Bent Pyramid goes far beyond a change in slope.
Deep inside the pyramid are many clues which are disappearing in the modern era. These pieces of the puzzle need to be restored in order for the full history of the pyramid to be understood, which can perhaps explain it's unique role in Egyptian history.
Can Egyptology come to terms with how this pyramid's excavation was botched - and is there any hope of scrutinizing the evidence which becomes fainter with each passing season?

  • This video was a huge effort, so thanks to everyone who has been waiting patiently. The Bent Pyramid is one of the most difficult pyramids to cover, and it's important to get the facts correct. I always learn something new when diving in deep, and this video was no exception. Soon I'm off to Egypt, and hopefully I can take some pictures that will really start to bring this mysterious pyramid into the light.

  • Great stuff. I'm an architect. I had to memorize the names and dates and correct spelling of all the "important" pyramids and temples in egypt when I was in architecture school in 1980s. Tests were "fill in the blank" and litterally 1/2 of my class failed Architectural Histroy. It was the toughest non-design studio class I ever took. Harder than physics. I learned almost nothing from that architectural history ordeal. Except how to spell "Hatshepsut" correctly. I was always frustrated by the way these magnficent and mysterious structures were presented in my history classes. I wanted to know more about the culture and people who created them. I wanted to understand their context - their reason for being. Your work is meticulous. You mock that waste-of-skin Zahi Hawass on a routine basis. This is greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work!

Hopefully a legitimate researcher will go in that direction and photograph the faded petroglyph you speak about as well as other interior wall and ceiling spaces in all the pyramids to see if there's anything there beyond human sight.

(And the ancillary Mastabas, etc.) I always found it fascinating how they used false tunnels, hidden passageways, and blocking stones. A few videos ago I mentioned that I hoped you’d do videos on other pyramids soon, so seeing this made me happy and excited to watch. I feel like this pyramid, as well as many others besides the Great Pyramid, are almost criminally understudied in the modern era on KZhead. I often feel very hungry for knowledge on other Egyptian pyramids and monuments, because there just isn’t much attention given to them currently imo. So thank you for putting in all the work to make this video. This pyramid is extremely interesting to me, it’s so different and unique from others and I feel like there are MANY things left to be discovered/understood about it if it were just given more attention. • All the pre-Giza pyramids are my favorite. I will say that I listened to him carefully when he commented on the idea that the angle change was a mistake, and he didn't use wording strong enough to imply he didn't believe it to be the case--just that he didn't seem to think it was a forgone, 100% definite, conclusion. Me, not being an expert in the remotest sense, does wonder if it could have been to help deter access to the upper part of the pyramid, but I believe there is a lot of good evidence that it was primarily to correct the stability issues.

  • Thank you for an additional look inside this odd looking structure. This video helps provides greater clarity on the layout of the pyramid, although the how's and why's for its' construction remain obscured by "the sands of time." I think we viewers benefit from the extra time you've had to "mull it over," and I, for one, can better understand your fascination with these mysteries after this video, and reviewing the first, longer one. It's certainly a weird looking pile of rocks -- not at all a monument that would be considered as elegant. It looks damn hot and uncomfortable in there, and seeing the bats hanging on the wall makes my "skin crawl," as my mother used to say. After all your expense in time and dollars to get in there again, I sincerely hope that nothing hinders your access to those places requiring more attention and further exploration. Wishing you smooth sailing, unhindered exploration, and a great trip, overall. I look forward to viewing your next Indiana Jones moment.

  • I heard from a credible source that this bent pyramid wasn't a mistake but intentionally created with that specific shape. It's the combination of two very symbolically important sacred geometric shapes, as well as their relationship to one another further strengthens the case that this was indeed intentional following the original design, in addition supports many architectural clues that sacred geometry played a significant role in the creation of many of the megalithic monuments showing incredible intellectual prowess encoding many secrets within the precision of the design and execution, for example the great pyramid and the earth, moon relationship amongst the other multiple mind blowing synchronicities. Look into the sacred geometric reference for this bent pyramid, egyptologists are all too happy to tell everyone that visits this site that it was a mistake that evaded being noticed until halfway through the monument, as if such an oversight if true wouldn't have been realized in the design phase long before the build would begin. Keep at it, I enjoy your analytical approach to finding out the truth rather than speculation or regurgitating the same academically accepted 💩.

  • Absolutely brilliant! This video was the highlight of my day!! I was struck by the recurrent theme of modification over the generations. The other thought was that the skill to build such a structure is in sharp contrast to the cartosh

  • Nice, dude. So glad you're back. I have been patiently waiting and was not disappointed. You got a little spicy there for a minute when talking about foolish cleaning projects. I like it. This pyramid has a lot to say, I'm glad we get to hear some of it from you. Also, I dig the outro music. Shit goes hard. Cant wait to hear whats next. Did you see AA's thing about the "new" big void stuff? You gotta have thoughts on that. Much love, be well homie.

  • The Bent Pyramid's recent past reminds me of what happened to a Texas shrine called the Alamo. Restoring that shrine as a tourist attraction and attempting to beautify it for the greater glory of Texas has changed the site and may have eliminated artifacts. On the other hand, that section of San Antonio has been continuously built over during the 19th and 20th centuries and new construction continues because the Alamo is part of a living city. I don't have to stray far from home to see Progress erasing the past.

  • Loved watching this informative video, thanku ! Especially as many of the clues have been removed, i would just love to be able to watch a video taken through the ages of the actual, factual history of these places, maybe one day ?!
