About Rifle:
A rusted rifle needed more work and time than making a katana out of it. But still I didn't want to destroy the rifle but having a katana is way more amazing than a piece of junk. Thanks to People for sending us amazing items. Try not to comment me about destroying the rifle as it was a piece of junk. Thanks
All the Processes are below of making this beautiful KATANA:
Forging:
It took me almost three to four days to hand forge a Rifle Barrel into a long Metal Strip and this was a challenging forging due to lack of steel. I learnt a lot while forging this Katana. I don't have a power hammer so it is not easy to hand forge a giant piece of steel.
Grinding:
I started some rough grindings on my 4x36 Belt sander. Hand sanded the edges with the help of file to remove almost all the roughness of the sword.
o. The blade bevel was made by my professional 2x82 BELT GRINDER.
o. Hand Sanded the blade to remove irregularities.
Hardness:
There is a professional way to harden a Katana and that is
As the Barrel steel is not much harder due to low carbon content in it. According to my knowledge it was 1041 steel with 0.41% carbon content which is pretty low to make a katana. But still we put the sword into the fire and heat it to particular temperature. We use oil to Quench the heated sword in it. Now the Bevel is hard and the remaining sword is annealed. Tempering the blade is the best way to increase the Strength, Hardness and Toughness of the sword.
Nordic GOLD:
This is an alloy of copper including 89% Copper (Cu), 5% Zinc(Zn), 5% Aluminium(Al), 1%Tin(Sn). This metal has pretty much same colour as Gold. But it is very hard material as steel while grinding So this was a beautiful choice to make katana handle parts.
Hibaki:
This piece is traditionally made by forging some copper or brass but we can also make it by casting process. I made the Hibaki with casting of Nordic Gold via lost wax casting technique. And the purpose of hibaki is to hold the Sheath with the handle.
Handle:
The Handle contains these parts.
o. GUARD: I made the guard by casting a sheet of Nordic Gold, which is beautiful turned into a pretty Katana guard. The purpose of the guard was to protect the wielders hand. When blocking a sword strike it is very common for the opponents swords to continue sliding down your blade. The guard creates a solid stopping point saving the wielders hands and fingers from injury or amputation.
o. Wood: A nicer piece of wood uses as a handle. After some hand carvings it gets a perfect fitting according to katana. leatherette were used to cover the handle and I wrapped it with beautiful black ribbon.

But the question now remains, is it possible to turn a katana into a gun?

To everyone who sees this comment, keep pushing in life and never give Up. Can't wait to see you successful one day and May God Bless You! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Love it but sad at the same time would of loved to see you restore the rifle
Not the martini Henry!
Same
True
In fact, the sword he made is useless, it has several cracks and was badly tempered... if you hit it with something solid it will break, and if you do a flexibility test it will surely bend or break. It is only used for display or cutting very soft objects.
I agree, it would’ve been better if he restored the rifle
This man not only only cares for his weapons but also his flowers. Truly beautiful
Definitely. I think with the details like those flowers, its way more satisfying than the satisfying videos.
This comment is ridiculous lmfao if that were so he would've restored it
If you knew what kind of rifle that was you’d choose your words differently
So, "caring" for his weapons means destroying an anticque Martini Enfield and forging a cheap looking katana out of it?
@@RabenmundK it's a nice gun or was
Does anyone realize what what he destroyed? That's a Martini Enfield. That barrel itself was relatively rare. I've been hunting for years just for an extractor, breechblock, and stock set....
Oof that must have been hard too watch
sad
Yes and I am in pain cos of it....I want to cry
...and it's been turned into what would pass for a $20 gas-station mall-ninja sword. Shameful.
I was enraged by this video, seriously the total lack of respect for the fire arm was amazing.
I absolutely love your sense of humor while you are making such great pieces of art.
the best thing about watching his videos is noticing the development. hes become so much more talented and refined when it comes to forging and restorations compared to when he first started posting videos. his craftmenship is now on another level and i love to see it. keep it up man!
Not only the forging quality went up but also the video quality
The rifle looks like a Martini enfield or a henry, and those are pretty valuable, his knowledge did not improve.
@@wacky_duck1095 hater🤣.
@@TheHourYouTurnGold its a pain to watch something as valuable like that be destroyed and smelted into some wannabe katana, its like destroying a king tiger for a honda civic.
@@wacky_duck1095 you clearly don’t understand his content bro. He reforges and does blade restorations and also created them. To my knowledge he’s not a gun restoration expert or a gunsmith in gun smith and this is coming from someone whose watches him for years. If you looking for some who does that type of general work you’re on the wrong page. I feel what you’re saying, but your comment is out of context to what his skills and craft are. Understand his craft then you’ll understand why he turned that into a gun. Besides, people also sends him things to specifically do this. Not restore guns. One of his His ultimate arts is turning a completely different object into things like that.
As a gun lover, it broke my heart to see a restorable Martini Henry destroyed. The end result was cool, just sad to see the rifle gone. Also for the before and after at the end, you showed a Mauser bolt action instead of the Martini Henry. You may have mixed up some footage.
Interesting. I thought I was losing my mind when I saw the bolt at the end.
And well… restorable, but at very, very high cost. And those types of restorers are rare and scattered. The owner may not have been able to invest, but wanted to keep some portion of the relic - with new life - in the family. Moreover, they just aren’t worth as much as it would cost to restore it. Likely, by a wide margin.
@@KristiLEvans1 Marini Henry rifles are very expensive right now and it looked complete, just rusty. It would not have taken a whole lot to get it running again, assuming there was no major internal damage we couldn't see.
@@hallofguns8174 there were large caches of those guns recently found, well-intact, in Asia, so the prices have gone down lately. The owner may not have had the money, nor been near the type of expert who can and would restore such a weapon. I agree with you, in general, however.

Yeah well it isn’t a traditional katana
Agreed! Too much of a curve.
@@tristankramer4636 technically it is. that curve resembles a tachi
@@bl1zzard234 Not really, a Tachi doesn’t bend that much either, and a tachi isnt a katana either.
Yeah, a Katana's curve comes from the quenching, because of the different hardness of steel created by the procedure that makes the Hamon. When quenched it curves, it is not made curved, the curve is technically a defect caused by the Hamon. There was a guy that was making some sword and his sword was curving mysteriously, until he got what was happening and he made a reverse curve in the original blade, and when quenched it became straight.
Why. Why. WHY. Why of all rifles you could’ve done this with, you decided to destroy a Martini Henry. A MARTINI HENRY!

That gun had light rust and would have been easy to restore at home. Idk why you destroyed it for no good reason. Thing was overall clean and complete.
It's his, he can do what he wants with it. I, personally, would have kept the rifle, but it's his decision to make.

On the other, it's sad to see something with that much potential historical significance get neglected to that point. There's no way to know exactly how old it was but the action is a Martini-Henry one and the design goes back to the 1870's.
