I've been riding a long...long time (yeah, maybe I'm getting old :) Anyway, these things are exactly what the Japanese bikes USED to be. The Japanese machines were affordable, fun alternatives to the European offerings. Now these are affordable, fun alternatives to the European and Japanese offerings. I'm actually happy to see these being brought into the country. They'll allow a bunch of kids to start riding.
Everything from China is still a dice roll buyer beware.
@@Kyle_gallegher For sure.
@@Kyle_gallegher As a side note, many of us GenX dirt bike riders remember when the Japanese bikes, mainly the dirt bike side of things, were a dice roll too. I can site one example (but there are many more). The 89 Kaw KDX. Bike came with a cylinder lining that was too thick. If you wanted it to run right when it was brand new, you had to take out the piston and sand it down a bit, otherwise the bike would seize when hot. No recall. No warranty. You bought it. You took care of it. That's one of the big examples. So that's the perspective many of us are coming from. The darn Japanese and European bikes are so darn good now. Many of the "better" Chinese bikes (the ones that get up close to and over $5000) are at least up to the standards of 90's - early 00's Japanese machines...and those were pretty good machines, not what they are now, but still solid and better engineered by then. Now the bikes that are around $2000...hmmmm... yeah, that's a huge roll of the dice. Sometimes you win. Sometimes you don't.
the jap bikes were quality. the chinese are death traps.
I just realized I'm one of those kids haha. My first 3 bikes were Chinese bikes. It what you're saying here is the truth. They're affordable fun alternatives to Japanese and European offerings.
First two mins of the video and I can already tell I’m dealing with two geniuses😭🤣
I definitely lost braincells watching this
You guys are so lucky to own one dirt bike my dream is to own a dirt bike to ride around in I've been wanting one ever since I was like 4 and plus I could have got one but they are too expensive and I am so sad I want one so so so bad and watching your guys' videos make me want one even more! :( I love your content and subscribed a while ago

Definitely buying one. Re-jet the carb slightly for more torque and top speed. Maybe work on airbox if needed. Perfect little dirt bike for goofing off
bro send me the link bro please
Straight pipe it too.
I've seen that some fellas buy a different carb and open air filter for these china bikes that flows a little more and has more adjustability, I believe that costs around $100. Amazon usually offers it as a bundle with some of the bikes and the reviews mention it as well.

i bought this exact bike as a pit bike in 2021 and it can take an absolute beating and honestly i havent had hardly any issues with it other than the back tire spokes breaking.
name of it?
Where did you buy it and what’s the make
Yeah i bought my first pit bike when i was like 12 (long time ago before all the bigger brand ones) i owned 3 of them and they were all pretty solid for cheap chinese bikes but spokes were always the first thing to go and plastics were always brittle so snapped and cracked easy, other than that though they were all very reliable worst failure i had was shredded the teeth off second gear on my first one (dream 110 semi automatic) just skipped second until that got stolen then bought manual ones after that and they only ever had spoke and plastics break, but then i realised they were far too small and bought a yz250 and never looked back lol
“This water is from china” it’s battery acid buddy😂😂😂
haha
I think he knows he was being sarcastic the whole video lol
Funny you say that, my friend had a battery that took distilled water.
My dumba$$ thought it was water 😂😂😂
It's sulfuric acid mixed with distilled water
The amount of detail they put on the plastics on these can unease bikes is surprising
This is how KZhead used to be

I've had a Chinese cruiser since 2007 and it still looks ok and still starts of the button i changed the sprockets and carb instantly I also took it all to bits and coated the bolts and frame in rust protector it has never let me down and manages to turn heads as it has a unique look

If you get a bigger, better carb and play with the jet sizes a little they really open up. The stock carbs are really underwhelming and these bikes run extremely lean from the factory.
Bigger sprocket in back and smaller sprocket in front will give u the low end u need and better wheelies!!
Bro was that a dirt bike swing set??? Lol that was amazing.😂
Upgraded jet kit on that or carb upgrade plus new jet kit would make that a lot faster and a new exhaust upgrade as well you’ll see the difference for sure you’ll be able to do wheelies on it a lot easier as well
The exhaust system is, likely, restricted. The welds are not dressed down, inside the exhaust piping. The bike will lose the, strange mid - range running and increase acceleration and top end, when cleaned out. The smaller a Chinese engine is, the greater the exhaust system restriction will be. That's the average rule of thumb for American consumers. Good video, here! That's an awesome old Honda 4wheeler!👍
Bro why can’t I find a KX style exhaust system for my kids Chinese bike, the gasket end isn’t the same? Like my sons is bolt on and the ones I’m looking for look screw on?
@@jackwolstenholme8213 Cutting the flanges off the pipes and switching the Chinese mufflers flange to the fat - pipe that you have mounted in position. It takes, very little, mig welding and it will function fine. Wrap the pipe with fiberglass exhaust wrap. It prevents burns and looks fine.

Been riding for over 2 years, started on a pitster pro 150, wrecked that 08/20/23 at 7:14pm and broke my hand in the wreck, went up to Honda and bought a 250f on 08/22/23 at 12:36pm, been enjoying the upgrade a lot and so has my dad
what the fuck
I bought this bike against a lot of peoples advice… I sold it 5 months later.. To be honest, it’s not bad to get a brand new bike for that cheap and you can have a lot of fun on it but now with my experience, I’d give the same advice as everyone else… If you can afford a nice brand name bike, do it. If you can’t, find a used one for the price you’d pay for this. The reasons- •Parts. You get what you pay for, like cheap rims and aluminum gas tanks with faulty welds that crack in less than a month of super easy riding.. Or dry rotted hoses that came with it.. Or cheap leaky acid batteries.. Or a rear break mounting mechanism that rips the caliper off when using it facing the top of a steep incline.. •Parts, but again: You may think “Oh, I can use pretty much any parts from a Honda 230 or some other bike!” Lol, there’s some that are interchangeable but pretty much everything you can expect to crap out soon is proprietary, and ya know the ONLY place you can get most the parts for it? A website based out of the Netherlands, so you wait about a month to get your poly gas tank so you can ride again, you put it on and then your rear brake fails the next ride and you get to wait another month if the Texas site doesn’t have it in stock! •Power: This was my first bike, so it was great to learn on but I quickly found myself needing more. You can still get just about anywhere other bikes can, but you’re not bringing the front up over a rut on dirt in 2nd or higher, so if you ride with experienced friends you will not keep up on certain terrain and they will have to constantly wait for you. Once all the things that can be helped are remedied, it’s a pretty solid bike and would even be practical if you got the street version where it’s legal, but for anything else I’d suggest go with the normal green blue or red, even if it is 5-10 years old. If you STILL buy this thing like I did though, just do yourself the favor and order a poly tank right away, along with a decent battery. I’d also recommend buying new wheels, if you hit a sidewalk crack too hard with the stock ones they will bend and warp. You’re going to want to re-jet it right away as they come super lean but that’s pretty cheap and easy. Lastly, and I know it’s a pain in the ass, learn how and adjust the valves. With just a valve adjustment and re-jet the bike will feel MUCH better. Hope this advice helps someone, and would love to see an update video 6 months to a year from now.. But I’d be willing to bet a couple bucks this bike won’t still be around by then 😂
A last side note- It is possible to rejet the stock carb, but you will have to drill brass plugs out of the holes that hold it together without drilling into the screws underneath. It was a pain in the ass though and I still messed up, so I’d recommend just spending the $25 on a cheap replacement when you rejet it
hey i live in the netherlands, i need one kf these
how much does it cost?
@@nikosvr8813 It cost me $2,047 assembled from Orion Powersports, but you can save a couple hundred by assembling yourself

This was sick to watch so raw, not the best riders but can ride 💯 sick vid and yeah it’s not a main manufacturer bike shiiid your having fun and what it’s about 🔥

thanks fellas, y’all reminded me of so many days of doing all the same things in this video back when i was y’all’s age. if only youtube was as big back then so we could have been making money off the silly vids we use to make.
you were having that thing in high gears for such a low speed, it's not good to bog down a motor, especially a Chinese bike. Just a heads up but gl with the new dirt bike!
i was hoping to find smo who commented this or else i was
Rev the bike out more and you'll get the torque ur looking for
I have to say I bought a Chinese Apollo 110cc and I’ve had no problems with it. It was my first bike but I will say one difference between me and them was that I got like from a dealership so it was built my professional mechanics and they test ride the bikes before they sell them
I have a xmoto 125cc and I throw that thing around like crazy, surprisingly reliable bike, only problem I’ve had it popping inner tubes, and I ride it daily
For the price u are much better off buying a used Honda
No kidding, could probably buy two used Japanese dirt bikes for that price.
Yeah a 110cc
Were can you find a used 250 Honda under 2200 from? Everyone is taxing for them bro
Yeah buy a used Honda for 2800 that has "3 hours on the new build" and then ride twice and put 1700 into it to fix your blown motor... used dirtbikes are a scam
Bruh I bought one Hondaxr 70used and it was 1k
These type of bikes are the perfect beginner bike, they are cheap for brand new the performance is decent and a great bike to learn on, then if you decide riding is something for you buy something more expensive and serious, this is also safer because your learning on a slower bike and step up speed as you step up your skills.
The funniest lookin machine i done ever seen the handlebars are what get to me most 😂
Hows it even running??? at 8:40 you look at the on off switch, the switch is off lol, did you guys unplug the switch or something?
"I'm not a biologist or anything but it felt closer to 50 not 70" lmfao
yo
A way to get that to run better it put a new carburetor on it
i love the apollos. i have 2 of their 110s. but for 2,200 i’m definitely buying a used klx250 or a older 450
The information I found online says it has a top speed of 70mph! If that's true, then it won't hurt to put on a larger rear sprocket for a little more torque/acceleration instead of top speed. Then it won't be so hard to pull a wheelie, and yet you could probably still get a top speed around 55 or so. Also, with the larger sprocket, it'd be a little better for the slow riding through the woods trails, or if you're making your own trail and need to get over a log or rock.
when you feel like your gonna eat it when wheeling use the back brake.
“80,000 rpm’s per millisecond”.
I’ve thought about buying a cheap Amazon bike so many times I just don’t have a place to ride nor do I have something to transport it with and I just can’t justify having to rent a uhaul pick up every time I want to ride lol. Not to mention storage since I live in an apartment.
Nice tutorial. First ride on a new bike, with tshirt and no helmet. Good job.

Would highly recommend a new carb my 140 tao doesn't bog that much compared to a more high end kawasaki 250 it this apollo bogs alot ut looks and sounds like but even if it doesn't seem that bad I'd recommend a new one I remember what min sounded like before and after u just get more power and more responsiveness overall and it feels like it should
nice bike bro
Bought a 250cc china-bike some years back (might have been Apollo, don't remember) and it was great, until both tyres popped when I jumped down about a meter, the exhaust decided to gut itself causing the sound to be cool but literally ear-deafening and the chinesium rusted all over, and tons of other shit. Buy a used Kawasaki, KTM or Yamaha instead 😂
Actually the APOLLO DB-X18 125cc Dirt bike is the cheapest full size dirt bike coming in at 800$ no electric start but it goes about 65-70 MPH on the highway its fun
Im a moped mechanic in the Netherlands, and the 50cc version of these things are made road legal here. Which is basically exactly the same, but with a 50cc engine. So we see these things coming in a lot for maintenance etc. But these things are terrible reliability wise, moving parts wear out extremely quickly, they have bad build quality, and almost no quality control. We see these things sometimes come from the factory, having driven not even 1000km's, and already with terrible problems like bad crank bearings, bad headset bearings etc.
This shit is going for 1500 right now
ALL Glory to God.

When you buy a new motorbike you should always use the kickstart if it has never been started before so the fuel can get to the carburettor easier
