  • I've been riding a long...long time (yeah, maybe I'm getting old :) Anyway, these things are exactly what the Japanese bikes USED to be. The Japanese machines were affordable, fun alternatives to the European offerings. Now these are affordable, fun alternatives to the European and Japanese offerings. I'm actually happy to see these being brought into the country. They'll allow a bunch of kids to start riding.

    • @@Kyle_gallegher As a side note, many of us GenX dirt bike riders remember when the Japanese bikes, mainly the dirt bike side of things, were a dice roll too. I can site one example (but there are many more). The 89 Kaw KDX. Bike came with a cylinder lining that was too thick. If you wanted it to run right when it was brand new, you had to take out the piston and sand it down a bit, otherwise the bike would seize when hot. No recall. No warranty. You bought it. You took care of it. That's one of the big examples. So that's the perspective many of us are coming from. The darn Japanese and European bikes are so darn good now. Many of the "better" Chinese bikes (the ones that get up close to and over $5000) are at least up to the standards of 90's - early 00's Japanese machines...and those were pretty good machines, not what they are now, but still solid and better engineered by then. Now the bikes that are around $2000...hmmmm... yeah, that's a huge roll of the dice. Sometimes you win. Sometimes you don't.

  • The exhaust system is, likely, restricted. The welds are not dressed down, inside the exhaust piping. The bike will lose the, strange mid - range running and increase acceleration and top end, when cleaned out. The smaller a Chinese engine is, the greater the exhaust system restriction will be. That's the average rule of thumb for American consumers. Good video, here! That's an awesome old Honda 4wheeler!👍

  • I bought this bike against a lot of peoples advice… I sold it 5 months later.. To be honest, it’s not bad to get a brand new bike for that cheap and you can have a lot of fun on it but now with my experience, I’d give the same advice as everyone else… If you can afford a nice brand name bike, do it. If you can’t, find a used one for the price you’d pay for this. The reasons- •Parts. You get what you pay for, like cheap rims and aluminum gas tanks with faulty welds that crack in less than a month of super easy riding.. Or dry rotted hoses that came with it.. Or cheap leaky acid batteries.. Or a rear break mounting mechanism that rips the caliper off when using it facing the top of a steep incline.. •Parts, but again: You may think “Oh, I can use pretty much any parts from a Honda 230 or some other bike!” Lol, there’s some that are interchangeable but pretty much everything you can expect to crap out soon is proprietary, and ya know the ONLY place you can get most the parts for it? A website based out of the Netherlands, so you wait about a month to get your poly gas tank so you can ride again, you put it on and then your rear brake fails the next ride and you get to wait another month if the Texas site doesn’t have it in stock! •Power: This was my first bike, so it was great to learn on but I quickly found myself needing more. You can still get just about anywhere other bikes can, but you’re not bringing the front up over a rut on dirt in 2nd or higher, so if you ride with experienced friends you will not keep up on certain terrain and they will have to constantly wait for you. Once all the things that can be helped are remedied, it’s a pretty solid bike and would even be practical if you got the street version where it’s legal, but for anything else I’d suggest go with the normal green blue or red, even if it is 5-10 years old. If you STILL buy this thing like I did though, just do yourself the favor and order a poly tank right away, along with a decent battery. I’d also recommend buying new wheels, if you hit a sidewalk crack too hard with the stock ones they will bend and warp. You’re going to want to re-jet it right away as they come super lean but that’s pretty cheap and easy. Lastly, and I know it’s a pain in the ass, learn how and adjust the valves. With just a valve adjustment and re-jet the bike will feel MUCH better. Hope this advice helps someone, and would love to see an update video 6 months to a year from now.. But I’d be willing to bet a couple bucks this bike won’t still be around by then 😂

    @greengrind5089@greengrind5089 Жыл бұрын
    • A last side note- It is possible to rejet the stock carb, but you will have to drill brass plugs out of the holes that hold it together without drilling into the screws underneath. It was a pain in the ass though and I still messed up, so I’d recommend just spending the $25 on a cheap replacement when you rejet it

  • The information I found online says it has a top speed of 70mph! If that's true, then it won't hurt to put on a larger rear sprocket for a little more torque/acceleration instead of top speed. Then it won't be so hard to pull a wheelie, and yet you could probably still get a top speed around 55 or so. Also, with the larger sprocket, it'd be a little better for the slow riding through the woods trails, or if you're making your own trail and need to get over a log or rock.

So we see these things coming in a lot for maintenance etc. But these things are terrible reliability wise, moving parts wear out extremely quickly, they have bad build quality, and almost no quality control. We see these things sometimes come from the factory, having driven not even 1000km's, and already with terrible problems like bad crank bearings, bad headset bearings etc.
