  • When I was a kid in the early 2000's, my dad gave me a DVD collection with the entire Generation 1 series, a copy of the 1986 movie, and his childhood toy of G1 Soundwave. I think for about an entire year of my childhood that series was all I would watch and I transformed that Soundwave so much it unfortunately broke. I absolutely loved the series and that toy, and it has led to a life long love of this whole franchise. Even the parts of it I'm not a huge fan of still have a soft spot in my heart. Watching this retrospective made me emotional, and I'm about to shed a tear seeing how the Transformers has evolved and lasted for so long. Even though I wasn't born in the 80s, Generation 1 was still my introduction to this franchise and seeing just how far it has come is insane. Thank you so much for making these, they're some of the best videos on this platform. Transformers Superior

    @spoonsboy@spoonsboy Жыл бұрын
    • I had a similar experience. My mum's boyfriend at the time gave me his G1 Compendium, which featured every character from the G1 Show and Movie; as well as their bios, stats, catchphrases etc etc. I wasn't as big into the Transformers as I am now, until the first Bay film. Then I went onto Animated, Prime, RiD, WFC and so on. It's probably my most treasured piece of Transformers history I own now. The book is sadly falling apart nowadays, but I still love reading it from time to time.

    • Prime Wars Trilogy was beautiful, a masterpiece. Idk why people didn’t like it. It was ignoring season 3 a bit plus it was a faithful successor to TFTM 1986. Also Scramble City ignoring the humans too. It ended everything very well. I would say it canonically ended the entire universe exceptionally. Tatsunoko did the animation plus the key animations were beautiful. The detailed design was an upgrade from G1 but in my heart and humblest opinion was the best closure. TF Prime was good too, perfect story and War For Cybertron Games. Is good 😎👍👍

  • What a fun retrospective. While I realised I haven't engaged much in most of its media compared to its fans, Transformers will have a place in my heart for engaging me in a fiction about 2 factions made up of cool looking robots with a ton of heart. While I'm not a fan of the Bay movies, I've been recently checking out several Transformer shows I've missed out on. Animated has become one of my favorite alongside Prime and this retrospective helped shed some light on what people love about Beast Wars (the dated CG had turned me away from delving too deep).

    @BentoBoxBobbyTV@BentoBoxBobbyTV Жыл бұрын
    • Bumblebee was god awful.....Im sorry you thought the first 3 minutes of it was so amazing, that they literally admitted was never originally meant to be in the film and was added more or less because they were tired of 40 year olds crying about not seeing any of the war on cybertron. The rest of it was literally worse than any of the other movies. The first 3 movies are highly watchable, the last 3 are not and who would have thought that even Michael Bay might have gotten tired of making Transformers movies every couple of years for a decade....If anything the last 3 are Paramount/hasbro incompetence, they obviously didn't want to put any effort into finding someone after Bay made the first 3

There were tons of little nods and easter eggs to the series and the 1986 movie. The gameplay is fun, the graphics look great, and there is a lot of replay value. Every fan of Transformers should give this game a try.

With no real cartoons, movies or comics to fill our hearts throughout this 2020s era, I'm really looking forward to Rise of the Beasts hoping we will see our well deserved second age of outstanding transformers media

  • The best thing about the rooster teeth trilogy was the toy line. The toys were inspired by G1 and beast wars and did a fantastic job in my opinion. I actually collected all the beast wars toys that came with the kingdom line and they are very VERY respectful to the original toy line from the 90s. Some people even say that they are mini masterpieces

I'm not usually one for the really long video essays and whatnot, but as a fan of the 'Golden Age' of Transformers, I had to watch this. You've now inspired me to go back and rewatch all the old shows I would usually turn a blind eye to and I just can't thank you enough for this love letter to our favourite multi-platform franchise. Not to mention your extraordinarily cohesive formatting of almost 10 hours of content and your very relieving humour throughout which even made me chuckle aloud at times. Seriously an underrated channel and I can't believe your MCU retrospective has more views than this... perhaps I ought to go watch that too. Anyway, just wanted to thank you again and apropos for such a high quality piece of entertainment for all of us Transformers fans.

  • I watched all four videos. As a kid who watched every episode of G1 as it aired and held on through beast wars, it was cool to see the rest of my childhood friends and where they evolved over the years. Thank you for this. It was very detailed and very good!

  • I literally watched all three episodes before this, and so far I'm loving this last episode- I was so hyped up for this, I watched the Star Wars retrospective and three out of the four marvel retrospectives to pass the time! I really love your retrospective style, but i wont get into exactly why because everyone else has explained it way better than i could. gotta say though, keep up the good work!

  • Dude. I just binged all 4 parts in 2 days. Amazing retrospective, the detail and your delivery of the content was excellent. You took me on a Transformers that started a few years before I was born, all the way to 30 year old me who was excited that Beast Wars was coming to the big screen (which was great for the most part); thank you for helping me relive the memories. Up next is watching the HP retrospective with my brother. Keep up the good work man!

  • i super love you gave the IDW comics the shoutout they deserved here, they helped navigate a lot of otherwise rocky times in my transformers fandom. roberts and barbers are wizards of transformers, and im super happy that nick roche has gotten further work as the character designer for earthspark... hopefully the others involved with IDW1 get further work, whether in shows or in whoever owns the transformers license going forward you did a fantastic job with this recap of transformers! there's an obvious heavy love from you towards the franchise and it was great to travel this journey from the very beginning to the modern day! edit: the mcfeely shoutout! even with his abominable "tarn down for what" pun, i appreciate the dude getting some love at the end

I saw it in the theater when I was a kid - "devastating" doesn't even cover it. Crestfallen... shaken to my core - it made me doubt the world I lived in. When they brought him back, it was the best day ever - especially bc it was a surprise. I didn't realize it was only 6 months later. Let me tell you, it didn't feel like 6 months. It was an eternity. I like TF ok, but your passion for this is contagious. It was a pleasure to hear you talk about them, and I look forward to your upcoming TF content. Keep it up!

  • Transformers WFC-Kingdom seems to me a good and interesting direction especially how it plays with all the concepts from the previous series with the help of time travel, and the villains (Galvatron and Nemesis Prime) offer through their story a way to bond the fans and the villains side and Galvatron and Nemesis also offer a morality to them (Megatron and Optimus), thus having a satisfying ending where Megatron and Optimus get to restore peace between the two sides. Anyway I appreciate your videos and your hard work and thank you for these videos.

But it was War for Cybertron and Prime that made me fall absolutely head over heels for this franchise. It’s been 16 years and I still love the franchise with every bit of me. But Transformers Prime will always hold a special place in my heart, being my all time favorite show. Everytime I think of the characters their TFP designs and voices pop up in my head. This franchise means the world to me and it’s been so fun listening to these retrospectives at work.
