    • @@truthboom And? Different horses react differently to stress and overstimulation. It overrode that particular horse’s herd instinct. Sort of like how that one horse jumped a fence to race after bikers in a marathon. It didn’t jump over fences normally, but it did in that instance. That particular horse’s herd instinct gave it a reason to jump over the fence while other horses might’ve gotten scared and ran away instead. So yeah, different horses react differently. Generally speaking, though, most horses who were _already_ running in the race would continue running after losing their rider. I’ve even seen horses with serious, death-sentence injuries try to continue running. It’s heartbreaking.

    • @@truthboom I’m sorry, what? Horses can’t hold grudges, they don’t have the brain capacity for that. They can fear someone or have reactions to things they had bad experiences with, yes, but they don’t hold grudges. Most animals can read the emotions of other animals to some extent but they still have instincts that can be hard for them to ignore. Doing math doesn’t change anything about that either.

They have now turned Bechers into little more than a Brush Hurdle. The Ditchs at Cheltenham, Newbury & Kempton are more challenging now than the Chair Fence. The remaining unique part of the course is the Canal Turn because of the 90 degree angle.

You can look it up and see that the percentage of horses dying per starting horses has increased significantly since 1989, when they first started lowering fences and evening out ditches. Search for "List of equine fatalities in Grand National".

      @jugular911@jugular9119 жыл бұрын
    • +Ísis R. Yes I know that is not a race it is a massacre, every jump a horse goes down, that's when you know there's a problem. This is one equine sport that probably has more causalities then any other equine sport. I always liked steeple chase and horse racing but when things go wrong to manyy times theres a problem.

    • Horses are herd animals, what would you do if you’re herd is running away from you? This is not a proof for fun at the race! You can clearly see that the horses try to avoid the fences whenever it’s possible! I can’t believe that people are so blind. Open your eyes and watch the video again with the mind of a flight animal. Maybe it will help to understand. If not, I feel really sorry for you.

      @johannabiehl8449@johannabiehl84494 жыл бұрын
    • Valish 20 if you don't like horse racing then why are you watching this? Horses aren't stupid, they look at the fence and decide if they fancy their chances. Horses and pull up (stop) or refuse a jump whenever they want nobody forces them. The horses feel like they are running in a herd and like it. I'm sorry but you clearly don't know much about the racing industry

Saint Are has come right back to form and has some very solid form over these fences, value at 33/1 and finally Raz De Maree which finished a well beaten 8th last year but could go close if getting a run. Is No 43 at the moment so not guaranteed to get in but value at 50/1 after running very well in the Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter last time up My five for the combination tricast are: SOLL, SAINT ARE, RAZ DE MAREE, CHANCE DU ROY and BALTHAZAR KING Good luck to all who are having a punt

However, I am still old school and prefer loose horses and the old fences as I dont want to see horses breasting the fences 3ft down as the winner did at the 13th. As we are hell bent on keeping as many horses running as possible may go some way to explain pile ups at the Canal Turn. Dont really give two hoots for the anti GN group.
