I didn't know Meffert was the creator of the Megaminx too (I knew about the piraminx). Thanks for the explanation it's been so interesting.
He manufactured it and invented the name. I don't think he actually designed the puzzle though.

as soon as you said mega, giga, tera, I thought yes that must be it because there is also kilominx. So I think it is kilobyte-kilominx, megabyte-megaminx, terabyte-teraminx, petabyte-petaminx, exabyte-examinx. by the way there is an exabyte and petabyte.

Imo a kilomix should be a 1x1 dodecahedron, if mega to giga adds 2 layers, mega to kilo should subtract two layers 😜

I was a speedcuber back in the early 80s but never entered any comps because I didn't know how to. I was also a collector and puzzle maker. Now I am a puzzle maker, puzzle promoter and KZheadr.

I don't think you can go any lower than the price, consider how complex it is. Shengshou has history of making their puzzle as cheap as possible, so this is probably the cheapest we will see it in a while

I disagree, an 11 level mass produced stickerless dodecahedron is a landmark, 8 years ago the mere idea of a 9 layer dodecahedron was mind blowing, yet here we are. Expensive? Nah fair price for research and development

Why though? It’d be like owning a stickered 17x17x17. They fall off for days during a solve unless they were all glued down
Obviously because he prefers the look of black with stickers as I do. To me stickerless puzzles look like toddlers toys. I've never had issues with stickers but then I seldom solve these days.

@@TonyFisherPuzzles Yeah, I just like black puzzles. If they don't make a black version, I might do a custom mod where I spray paint the pieces black and use some custom stickers. Unless Shengshou makes it in black. Also thanks, Tony Fisher. I love the work you put out.

this is too over the top. i can't find a gigaminx stickerless, no matter how hard i try. i have to superglue the sharp tips of the corner stickers on my gigaminx to keep them from falling off. my stickerless megaminx is as solid as a rock. i'd get the higher level ones if i could get them stickerless.
