MiG 29 was developed as the answer to the F-18. The F-16 has been flying longer then both, but the F-16 and F-18 have had a continual program of updates and enhancements to keep them on the cutting edge of operational performance.
Then ukraine should do the research to upgrade their MiG 29. I can see it happening, like putting in a better long distance rockets and long radar detection.
@@deadasfboi They are putting American weapons such as HARMS and glide bombs and using phones/garmins to replace old instruments. Unfortunately attritotion is hitting the Ukrainians more then the Russians, it would be cheaper to get F-16's. Also F-16's were kind of designed to fight Russia/USSR so we may as well let the Ukrainians do so with F-16s we donate. "But but escalation" really does not matter now that Poland ahs donated retrofitted NATO mig 29s
@@dester3275 Y'know, nations that donate equipment like that, really deserve to have replacements fast-tracked by suppliers, just to maintain regional security of course.

The r-77 missile is pretty sweet too!
77 combat missions in contested airspace heavily defended by s300 and s400 in an early 4th gen aircraft outnumbered by late 4th gen aircraft with air to air missiles with twice his range? This guy would be a rockstar in any Western airforce. This guy is a rockstar. I think F16 training would take less time than we think for some of these pilots, but they should be instructors more than pilots of the f16 at this point.
Rick start really ??? I guess you watch too much movies or is that naive….putting a pilot in a newer aircraft with different avionics with short amount of training is a death wish. When you are trained to operate a particular air, you will be pushed to the limit under heave stress so that your reaction becomes second nature. Now try that in a aircraft with different avionics and see what happens……….maybe his job is just to shoot down gas powered Iranian drones confined to Ukraine airspace and not to venture out behind enemy lines.

The grit and determination of the Ukrainian people is so inspiring. The way they maintain such positive attitudes is impressive. I believe in Ukraine! 🇺🇦

Right alongside what the young men of DDay accomplished on June 6, 1944 helping Europe, and what would have been the entire world, free itself of tyranny and evil. Certainly the biggest military upset for little Ukraine to defeat “big bad” Russia and drive them out of their land using willpower and heart despite having 1/50th of the resources Russia had the first several months of the invasion.

A toilet that was most likely stollen from Ukraine along with a washing machine and a Racoon amongst other things. *Took Soledar, a small town with a pre-war population of less than 11,000 and made some other very small tactical gains elsewhere on the frontline then talked it up like it's some kind of major strategic military victory. *Accidentally bombed their own city. *Went from 'taking Kyiv in three days' to putting air defence systems on building rooftops in Moscow. While attempting to 'de-nazify' Ukraine Russia scored an own-goal and nazified themselves.

They've come a long way in half a century. With survival rates starting at 40% and now being closer to 90%, with much of that being due to (ironically) lower speed engagements due to missions being more frequently NOE (close to the ground) at subsonic speeds due to the pervasive threat of missile defenses in all theaters today, and more fighter craft filling the ground attack role.

It's not the plane, it's the pilot that wins the fight! I have a lot of respect for this man
But it is the plane that makes the difference, It's not WW2 where pilots could offset the technological gap with their skill. Modern electronics make an enormous impact, especially in aviation. That's the reason why NATO focuses on air superiority doctrine and why Ukraine suffers such heavy losses during trench warfare. They have to slowly push through fortified enemy positions without air support, which means they have no effective way to eliminate Russian artillery and heavy weaponry that constantly harrases their troops. I wish the best for Ukraine but I can't stand the fact that we're doing the absolute minimum given the fact that most of our modern weaponry was designed to counter Russian war doctrine, which still focuses on trench warfare and throwing cannon fodder at the enemy.
A true warrior of Ukraine 💯
Absolutely astounding they still have a functional airforce more than a year later.
My guess is that when Russia amassed their forces on the border they took most of their aircraft and put them in woods with camo nets or in other places that could hide them until needed. There is no way they were at their usual assigned locations the day Russia decided to attack or they would not be flying anything at all. I told my girlfriend the day of the invasion that if Ukraine was smart there would be absolutely zero aircraft parked at their airfields for Russia to destroy....

"Karaya" was what the best German fighter pilot in WW2, Erich Hartmann wrote onto his BF109 in Operation Barbarossa.
Congratulation Karya for your bravery we will be praying for your safety ❤and prayers from USA ty Scripp News ?
Slava Ukraine, your family really proud of you ..the Ukrainian people proud of you ,thank you so much keep safe
Proud? Russia has them scared sheetless.
@@fidelcastro1706 Z as in Zero chance to win 😂 you're "proud" because that's what your propaganda tells you to be 🇷🇺 Puppet 🤡
@@TheRealBillBob Russia is the one scared sh*tless - their spring offensive fell apart now they are in defensive mode 😂 "The scenes are chaotic: Russian tanks veering wildly before exploding or driving straight into minefields, men running in every direction, some on fire, the bodies of [Russian] soldiers caught in tank tracks. Russian military bloggers are calling it a fiasco, and worse. These scenes have been recorded by Ukrainian military drones over the past two weeks around the town of Vuhledar in Donetsk, eastern Ukraine, where successive Russian assaults have failed."
@@droiduser1984 🤣 yeah right! Russia will take ukraine... Period! Matter of when! Ukraine should have not started with putting nato in Russian border cuzzy!
He looks so young. What a lad.
29 is young?
@@brettk9316 Yes, but in the full-grown adult sense. He is not 39, to call him middle-aged.
Are you 60+ to call him "so young"?😂
Yes,I can do that!😀
So brave !
This is amazing!
F-16s take a lot of maintenance as well. It's not only the pilots who would need training.
This is Top Gun.Aces of Ukraine stay safe.God Bless..
Glory to Heroes!!!
My guy ejected and instantly did an instagram story
Su-37? No, you mean either an Su-35 or an Su-57. The Su-37 is a real plane that did look like what the news portrayed it as, but it was a prototype technology demonstrator. In the Ace Combat video games, though, it's often used in actual wars just like an Su-35 would be.
Thank you, that part set my autism off as well
And then they used a graphic of a Su-34 adding to me confusion
@@BullGator-kd6ge No its the Su30 which has the canard , the su34 has a broader nose and a little different shape because its a side by side 2 seater
@@TheAddanz The Su-34 also has canards but I see the difference on my laptop. I first watched this on my phone and it looked much different.
He probably meant Su-27's. The Su-35's and 57s have only seen very limited use in Ukraine.
Great story. Can you imagine what the Ukraine AF could do if we gave them better aircraft. I’m amazed how they have been able to stand up to the Russian AF. God bless Ukraine!
They are doing a fine job with no air force.
Maybe the rest of the world should help as much as the US is
@abaddon4823 why ?
@@Bullshit1011 Not sure where you are from but lets just pretend Russia or China marched into your country and decided that because you were heading in a different political direction they didn't like that they were forcibly going to change it. Now pretend that unless you got significant help from fellow nations with likeminded societal views and ways of life your country would be destroyed and fail to exist in the form you have known all your life. Now.....after you imagine this scenario would you rather be left alone to whatever fate the invader had for you or would you rather get the military assistance you need and live to be free? Based on your answer to this question I think we can determine the answer to your "Why?".
While I support this pilot and applaud his commitment and skill it is clear that this interview is simply a propaganda piece made in order to gain sympathy and manipulate public opinion into creating a demand for the west to send F-16's to Ukraine. If in fact the west does send armaments to Ukraine it will mean we are at war with Russia. Do not swallow the propaganda people. 😔✌️
