  • According to Sue Aikens, is it a rule that one cannot fly and hunt on day of arrival? Just wondering why!

    • So you can’t spot the game from the air, and then shoot them right after. Fair chase issue.

  • Did you fly to Kotzebue ?? I thought i saw Jared's turbo Otter parked, he's with Golden Eagle. I didnt go to unit 23 this year, been hunting it since 1983. As you know they shut us out, i called Golden Eagle and Fish and game sept 22 and oct 20,,,where are the Caribou this year since we aint up there screwing up the migration ?? First call they were still up on the slopes,,,a long ways from Noatak or Kotzebue,,,,,Oct call they were getting to Noatak,,,, what a Bunch of BS blaming us,,, how's revenue in Kotz this year ???

    • Some Caribou are south of Selawik, east of Buckland now, the vast majority stayed north of the Brooks, as they went into rut before it froze up and did the rut where they were. Same thing they did 3 years ago. When it stays warm, they stay in the mountians, its bugs and flys, not planes that make them stay up there untill it freezes.

  • Very weird that you guys just land on rocks and do things. In South Africa we shall not do that. Donot think we can actually. Use small airfields and on farm air fields.

  • Spot and stalk....with a plane, it has its purpose in spotting them big moose... I know of an outfitter in the Yukon who uses several planes to fly over different areas and find where the moose are hanging out... they send the GPS coordinates to the ground crew...and Bingo... Mind you people are paying $20-40 k to get that trophy bull moose
