Great afternoon sighting as lions stalk a buffalo but more buffalo arrive and the buffalo win the day!
After spending some time with a very lazy Enkoyonai lion pride they suddenly became active and started stalking a buffalo bull. The lions soon surrounded the buffalo using the long grass as cover but the swirling wind alerted the buffalo and everything went wrong for the lions. A couple of other buffalo also noticed the commotion and came to join in! A different result to many Lion vs Buffalo clips!

The purpose of the channel is to show what it is like to experience seeing wild animals on an African safari.   • Lionesses assessed the situation correctly. Buffalos are too big, well fed and healthy. Without a big male lionesses do not stand a chance.Very good video.

    • Mara buffalo have massive bodies but their horns are less impressive than Kruger buffalo, at least so far that has been my experience.

  • If two strong male lions in the group they would have a chance. Happy to see the brave buffalos. Buffalo should stick to herd of 12 or more - two for ever lion since they have to make certain that one lion does not get on their back.

    • No, too badly damaged. It's dried up now and although it is still there it looks like there is no fluid inside so it won't work at all

    • I love it when someone asks a question I had myself. I read one of Rob’s comment elsewhere speculating the possibility of lions losing an eye during a family fight at the dinner table. One could certainly imagine it. But can you imagine walking around with your eyeball hanging out after a fight waiting for it to fall off-because that’s all you can do?

  • It’s absolutely bewildering how nonchalant this buffalo seems to behave knowing lions are near by. Why is he off grazing alone? The whole point in being a herd animal, is the safety & protection one receives. I think this buffalo really believe that his invisible cloak is authentic! Lol!!

    • He's probably an old bull , old bulls are kicked out of the herd /group and tend to lead solitary lives on the edges of the herd which makes them vulnerable to lions
