The end is here with the Ringed City. Many answers have been unveiled in the latest piece of content by Fromsoftware. Questions we have asked since the first Dark Souls game, the motives of Gael, the presence of the Gods, the origin of the Darksign, Londor and the explanation of the Ringed City. All of these questions have been answered. Although much of the lore is portrayed in a clear and concise manner, there are still some open-ended areas left open to interpretation. Wow that ending was something else I ain't gonna lie a single tear dropped from my left eye Cx. BTW Nice video keep it up!
That ending was emotional for me. As an avid dark souls player, I have to say that it was a fun ride.
Dante Del Sarto Yes man I actually came really late to the dark souls series I started with dark souls 2 scholar of the first sin then I had to go back and play ds1 and then 3 came out and I fell in love with thus series I'm sad it's over bit I feel like it's the right move to end it don't want it to be like call of duty Cx
Thanks for the compliment and glad you enjoyed the video! We tried to make the ending emotional since this is the end of one of the best franchises around, we're glad to see it worked!
OfficialBrosCode No problem and yes the Dark souls franchise is one of the best franchises of all time I will never forget the amazing experience dark souls gave me. And I can't wait to see what fromsoft bring to the table next.
My favorite part is our character is essentially the last "hero" but end up fucking it up cause they can't stop touching shit
sorry but alot of us don't want to live in women dream and face the desert of reality and make painting world that will be good home for the people , the question is , the undead cannot have babys and we all undead right now , so does that means our hero and afew NPC will stay in painting world with the same number ? :D
Filianore is Gwyn's youngest daughter. It's in the Small Envoy Banner's description. *For the pygmies, who took the dark soul, the Great Lord gifted the Ringed City,* *an isolated place at world's end, and his beloved youngest daughter,* *promising her that he would come for her when the day came.* I love this DLC so much.
A new world borne from blood, eh?
EAT BREAD a mindfuck from the 4th dimension
Great editing...
I personally ascribe to the idea that Gael is the true antithesis to Gwyn. The closest we’ll ever get to the Furtive Pygmy; not the one to find the Dark Soul, but a small, quiet man “so easily forgotten”. A slave knight, sent to fight and die over and over again until he outlived his masters. When we meet him in the Age of Ash, the culmination of Gwyn’s meddling with the laws of nature, the Dark Soul is as intact as it has ever been since the First Flame, essentially making him the New Pygmy.
Filianore is Gwyn´s last born and he gave her to the ringed city inhabitants
very nice wrap up
A final trap for the nostalgia. I'm crying
fantastic video 10/10
WOW! thanks for clearing that up for me...
idk. I think youre wrong about alot of that
Very enjoyable video I have to ask though is their an item or piece of lore that confirms the egg contained the dark soul? There seems to be multiple theories at this such as it being a transposing kiln etcand I'd like to know for certain if possible :)
Glad you enjoyed the video! We believe that the egg did at one point contain the original Dark Soul. This is because we find many of the Pygmy Lords here within the egg. The Furtive Pygmy may have once been here, or maybe the Pygmy perished long ago? Nothing is for certain, but the fact remains that The Ringed City was built to contain the Pygmy Lords, who are fragments of the Dark Soul.
I also want to add for speculation in that the contents of the egg looks a lot like the inside of the Vagrants in DS1 where they only appear when another player from another world lost an abundant of souls or humanity. Killing these crab like creatures always grants you humanity, twin humanity, or more.
I also seen that very interesting connection considering there wasn't a lot of lore behind them in the first place only ever seen one once and it wrecked my shit with a spell cast they pack quite the punch
I think Lothric eventually becomes Londor, or at least part of it. We know the heretical angelic faith is linked to Londor and we know High Priestess Emma of Lothric became a hollow pilgrim. My guess is the population of Lothric was mostly turned undead and the darkness was spreading, turning people into Pus of Man and eventually pilgrim butterflies. The angelic faith offered them a form of salvation and a duty to keep from going mad through hollowing. The religion of the Sable Church likely goes back to Kaathe though, within the Ringed City and the first men
Firelink Shrine is not from Londor. I think your thinking of an old theory that New Londo is Londor, however that was a much older theory that we and many others no longer believe. Remember the Pilgrims from the main game? Well they also exist in the Ringed City, like the comment above has already stated, High Priestess Emma also becomes one. We also mentioned that no-one mentions Londor, except characters/items from there. No other kingdom gets this kind of treatment in the game.
We can't be sure High Priestess Emma is The Old Stone Hag. Yes she has a ring of the priestess of Lothric but they could have a lot of priestess. I mean, she could also be the Shrine Handmaiden. We can't be sure of it because if she was High Priestess Emma why she doesn't recognice us?
She could simply have forgotten us. It's been a long time after all and she's a hollow pilgrim who's likely died many times. She was the High Priestess as not only does she have the ring, but her ashes confirm she was a wet nurse to royalty, a position exclusive to the High Priestess of Lothric. She also mentions Lorian as if she knew him personally, so I think it's fair to assume she is Emma.
The Hand Shrinemaiden was also a High Priestess of Lotric and all HP are wet nurses, the ring confirms this. But yeah, she's not that important and is the most important HP so it's a good conclution. I just can't imagine her being part of the pigmies of londor because I'm sure she opposed their ideals. Londor could be city for sure that existed after, before or at the same time as Lothric but I don't believe it's Lothric. Time is convoluted so it really doesn't matter if ti existed before or after, it's people are here now and that is what matters. It's just that they kept themselves in secret and, if the angel faith is true and these angels in the dreg heap are the same as that religion, we could se at a conspiration from Londor given that the only way to kill these creatures rest in the bodies of death pilgrims. Londor, like Velka, is a very prominent character/society that does things in the shadow but it exist.
Probably, Londor is the Ringed City in the future, but with a different name, like Lordran is Lothric now. The Ringed City that we visit is in the past, Filianore still alive and the Sable Church doesn't exist yet; in the age of the player, is now called Londor and we got visited by the 2 sisters and the pilgrims.
waiting on that dark souls 3 lore video maannnnnnn
What confuses me is that if Ringed City is in the future, why is it that when we go back in time to the ashen wastes, it's destroyed? But in the future (Dreg Heap) it's fine? The last act doesn't seem very fleshed out lore wise.
Ashen waste is set further in the future than the dreg heap
300th like. that ending was great
The Iron Dragonslayer Armour fucks up any theory that tries to link the Ringed City and Londor
The serpents wishing to become dragons / end humanity is a bit of a stretch. Are there any item descriptions / bits of lore to support that? Because if so, please share :)
Lapp kicks someone to fall off to say goodbye he is dumb but so fking strong the splitleaf greatsword is crazy op
pls more
❤
Ah, our gracious Lord. Make Londor whole What you said about londor makes sense because by making Londor 'whole' we 'finish' it or should I say complete/create it.
Says patches is in every souls game the nmissed out Demons souls
We missed out Demon's Souls and Bloodborne because they do not fit into the narrative of Dark Souls.
aldrich mentions the deep sea & its also mentioned in bloodborne there must be something to it & humm demon souls i think in the end you erase all magic from that world which leads to blood ( never played demon souls not rly sure of what i'm talking about . kinda heared it in some vids or reddit )
you can never be that sure sadly you can find similar stuff in souls games & bloodborne like moonlight great sword locusts
"Contains spoilers" *shows biggest spoiler in the thumbnail*
you all have no idea what you’re talking about. manus is gael ? lololol
The fact that I only played 3, and this DLC managed to elicit an emotional response from me says a lot about Dark Souls as a Franchise, wish I could go back to the old ones, but their PC versions are sadly a pile of junk :(
Dark Souls 2 runs just fine on PC, and once you download the DSFix mod, Dark Souls 1 runs great too.
please don't talk fast in lore videos
Ah the old souls lore. Like a beatifully painted house but with a shit interior, like a newly painted car with no engine, like a cocoon without a host. It will always be beautiful and an amazing world but when it's all said and done it's still an incomplete load of garbage.
It is meant to be ambiguous. Some people don't like their lore being spoon fed to them.
