  • Cole is a musical genius, he starts off by saying "You can't be everything to everybody" then proceeds to say a whole bunch of stuff he wants to be for somebody (ie his wife or whoever) meaning that truly you can't be everything to everybody but you can be everything to somebody

    • Do it fast Eminem inspired me to write my first rap a few years ago and I'm getting pretty good. When I get a good mic, and a place I can record without having to keep it quiet, and grow up a little bit so I sound a little better and like a grown up, I genuinely believe it'll all workout for me. You gotta start as soon as possible though.

      @CrimZonOnYT@CrimZonOnYT Жыл бұрын
    • @@CrimZonOnYT love this mentality. No idea how old you are but as long as you keep consistent you can achieve whatever you believe in. And the sooner you start the better. People often overemphasize the importance of "natural" talent and severely undervalue hard work. Natural talent without work ethic is useless. And very, very, very few people actually have God given natural talent. Go listen to Kendrick Lamar's very early work. It's pretty bad, and clearly just copying people like Lil Wayne. Is Kendrick so good because he has a natural gift? No, he's so good because he puts in the work, day in and day out. Same for J Cole and so many others. All that to say, I love your mindset. Don't give up and keep working, try to improve every single day. You got this shit brother

    • @@CrimZonOnYT actually checked them both out. Lyrically you ain't bad. Obviously mixing and mastering isn't very good but that's normal. I think your voice isn't bad necessarily, but it sounds like you're trying to be quiet or something. I get that if you live with parents or something, but if you could be more expressive and natural with your voice that'd sound better for sure. Also in my opinion super fast rap is cool but i would wait until you get your voice and flow down better before going for fast stuff. harder to keep on the beat and enunciate correctly. All in all, keep grinding bro. Keep making songs, keep posting them. You'll look back in a year and be amazed how much better you are. And you'll keep being able to do that every year. 5 years from now of consistent work and you could easily be close to the level of people like Kendrick. Keep writing, keep recording, keep studying the greats, and keep grinding. Keep your work ethic high and you'll be successful. I believe in you brother!

I remember getting so drunk and I would listen to this song on repeat until I completely passed out. I remember listening to this song when I hit rock bottom and blacked out for a whole day. Listening to it again put tears in my eyes and I thank God for pulling me out of the hell I put myself into back then. edit: It's been three years this month guys and I am still sober and it's crazy how much my life changed these three years. I went to university for a degree in IT and I'm currently running a small print bussines. Thank you so much for the love and kind words. I never knew I could find kindness and the support to continue from absolute strangers. For anyone else who is starting on their alcohol recovery ....DO NOT STOP. YOU WILL HEAL. Long story short I married the woman who was there to pick me up and put me back together. This verse was like he was telling MY story. For that it’ll forever be one of my favorites.
