Eclectic Dumpster Diving Haul - We LOVE the Handmade Afghan Blanket!
Hey y’all and welcome back! We are glad we got to go out and do some dumpster diving before the storms start this weekend. We found a great assortment of items today with our favorites being the large pink animal cage and of course the life-sized crochet blanket!! That is just too cool. Dumpster diving is so fun because you truly never know what you will find!

I have seen those blankets at the thrift stores.. and I have meet women who makes them.. my oldest aunt too.
The women of the old west is from late 80’s-90’s I believe Time Life put them out.
The deer are supposed to come apart for storing just so you know next time

The lack of doppler effect in the new audio set up is more striking than I thought it would be. None of your voices ever move away from "us" the camera.

The pink flower holder is vintage. It's ca;;ed a nursery planter. It was often a gift for new moms. The maide in Japan plate probably is too
Love blanket
I bet the My Pad was one of those that insurance companies provided to patients receiving home health . The care givers used them to clock in and out and get their schedules and notifications. Now care givers just use their phones. They told us patients to keep the boxes when they gave them to us, but they've never told us what to do with them now. After several fruitless inquiries, I've concluded that it costs more to take them back than they're worth. I was told by one insurance person "Just toss it". ✌
You're right! I'm a caregiver and we clock in & out using the clients home phone or our phones. Been doing it for 10 years now!

The cage can be good for the kitty too. Or for birds. They're at least $500... Is best to take the bags of goodies home and check out later some of the makeup might be fully sealed.. and nail polish too.
Suggestion on the Easter eggs. Use some 6 dry beans inside of them. And roll them for your kitty.. he will love it.. suggestion the sun will dry the bath mats if you place them on the floor..
Hello Everyone! One of the not so nice things of DD is the stinky stuff, but well worth the chance of finding treasure. 🎁 You should have taken that "diaper" thingy bag ... sometimes people put their valuables in there, like jewelry or coins.

Love that knit lady. With the wax warmer you could even use a heat safety plate to warm wax, or even turn it into a planter?
THE BLACK IRON BED HEAD AND SOOT BOARD WAS WORTH A LOT OF MONEY, MY GREAT GRANDMA HAD BEDS LIKE THAT ..THEY ARE VERY HARD TO FIND.
That was a new, reproduction one. Probably really low quality.

Sometimes I see small kittens in those cages like the pink one at the shelter, but I believe they are for ferrets and sugar gliders and other small animals.

That would be a great ferret cage!! I had mine for 7 years! I loved him so much. He was only caged when I wasn’t home. He slept at my feet under the sheets every night. He napped in a bottom dresser drawer I set up. He was corner paper trained in my kitchen or just went into his cage to go. Great dive you two!! Fun as always!!

I owned that same book when I was younger donated it to my public library .you will find it interesting 😀
I love the crocheted smiling girl. U should have kept the wet book open. Dries without mold that way.
I freakin love the pink ceramic flower holder. That afghan is pretty fun and crazy.
If you are really into that "leather bound" book,and if you feel it's worth it, as long as it's still damp, you can flatten the pages back out by putting wax paper in between each page and then wrap the book itself with a good amount of the same wax paper and put some kind of heavy weight on top of it and leave it till its dry.
It’s not worth it and it is not leather bound. They are pretty common Time Life books. That one is from the Old West series.

The fisher price item and giraffe may be worth a decent amount on eBay.

I find canvases in dumpsters and make collages. People go to art classes and just toss stuff. I make paper flowers, beads, boxes, and holiday decorations, too. Tina, Al's wife

The large, multi-level pet cages like that work great for chinchillas and ferrets!!!
