2 parallels of 2 series aren't enough to fully charge a phone. You'd need at least 10 to 20 parallels of 5.4V supercapacitors to match even one tiny li-ion power bank because charging module will stop working after the voltage drop to 4.5 volts. So, you're using only about 15% of each supercapacitor at best. You'd get better results making a led flashlight than a phone charger.
Thats why you would need a boost converter with a regulator of some sort most likely lm317 for more current and adjustable voltage if wanted. And based on the inductor on the bottom of this guys board i would assume he followed a similar concept
kzhead.info/sun/g8l8YJelaGKsdqc/bejne.html
you are lying
You could add a joule thief to drain more power
Using an up-converter (joule thief) can allow you to extract 2/3rds to 3/4ths of the potential energy in the capacitors at a useful voltage.
how many times do u have to charge this power bank to fully charge this phone 🤣🤣🤣🤣
6 to 8 times if the battery is dead
Maybe 20-150 times😂😂
because capacitor faster charging than battery
@max marrero, where are you coming up with those numbers? Each of those supercapacitors can hold roughly .5 watt hours of energy (2 watt hours total). I assumed 2/3rds of that energy can be extracted per charge cycle and I assumed a 8-10 watt hour-sized smartphone battery.
So true
So drew out my own semantic before seeing this video and was wondering if it would work. Now i know it does. Thanks bro!
Now i want to do one myself, thanks ti you and the video i know i can!
Buen proyecto...felicidades
In this serial connection, the voltage adds up to 2.7V x 4 = 10.8V. The video creator uses a module for charging lithium-ion batteries (18650). This module acts as a Battery Management System (BMS) because it interrupts the charging when the voltage reaches 4.2V; the supercapacitors are not even half charged at that point.
They are beign connected in series and in parallel in 2x2 pattern. Therefor the cumulative voltage maximum of every branch is 5,4 V and the capacity is 1000 F.
😅😅😅 that’s what I was thinking. I don’t there exist such a management board for capacitor yet…… I might have to design my own if I really wanted to make this work
Im planning to do the same but With a homemade super capacitor, what are your suggestions?
Good video. Can you put up another Super Capacitor Power Bank for charging laptops?
Waw Gooood
Greatttt
very nice
Nice work
The supercapacitor is often misunderstood; it is not a battery replacement to store long-term energy. If, for example, the charge and discharge times are more than 60 seconds
Nice
Super
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🌸🌸🌸
Looks cool and dangerous, I like it
It's not dangerous unless you want to overload it
Thanks to all the paid capacitors
How much MAH & long power bank currant cud save ?
Hello Creat very good thank you people
Hello:) This is a very smart idea and project. But i have a little problem ..maybe a mathematic problem. How calculate : 1. How long times this device gives me maximum current for example 1A. 2. Of course i wanna built model like this but maybe a 10 capacitors. THNX

Better buy a 30000mah power bank it will cost you a same..
2 Maxwell 3wh ultracap costs much as a 30000 mAh power bank although ul probably finish charging ur phone quicker with the ultracap way before the 30000 mAh reaches 100% full, so ultracap is best as power bank since when it's depleted, a couple of seconds on the wall it's full
@@shirishvasave8002 The problem with powerbanks from lithium ion batteries is that the batteries lose their capacity even not used. They last 3 to 4 years either you use or not. I purchased several powerbanks some years ago. When I purchased, it was fine, but I didn't need much, I just kept them charged. In 3 years I should have charged them some 12 times. When I needed them to really work, they were dead. They lost their capacity. Like a cellphone, the battery only lasts 3 years, if you use it or not.
nice,i wanna learn all those things, they are awesome!!!!!!and I have a doubt, that "why cant we use capacitors instead of battery in phones itself"???
energy density is too low on a super capacitor.
@@DownToEngineer so what now he got 5.5V 1000F cap.
@@arkadiuszbalcerowiak5223 It's 5.4v still at 500 Farads. It holds just about 2 watt hours of energy.
@@EdricLysharae 1000farad not 500
@@AarushA.S, heh, you sure? 😉 What happens to the Fahrad rating when two supercapacitors are connected in series to double the voltage? (A: It halves) If you want to double the voltage found in one fully charged supercapacitor, and still keep the Fahrad rating printed on that supercapacitor, you'd need 4 supercapacitors of the same rating: Two pairs, each pair initially connected in series, and then the pairs wired in parallel to each other.
Bhai same mobile me jisme aapka video dekh raha hun😘
Thankyou bro
Could you build this with 3000f super capacitors?
Yes, but that's not exactly portable.
Cool
Esme battery nhi use hoe ha kya
Ye capacitor kon sa hota hai yrr
You could also do a jlcpcb
How are u charging the super capacitor bank without a BMS?
Its good if people use superfast charging.
👌👍👍👍👍
is it advisable to use without protection boards for supercapacitors??
No
No. Be very careful with your DC voltage ceilings if you don't...
No
it is useful, but never exceed to 5v it will damage and reduce capacity. when fully charge capacitor whether high farad, the current will not pass to the fully charged caps
No
Give me a link to buy the all please
Can you charge and discharge simultaneously?
Yes, there is a guy in usa that did this, this is the future. It will replace the batteries.
How many ampere does it equal?
It's hardly 1500 mah so I don't think you can charge your phone one time and 4 caps cost around (10-15) 10000mah power bank 🤣🤣🤣 so I'll skip rather use a hand cranked charging device.
no, it's only 700 mAH 😂😂😂
You could make a larger capacitor bank with a buck converter
Can we use 2 capacitors instead of 4??
Yes , just in series connection 🙂
@@boydjakedidal1892 or in parallel with a buck converter
I wish someone could invent a way for voice to be simultaneously recorded on a video, That way you could talk and add a ton of other relevant information instead of doing a mime show
اين يباع هذه المكثفات في القاهره لاني بحثت كثير فلم أجدها وشكرا
Phone full charge capacity ? 1/2
You have to connect all in parallel to make it 2000F
yeah, but the caps are rated 2.7V only. For a phone you need a minimum 5v rated cap. By connecting 2 of them in series the caps will hold up to 5.4v.
The higher the voltage, the more efficient the charge extraction.
How do you balance those? That aint gonna last long.
you went from 1s 1p supercap. to 2s 2p supercap. battery nice job
how many minutes stay the capacitor charge ?
A few second much for 1 weeks
How to get that circuit ?
God
How can i get the blue shrinkable plastic?
It's called Heat shrink and it is available at cheap price in here India
Sir how much time is needed to charge the phone?? Can I know about the specifications?
A typical 5000 mAh battery stores 14400 Coulomb charge considering 80% efficiency , where as the capacitor bank is capable of storing 1350 Coulomb. So the power bank needs to be charged more than 10 times to charge the battery once. If we try to make a capacitor bank which capable of charging a cell phone battery in a single charge we have to use a lot of capacitor!!
These capacitors quality is weak, so, as one day after, you just cannot charging you mobile phone.
qualkity is weak defuq
quality*
They discharge themselves?
@@martinadini4142, depends on the circuit they're connected to and the quality of the supercapacitors.
Kitne mah ka h ye power bank

No you shut up😡😡😡
Wow, there are a lot of haters in these comments. Look, by power density, this is impractical, but it *does* work. I have a 16v, 1500F power bank connected to some solar panels. It keeps my smartphone and other USB devices charged with energy to spare. Barring damage, I expect this power bank to outlive me. (And I expect to live another 50 years, so you can forget that smart@$$ reply you may have just thought up.)
Is not the capacitor will release energy quickly?
Fajrul Falah that’s doesn’t make any sense what are you trying to say?
thunk at the capacitor as a battery with lower amounts of current inside but that can charge and discharge extremely faster but when something sucks that amount of electricity or charged with something powerful, if the phone charges at 2 amp the capacitor will give only how much the phone sucks out of it
Of course ooh battery short circuit hojathana
What is the charging time and discharging time.
👍👍👍
How many phones are charging these capacitor bank
not even one to 10th of the capacity... useless
"a power bank circuit" is very vague, those are 2.4v caps connected in parallel, normal power bank circuits are designed to charge up to 4.2v not 2.4v ..
Hahaha ste men
two parallel 2.7v capasitor betteries so its 5.4v
Its a combination of parallel and serial
Super fast charging!!!!!😀😀

how many times can you charge your phone with it? what is the rating in amp hour is your phone battery?
not even one time.

as you already show something. keep it going until the end. so what that loads. I'll take two wires to connect to a lemon. I will also show that it is loading. show how much energy is enough for charging a phone with a woman, do you finish halfway?
Or just be smart and do the math: Since they're supercapacitors, the amperage could be much higher than what the phone's battery could take, so speed isn't the issue. It would take about 6-8 charge cycles to fully recharge the average smartphone battery if it was completely dead.
How to charge capacitor

2000 farad is equal to 1500 mah. smartphone have 5000 mah. it can charge 30% battery. this is a very rough calculation. farad *75%=mah
the comments frighten me on how ignorant people are about the things they are surrounded by
WHATS THE ALL CAPACITY SIR.??? 🙄🙄🙄
I dont think super capacitor suitable for power bank because self discharge is too high
How can this work? Wouldn't the shit blow the mobile off?
This guy's likely to explode his house with this dangerous thing!
At first I'm sure this is fine. I'm wondering if he needs a balancer on the charge. If the capacitor wear down asymmetrically then the rig could get real hot. I just dunno how likely it is that these caps wear down at different rates.
This charge is not good for mobile
Capacitor nhi battery hai ya
It will not charge the phone Capacitor instantly discharge all their voltage and amps as soon as supply is stop. Yet it may be useful for outdoor led, small school project. Note capacitor may blast as it is not storage device of electric ion. Instead use cheap 3.7v li ion battery costing much less than these capacitor of 500 f = 500 amps Waste
doesn't this seem incredibly dangerous?
Only if you are careless. 2 watt hours discharging all at once into you won't kill you, but it would hurt.
Price ..?

I HAD A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE - The problem with powerbanks from lithium ion batteries is that the batteries lose their capacity even when not used. They last 3 to 4 years either you use it or not. I purchased several powerbanks some years ago. When I purchased, it was fine, but I didn't need much, I just kept them charged. In 3 years I should have charged them some 12 times only. When I needed them to really work, they were dead. They lost almost all their capacity. Like a cellphone, the battery only lasts 3 years, if you use it or not. The greatest stupidity is to purchase a powerbank and not use it. With supercapacitors, we don't have this problem. They have thousands of cycles, and they don't deteriorate when not used.
