  • Capacitors charge quickly and also discharge quickly. Just a 2% gain in battery percentage is not evident enough for solid performance. Please provide how long it can charge and how many times one can charge a phone (although I highly doubt it will fully charge a say 3000mAh battery even once). Thanks.

  • Total Scrap idea...supercapacitor drops voltage itself...Powerbank what u have made is not able to provide sufficient power to charged up the phone 1-2% ....This is very poor idea ...and the charging module what u have used..is also 1 Amp module...it take too much time to charged up the supercapacitors...and supercapacitor wht u used is not 500F , this is only 100F ...these are fake capacity label on caoacitor...I have measured the capacity ....

  • Cada uno de los capacitores son de 500f al conectar dos en serie se reduce a 250f,por lo que, de la forma en que están conectados,apenas todo el banco suman 750 f,de otra manera si todos se conectan en paralelo sumarìan 3000f. Es mi humilde opinión.

    • Es porque cada capacitor es de 2.7V. Él puso 3 pares en serie cada uno, para que cada par sume 5.4V ya que se requieren +/-5V para cargar celulares. Luego combinó cada par en paralelo para triplicar el amperaje de cada capacitor. Para mi es una mala idea usar capacitores para crear un banco de carga. La capacitancia es terrible y no carga lo suficiente. Lo mejor para crear un banco de esos es hacerlo con baterías de litio.

  • I think that the busbar/wiring used wouldn’t be able to withstand any serious current draw, but 1500F@5.4v is not an insignificant amount of energy storage in a light package.

  • Okay, but why would you do that though? These capacitors are big, expensive, and don't hold as much energy as a cheap lithium cell. Also, those charging boards are definitely meant for a lithium battery so I'd be hesitant to use it with a capacitor. While supercapacitors are great, this is not a good application for them.

    • @@stellapeters1507 so you want to make a solar charger for a power bank? You'll need a diode to prevent voltage from draining out of the battery while charging, an inductor to smooth out amperage, and a capacitor to smooth out voltage. I'll try to make a video and show you as soon as I get a chance.

  • People misunderstand what supercapacitors are really used for. Supercapacitors work best in parallel with the battery to smooth the sharp energy demand and to capture regenerative energy quickly.

    • I use them as a buffer to capture energy fast and then using to charge battery so from solar panel directly to capacitor would work great and then to battery. The super caps don't waste energy and discharge slowly this way..

  • How many mAh us this HUGE power bank? Please measure for us. (It’s easy to do). Less than 10,000mAh? So it’s way bigger and way more expensive than a conventional power bank. And it won’t charge your phone any faster... And, even though you COULD charge the capacitor bank faster than a battery power bank, your circuitry will charge it at the same old 1A rate.

    • The capacitors is connected in parallel so it is re/discharging 5.4v or less but has more storage capacity, the USB PORT or circuit board installed here has amp/volt controlling unit before it delivers to to USB cable, so BIG NO, that it will damage your phone!
