Ok, shut it down everyone, this is the most authentic restoration I've ever seen.
Gotta get his recipe for that japanning, some top level stuff here 🤌
@HandToolRescue Was hoping to see your submission for the AF video this morning. 😂
He really honored the ancient process with technique
Authentic and sensual, wouldn’t you say?
Hola rey. Te amo
This video was an absolute rollercoaster. At first i was sure you were just going to fold it like laundry into a joke item, but then you actually drew the blade out. Then you demolish the grip, and i back to thinking "ok this is a joke video" but end up casting it in resin and finishing it properly. My feelings are all over the place but i'd still love to have this on my kitchen table.
I laughed really, really hard when he folded the blade in and then when he went after the little tang I just chuckled; probably the best April Fools video I've seen today!
Such a truly authentic restoration, executed with great respect for the original knife. Historically accurate and meticulously sourced through scientific methods. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
This is one of the best April fools' joke I've ever seen. Great job 😁
Slightly disappointed that you didn’t clone a tree from the old handle to make the new one, but I guess everyone had to start at level 1 with these restorations
This has to be the most creative use of an old knife and all its parts that I have seen to date - you truly are a master blacksmith
Damn I bet the finished product is exactly what that knife looked like when it came out of the packet new.
I have no words to say how beautiful your work was. As we say here in Brazil: YOU KILLED IT! Congratulations .
People just aren't getting the April Fools part of this 😂 great job black beard!
Likely because this video lacks the prerequisites for a joke like having a punchline or being funny.
@@chrisswanton5043 "Joke:" Something said or done for amusement, not in seriousness. Nothing in the definition of "joke" actually says it has to be "funny", or have a "punchline".
Rather than just to restore, you manage to make new one from trash. Superb!
My Honda Civic is actually a restored '57 Chevy. True story!
he was cooking with the handle though that is baller
Not what I expected, but epic upcycling!!!
Truley became one with the knife. Nice restoration.
You forgot to make tea on the glowing folded steel.
Amazing how much the finished restoration looks like the knife must have the day it came from the factory 273 years ago.
You just took restoration to a whole new level and I FRICKEN LOVE IT!!
Truly authentic with pure traditional ancient forging techniques. Wow
I did NOT see the folding the blade on itself thing coming! Awesome job.
Oh man. that brought me to tears. You're an artist my friend. All of the those other restoration channel as just bollocks. This is a real resto
You fooled me! Between you and the Lock Picking Lawyer you've made my April 1st.
Ah man, I have missed your restoration videos. Thank you so much for this, BBP!!
Best restoration I've seen in years.
i hate how much i love this video
I love what you did with the old handle! Great restoration! Thank you! 🤟🤟🤟
Outstanding workmanship 👏👏
I love the delicacy and the true craftsmanship of your work. Good job! 💯
The most typical knife restoration.
Great work as always!
Not so much a restoration as a reimagining! Good job!
This video is proof that even when you try to obliterate an object - and you sure tried to trash it - it still comes out way better than many restorations being posted on YT. How much fun was it to smash the handle to pieces.
I've never seen a "restoration" where you completely change everything on the knife. I love how you essentially made damascus minus the multiple types of steel. Very cool idea!
It's an April fools joke
You did an amazing job saving this pin, and making sure the knife fitted its new size. Well done 😂
The new knife turned out nice
A new refreshing take on restoration, well done.
Very creative with the handle.
Best April fools project ever!
I always forget the whole joke on april 1st thing. Authentic restoration equals making a new knife LOL
What a great video! Start with whaaat? and then ah OK! And then keeps giving! The handle at the end! Whoa! Thank you for the experience
Incredeble work of art
It was an excellent job
Looks legit
I really like the final result. Thanks Black Beard and keep up the good work.
yeah ngl, forgot it was april fools. threw it in the forge i was like: oh that seems a bit harsh but maybe you have to reshape or anneal it? then the hammer came out and i was like: oh my god what? no! great work as always!
Bom trabalho para você
Good as new now!
Very nice I like the glowing handle thanks for sharing this six stars brother
I ain't even mad.
Brilliant! ❤
Black Bread does it again. Awesome restoration of this knife. Two thumbs way up 👍👍
If you can make more video like this one please. Making a knife with it metal is a great idea. More you add a resign/wood handle!!! I love it!!!!😁😁😄
Flawless!
i think it looks better as intendet
You definitely had some different idea’s on this knife, creating something new, that just shows your talent .great video, just continue doing what you do best and carry on.😎😎😎👍👍👍
Sorry, but this is not a restoration, but a new building. That was my first thought. But since it's the first of April, I quickly missed it. It's good work from you again.
Good job
Nice april's fool 👍👍. You had me right till the end, where you called it. Thought, you made the meanest graveyard damaskus, with no coldshots.
Haha great job! 😉
Super ! 👍👏👏👏😉
I randomly decided to search restoration and your video upload from 5 mins ago showed up : )
ahahahahh you had me with the description
Nice
Brilliant 😂👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻
Grande! Bravo!👏👏👏👍
Nice !!
serious question: i often see craftsmen using borax while folding the metal. Why he didnt used it or is there special usecases for?
Very nice
Well knife is as good as new, so I guess restoration was a success.
Nice one!
Can you talk My Mechanics into coming back and making videos again? I remember when he made your power hammer dies.
this was a very conservative restoration, well done! 👀 😂🎉
Thanks for the great Video!!!!!
Lots of love from ❤Bangladesh ❤
Hello mister beautiful knife Beautifully made good job well done
Authentic and Conservative got lost, but we got a perfect fools day knife making video. Thank you sir.
Hmmm. Seems more like demolition than restoration.
April FOOOOOOLS
@@Wuzzup129 Thank goodness...
We can rebuild it. We have the technology. We can make it better, than it was. Better, stronger, faster.
Damn it april fools, you got me again!!!!!!!!
Nifty!
April Fools Day 2025: Tutorial of how to sharpen a knife, but every other step is to go back to the grinder and take more material off until there’s no knife left.
Given today's date, I truly hoped that you were going to do all the trouble of reforging it right back into the same shape. I would have laughed my ass right off.
ma strabello!!! Idea ganzissima!
Long time to see your restoration
Restaurada faca 🔪😉
Me too I'm restored my bike...now looks like a truck...
It looks beautiful!! And you did a wonderful job making but I wouldn't call it restoring it. I enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up
I forgot what day it was.
Wooooow mate, nice work! Do you sell that knife?
Hey the title does say 100% in it so it has to be good
Stalvolta speravo tu provassi l'affilatura della lama sui peli dell'avambraccio come una volta... 😁
Just like new 😂
Magnifique 😍
Love it, "restoration" 😂, I thought you were burning scale off or annealing it when you first chucked it in the forge
I love the slightly unhinged April 1st content. This is quality.
