Steve Jobs & Bill Gates interview 2007

This is brief summary of the Steve Jobs, interview in 2007. Its great even to see the two titan of the industry discuss about their companies and future of the Technology industry. Arguably, Steve is the one who steals the show by his simple wholistic and touch and feel description of the era gone by and the position of apple, and issue of the future, while Bill is the typical, Microsoft manager still selling his company.

    • I respect Jobs, but there's something to be said about someone who's not at all a good speaker, presenter, socialiser, etc yet is still wildly successful. That's a sign that they got there through sheer talent, achievement and ability in what they do. That's Bill.

      @brup123@brup123 Жыл бұрын
    • @@brup123 Steve was the inventor, Bill was the refiner. Thats how I see the two. Steve can see within the abstraction how a quirk or feature can be applicable. Bill is the guy that will study it down to the last binary in the API to refine it the best he can. And also try to sell it. I def give Steve Jobs way more respect. But that also doesnt take away Bill's talent and achievements.

    • @@mrgarybusey2052 Steve Jobs was not an inventor but a businessman, he was not technical and depended heavily on Steve Wozniak for the technical skill. He would glam up his product to make the sale just like any businessman would even if the product had major flaws. In the case of Bill I do see him as the refiner since most of the things he worked on closely resembled existing software but made to work on PCs that new consumers would be able to afford.

    • Oh believe me, they had a rivalry, that in the earlier years was fierce. But that rivalry, two young guys wanting to be better than the other young guy (and both wanting to absolutely destroy the old guard) pushed them on. It was only in the later years as they both aged and mellowed out that they could see they had more in common than differences even if their demeanors couldnt have been any more different.

He wasn't a great musician, but a great conductor. Yet at the same time I have alot of respect for Bill Gates. I'd say he was a great musician, a multi-instrumentalist. Not as good a conductor as Jobs, but not bad. Together they made us more productive and efficient.

    • TV - promos: - stealing, - killing, - lying, - fornications, - destroying, - hate, - jealously, - un educated, - giving up thinking skills, allowing the thinking to be done by others, - giving up ones health, - fear. In short: Tv promos useing humans sinful nature against them, calling them to sin 24/7/365 until death. Tv promos to be as the father of lies, lucifer: John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. Who give us the TV and all other technical garbage? - the old devil through his puppets with different faces and names did. Once someone said like this: - you say you are good person? - then count the days you have been alone, away from other souls of humans and away from technical garbage, (TVs, phones,) , just you and nature. A soul who mange to live on their own without others nor the world, is the only one who can answer the question of :how good of a person they are. Cause you being good ain´t valued alone of how many and how you can help others. How good of a person you are also lays in your mindset, your though, how pure or unsure these are. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • Both great companies, you may pick your poison of devices, but both are great in their own ways. I am a PC guy, but I am literally typing on a Macbook Pro M2 14 right now deciding if I want to make the switch. I love Microsoft OS, and I love Apple's devices. Apple does so well with integrating everything together, as a windows user, I am pretty jealous so far. I have 1 more week to decide if I am going to keep this Apple machine, it's been a game changer, won't lie. Quiet machine, doesn't get hot and just feel so good. I feel like I am throwing my Microsoft card away, and that's where the rub is for me lol

  • Jobs was actually one of the very few "self-made men" of modern business lore who wasn't in reality gifted his initial fortune and infrastructure by a wealthy and influential father (as Bill Gates was). However, he benefited immensely from the other main "secret of success" that enables such people, namely the entirely unnatural and inexplicable pandering to his every whim by all of the individuals and institutions that he had dealings with during his life.
