Christopher Plummer was right. Fincher absolutely should’ve won both Best Picture and Best Director for The Social Network.
@iDontCare Tom Hooper/The King’s Speech
@@jman8449 An absolutely forgettable film by comparison. No-one will look back at the kings speech in years to come as any great achievement
Christopher Plummer also said Terrence Malick should get a better writer, which he should of been slapped fkr
@@gazman9468most people don’t even remember or know about that movie nowadays
The people who hate David Fincher the most are the boom mic operators.
😂
There is a great bit in an Actors Roundtable where Brian Cox offers a different take on the matter. Which is kind of what Tyler Perry also said. The first 10 takes are about ironing technical stuff and only later on he starts noticing the acting. Which means that rehearsal was not part of the process and they have to find the scene on the day. So it does make sense and I can't imagine how you can do less takes. Look it up.
Funny total contrast to the killer with Michael Fassbender - just one precise take
Sounds like deep down most of them don't like that many takes approach
I can see how it can be taxing for a lot of actors, but I also get being in the editing room and not having what you need/want
I think they all find it tiring (as it must be), but they all seem to respect Fincher’s brilliance even if they don’t love doing a zillion takes
does that sound like that old dude stanley...keep you're work comming to us phlebs fincher❤
Glad none of them ever worked with kubrick.. if they think fincher took too many takes. 😂😂😂
I can understand it being frustrating particularly if you're not the star being paid millions but most reasonable actors would realise that they're incredibly lucky to be appearing in a David Fincher movie because you know chances are it's going to be your legacy in terms of pop culture
No doubt that Fincher is a master filmmaker, but really, doing a hundred or so takes is way toooooooo much!
Fincher basically broke Gyllenhaal when filming Zodiac. He's a great director who's too much of a perfectionist. The introduction of great VFX and digital film has exacerbated his issues with doing too many takes.
I love his adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo but his perfectionism did make that movie cost too much to make, which ultimately meant we couldn't get the other movies.
@@reptongeek only reason we wanted the sequels is because of his perfectionism. catch-22
@@chemick606 True
I mean Gyllenhaal went on to do Nightcrawler which is arguably his best performance so idk if it "broke" him
Average people do the same repetitive job every day for years and years for low pay. Actors do it for David Fincher for six months, get paid millions of dollars and they hate it. It's Fincher's film with his vision and he knows what he wants. What he doesn't want anything he considers substandard on his resume.
I find his films nice to look at but most of them leave me feeling cold - I think panic room is my favourite of his
More of a Transformers fan?
We need a body bag over here
@@chriswright4677 Ya because anyone who doesn’t like a director as much as everybody else is a transformers fan…. Pretentious prick
Watch Benjamin button, easily his most emotional movie
ici
Fincher said it these ppl are being paid MILLIONs of dollars to talk on screen why get them out of their as fast as possible.. they can handle a few dozen takes lol
Fincher gets his money’s worth thats for sure! Lol
