In 2k some kid got mad at me for abusing Curry in the post with Magic. When in reality that's exactly how that matchup would go.
Thats those 2k dummys even they get mad when u run ben simmons at PG but thats the position he play in real life
I have abused MJ so many times on kyrie, since price is pg. Sometimes people put lbj on mj, then i abuse pippen.
i think klay or iggy woulda guarded him
It’s a fucking video game, dumbass. How is that even remotely close to reality.
Kids aren’t used to that style of basketball. They grew up in the modern age where all shots are created with handles at the perimeter. Teach em!
Thank you Magic Johnson for everything you did for the Lakers.
Your welcome
Down 15 in Boston Gardens he helps them come back and finishes with a running right handed hook shot over 6'10" McHale and 7' Robert Parish. Legendary.
Bird was there too!
Considering what he did as rookie in Finals against the Sixers jumping center in the final game, he never ceases to amaze in the big moments. Just legendary.
The lob to Kareem and the finish with 30 seconds left is not talked about enough 🔥
I have never seen a point guard control and manage a game as well as magic Johnson
Magic Johnson is the best point guard in Nba history
To me the GOAT also

Perfectly play by magic. Had he missed the baby hook, Kareem was right there to slam in the offensive rebound.
I saw that the same way. Magic sucked that defense in and Cap was right there to finish had he missed. Not that there was any doubt right? lol :)

I remember this game - as a young girl I loved basketball (and still do) - Lakers were my favorite team as they are still today. Nothing like this team - Magic, AC Green Worthy, Kareem, etc. -

The greatest play in sports history!
Greatest PG EVER.... nd drafted the upcoming 1 . Quote dat!!!! 💛💜
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Imagine these 2 teams at their peaks playing against the Jordan/Pippen/Rodman/Kukoc crew.🏀
Both the Lakers & Celtics were better teams: Mainly because of the Center/ frontline: Rodman/Longley/Kukoc could not match up with Kareem/Magic/Worthy/AC Green (All 4 guys are 6 ft 9 or above) Jordan and Pippen are 6 ft 7 and under. Dennis Johnson, Cedric Maxwell can at least keep up with Jordan and Pippen....but the Bulls would not be able to answer Parrish & McHale or Worthy/Kareem/Magic down in the post. YES it might be a 7 game series - but I would say 7 of 10 times the Celtics/Lakers would beat those 90s Bulls. Rodman played vs. Boston around 1988 in the playoffs: He was limited to less than 4 rebounds per game (that's what happens when you play against one of the best frontlines in history: Parrish, Bird, McHale The 80s teams had more depth than Jordan's teams: Larry Bird, McHale, Parrish, Walton, DJ, Ainge, Henderson etc. etc Bulls: Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, Longley, Kukoc, BJ Armstrong, Jud Buechler, Bill Wennington, Steve Kerr Parrish / Mchale & Kareem/Magic/Worthy would be the huge difference makers - Jordan and Pippen cannot do everything.... Jordan/Pippen etc can get steals and ignite fast breaks ... but if Boston takes care of the ball, slows it down into a half - court game..... no I don't see the Bulls scoring enough out of the half-court set to match up and win a 7 game series. Even the Bulls could not keep up with Magic, Kareem and THAT Showtime fast break. (Remember when the bulls beat Magic, Kareem was already retired, Worthy was hurt most of the series, ... it just wasn't the same team with Cooper, Kareem, AC Green) " Size & Skill beats Small-Skilled every time. You can't grow enough to guard me" - Kevin McHale McHale would get the ball in the post vs. Rodman, Cartwright, Longley, Kukoc etc and score most every time.
You summed it up perfectly. I tell people all the time. Those Laker and Celtic teams would whoop MJs Bulls. So would the 83’ Sixers.
@@MrLarryLessor Dennis Rodman was a hall of fame rebounder and defender. He guarded a prime Shaq. He could absolutely defend Kevin McHale. Scottie Pippen could absolutely defend Larry Bird.
You can't because Rodman was on the Pistons during the 80's when Jordan couldn't win anything. The Bulls are a product of the 90's. Their success is in relationship to the destruction of the disappearing great 80's teams of Celtics, Lakers and Pistons. And I wouldn't count the 91 Pistons and Lakers as the same teams as they were in the 80's. Injury depleted teams.
@@wpl8275 Your argument is weakened by the fact that the 91 Pistons were defending champs - they had all their starters and none of them were out with injury... The Bulls in 91 were just ready for Detroit - they were faster, fearless than the PIstons. That's why Chicago swept in 91. Isiah admitted it: Years later or after 91 he admitted, "JOrdan looked at me like "What you have, I'm taking it" and Isaiah said that look "scared me". The Bulls were by 91 a very good team - were they an all time elite team like the 87 Lakers or 83 Sixers or 86 Celtics? Maybe not. BUt they were still champions - Horace Grant was underrated as an offensive player - he was an excellent athlete/ defender (even though he doesn't get HOF recognition like Rodman.) I agree that the 90s Bulls were overall a weaker team than the early 80s / mid 80s teams because they didn't have the frontcourt that would probably be needed to compete with Kareem, Moses, prime Parrish/McHale etc. But the Pistons were tough and the BUlls were right there battling with Detroit all those years. It's too easy to make dismissive generalizations. That was a golden era of NBA - Now you don't even have 3 teams in each conference that are deep at the level of the mid-80s teams. Stars today are looking for MVP awards, more money, more endorsements, fighting for social causes etc (whether its Kyrie trying to take a stand about masks or complaining about police brutality ) - a lot of the players today have lost the focus on winning the Chip every year. Hopefully GIannis, Embiied, Doncic, JOkic can make their teams really elite so we get that high level of basketball back.

Game 4 of the 1987 NBA Finals The Lakers VS Celtics

3:23 crazy oop by Magic. Kareem gets by Chief and yams on DJ. That pass though
Soon as it cut to Larry in the corner with the game on the line I was like oh shit this is going in.
Yano honestly I know back then it was more physical but tbh its not as rough as people are making it seem. Of course you could get away with a lot more but at the same time you could get slightly bumped and still called for a foul.
It was much easier to score because of the illegal defense rule..look at magics post ups, defenders couldn't help in the lane.

You listen to these guys talk about the physical game back then and you’d be expecting guys to get rocked in the jaw bringing the ball up. All I saw was a guy with a lot of space and very little ball pressure going 1 on 1
That's the reality. The defense that they talk about from back then is a myth
@@emmanuelmoses7249 yes, one game proves that. Damn you're an idiot

Let's take Jordan vs Boston in the playoffs, he wasn't hit or knocked down not one time that game on his way to 63 points...But the myth tells us that when guys went to the hoop they were met with physicality, yet the best team in the league didn't hit a young MJ ONE TIME in the playoffs? Open your eyes lol
@@emmanuelmoses7249 you’re basing that off of one game though. Every NBA game from 80-96 the no easy lay ups unspoken rule was really a thing. No one got body slammed every time but when a smaller guard attacked the basket he was gonna get touched up some
@@KDubb-ws9zc You say I'm basing it off of one game.. it's a playoff game against the best team in the NBA. The man gave them 60, mostly all in the paint, & he wasn't hit not one time.. Shoot even in this video we're communicating under, Magic was never hit. The original comment points this out. There's plenty of other games I've watched where nobody got hit, just kept scoring in the paint whenever they pleased. So this unspoken rule you speak of is a myth. Plain and simple. Doesn't mean there was NEVER any physicality, ofcourse there was..But it's overblown.

Black Skip Bayless his jumpshot is 1 of top jumpshots of all time
That's his weakness. But having no perimeter jumpshot works in his era, because it's all about the paint. But I think if he played in this modern 3 point spacing era, he would have worked on his jumpshot more because he would do anything to win. Same for Jason Kidd, who improved his jumpshot later in his career. Can't say the same yet for Giannis Antetokounmpo and Ben Simmons, right now it's their weakness.
