  • Thanks for this. I have really improved by feeling that the position and structure of my arms at the top of the backswing is actually very similar/same as the position at impact. i.e. it's simply a body turn back to the point the hands are just past the ball on the downswing, then release everything and keep turning (which actually happens naturally because you cant stop the force of the club releasing). However, whilst this really helped MASSIVELY with contact, I have been pulling the ball. Your instruction here has helped - now I have added the feel of the right wrist back and the right arm internally rotated ("facing up") on the downswing. Has really straightened out the path for me.

Of all the players swings, both professional and amateur, yours is the one I would most like to replicate. It’s both powerful but effortless. At least it looks that way. I’m looking forward to hitting the range and working on what you’ve shown. I have a divot board that I use and can already see a difference with doing half swings. Many thanks!

  • Great Video. I keep my right elbow good and tucked and can shallow the club decent but I struggle with not enough shaft lean. I feel it maybe a weight shift issue. Maybe left arm. I also struggle with having a straight right leg at the top. Maybe that leads to the shaft lean issue. I don't struggle with contact tho.

    @twigs9070@twigs90709 ай бұрын
    • Shaft lean is a process. You need to work on the correct elements for a couple of months it won’t happen in a couple of hours. Unfortunately people don’t know this. So they go around in circles in the internet not really knowing what causes what jumping from video to video and never reach their potential. We have the most detailed start lean and compression series on World 🌎 Class Golf Instruction worldclassgolf.com We don’t show it all on youtube. But the series is the most detailed evidence based you will ever see. The feedback for is has been overwhelming. its not all in youtube. We have 85 series 1300+ videos.

  • i have been playing so bad this past Summer that I was planning on calling it quits. Sure others know this awful feeling, it is dreadful. I was hitting shots a trick artist could not pull off. Anyways, I have been starting my swing by rotating my hands & did not realize it until I saw this video. At the 1st position my trail hand facing up & lead hand facing behind me! My goodness where do I get these bad habits. I ordered the hanger yesterday but just watching this & doing that first move was enlightening. It really does put you in a great position for the rest of the swing. I Thank You tons!

  • I think I had a break through (we'll see ...). But the tennis racket with the bullseye facing away, was a big clue for me. I never understood how you can make shaft lean at impact. But this is what I'm feeling now. With the right wrist in the correct position, I feel I can ROTATE into the back of the ball, against my left side, and my right is striking into/against the (posted up) left. It just seem I have more room to move in now. Is that what I'm looking for? Seems to work, in my garage anyway. :)

  • I'm by no means a qualified anything other than a dude who loves but still sucks at golf However I feel like I finally realized what Mike Malaska and a couple Golf gurus talk about when they say whatever you take out you have to put back What that feels like to me, or makes sense to me which is going to be different for almost everyone is loading my hand and wrist properly and then honestly feeling like it doesn't do anything else but realease from my body pivot and turning properly and general -swinging normally. The only thing I think about as soon as I move away or start moving the club head away is taking out the extra wrist hinge and then I don't 'feel/quiet hands' much else. From there my sensory (eyes) and just general ability to swing back to where I started from takes over. But I'm right hand dominant and have a lot of issues with my left hand so take it for what it is No one will ever convince me differently... Club face is king. You have to load it properly for your grip. Once you do that, that's when you turn up speed and torque etc

  • Absolutely correct with wrist angles- however, creating those movements at speed when the club is applying force is so difficult. Positions will sell the hanger, swingyde, etc, but the relaxation of the arms is the only thing that makes those moves work. Don’t see a lot of that discussed.

  • I’ve been struggling bad with blocking shots and at times, pulling them. I had a guy analyze my swing and he said I’ve been coming down too steep and said I should practice coming down more shallow. It has been a long and hard process. I’m a +1 handicap, and I definitely have the ability to get way better if I can solve this steep downswing. I hope this video helps when the snow melts!

  • As usual, very well explained. Any hope for a guy who can only about half supinate the right forearm and has zero extension with the right wrist (surgery result)? Having the right hand grip way down in the fingers lets me get to some "reasonable" positions. Any other obvious, simple mods come to mind? Perfect shots still occur sometimes. (Well, for a 70 year old. 🙂) BTW, getting to a flat left wrist feels icky, but if drilling for it is valuable enough, I guess I'd do it. 🙂

    • It’s a tough one. I don’t know if i have the exact answer. It would probably be something i’d have to see live to completely understand. I don’t have any external rotation in my right shoulder i know how hard that can make shallowing the club. We do our best 💪

    • @@CraigHansonGolf Thank you *so* much! Wasn't expecting a miracle (nor such a quick, thoughtful reply), but thought it best to make sure there wasn't something "simple and obvious" that I was missing. 🙂 Going lefty would make the most sense, but folks I've known about and observed (painfully) in the tennis world who have done that - and my absolute lack of ambidexterity - ruled that out quickly. 🙂

      @mntlblok@mntlblok9 ай бұрын
    • I shall now press my luck. 🙂 I use a lot of video in attempting to make swing changes, so I have a pretty good idea about what's going on. I've not gotten a good answer for, nor understanding of *why*, when I *do* come from the inside, my "divot board"-type gadgetry proves that I start hitting "toe-shanks". Maybe it's just "excessively" from the inside. Have wondered if moving the ball up in my stance would allow the club-head to eventually "reach", but suspected that might throw fifteen other relationships out of whack. Have also never seen this addressed in the million and a half KZhead lessons I've watched. 🙂

      @mntlblok@mntlblok9 ай бұрын
  • It is internal rotation of the upper arm and supination of the right forearm as it swings in. That gives it the illusion of external rotation. If you go external as the right arm swings from the socket you get stuck under. You are right that whatever terms you use, this is the key move.
