  • Lay is one of the biggest artists in China. He does have a few songs that are completely or mostly in English as well; while he does rap a lot, he also has an amazing singing voice. The 'Lit' video wasn't his introduction into the music scene, but it was the start of a new era and level in terms of production for him. He really is huge in China and owns his own production company and is on so many shows and involved in so many things. It's funny you mentioned Jackson Wang being a Chinese artist that works in kpop, because Lay is as well; he is a member of the kpop group EXO, though in recent years he has been largely inactive due to his status in China and the tensions between China and South Korea.

  • Lay is an Outstanding artist. He's an actor since childhood, a singer who debuted as a member of the kpop Group EXO who are called the vocal kings, Lay is also called a dancing machine. He's also a model and brand ambassador for many famous brands. He's a rapper, singer, dancer, producer,composer and song writer. he owns an entertainment company in China. He's also referred to as the king of China just how he said in the mv. Actually this mv was released for the haters. Usually in China, Lotus is used as a slang and haters reffered to Lay as lotus. But Lay showed in the mv (if you read the lyrics again) that he grew up from the mud but he's the king of music industry also he's representing China to the world like none. Please react to more of his songs plus Exo. Exo are the best group of kpop who opened the door for kpop groups that u see now. They are also releasing new album on 10th July. Lay is one of the biggest artist in China, he is also the 9th member of the Korean MEGA Group EXO, though he has his own Label (DNA) in China and has only promoted there, he remains a fan favorite for his original group EXO. Please check them out as well. He is also a multi-product brand ambassador in China as well.

  • Love his song Grandma (Waibo) which was super cute and sweet. Also Honey and Namanana. If you wanna see him in stuff with EXO, look into their earlier stuff. Growl, Don't Go, Peter Pan, Promise (Which was a super important song) and Black Pearl. His most recent activity with EXO would be the MV and album Don't Fight the Feeling, which he was featured in the MV and sang on every song in the album. (We were so freakin happy)

  • Love your reaction! Thank you for reacting to LAY. His Chinese name is Zhang Yixing, so, if you look at the credits, this mv was produced by his studio. Yeah ^^ As he's matured as an artist, he doesn't really speak about it anymore, but in earlier interview, Jackson did say that Lay is someone he admires and looks up to ^^ If you have time for another traditionally inspired song, i hope you can check out Lay's "Flying Apsaras". The visualizer (40sec long) and the dance practice for the full song. It's really something different😊

  • #LayZhang is early 3rd gen artist and is 31 years old now, me and him were born in the same year but im a few months older. He is part of #EXO group on a now semi basis because of his overly busy schedules in china plus not being allowed to participate with group activities and has been having to promote EXO very lowkey throughout his music as a solo artist since making his solo debut in Oct 2016. He also founded his own music label and one of the biggest known representing CPOP artist of CHINA which also means that his government continuously watches him like a hawk (downright control freak bullies) so if they don’t agree or like something he does … they could literally turn his world upside down for something so minor such as comment and so on.
