ABANDONED Cadillac DeVille will it run after 20 years and DRIVE HOME? - Vice Grip Garage EP70
A guy stumbled upon a rare white on white Hardtop 1970 Cadillac Sedan Deville! A bonus is it's full of original equipment, right down to the floor mats, spare, and more. The only problem, of course, is that it's been sunk in a valley bottom all the way to the frame for 20 years and hasn't moved since it was parked. The plan? I don't have one, other than finding out if this old sleeping giant will start and run again, and drive me home. Above and beyond because it's what a guy enjoys doing (saving classics from rotting or getting crushed), it's out of necessity. After wind, rain, broken camera equipment - my service truck also breaks down leaving me no choice but to make this land yacht my ride home!

Who else is re-watching this for the 2nd, 3rd, or 8th time? Love this vid.
Yup this is a good one. Gran Torino is fun too. Of course the Independence
This is probably one of my favourites. Love the De Ville. And it's a feature length video too. A guy could just get some cold snacks and get comfy and watch a guy get an old Caddy going. 😎
At least my 10th time...
This is the first vgg I ever watched earlier spring of 2020 just out of the blue watched it 2nd what classic 🍻
If I'm having a bad day I'll stop what I'm doing and watch it
That was more entertainment than Hollywood has produced in 15 years.
Wow, thank you
Hollywood still makes "entertainment".... I thought it was just brainwashing propaganda..
This beat the transformers franchise that’s just a fact.

Agree. I don't think that was a light, but perhaps some kind of 12v meth pipe lol.
I always appreciate Derek's calm, cool and collected demeanor and mood throughout the many obstacles that occur during his automotive mechanical/operational recoveries. his sense of humor is also very good-natured. You rock, Derek!
Agreed Hes mastered most of it and always tickled when he learns a new trick. I can relate to that

I think people have intentions... but laziness just gets the better of them as they procrastinate. It is a cryin' shame, but hey it gives the rest of us vehicles to rescue. Is there any better pass time in all the world? And Derek has made a living out of it -- more power to him!

It's gone 1am here in the uk and I'm watching these awesome videos. Honestly the content is quite brilliant, and the comedy timing is excellent. Having had my share of classic cars I certainly appreciate your work
This was the first VGG episode I watched because I too found my own 1969 Cadillac Coupe Deville "Betty White" outside a barn in MA. I want to thank you for sparking my need to get out there and appreciate and rejuvenate classics left for dead.
I'm both laughing and crying at this video. I'm a 65 year old woman, and this was our family car in 1975-1980. My father was born in 1911 and had a full service garage. He adored the engineering of Cadillacs. Thank you for caring about this wonderful old car. It's worth restoring, I think. Vice Grip Garage, you have the passion and the knowledge to do it. Plus the youth to do it. Do you think you'll restore her?
They had a live stream vehicle fleet update this past week. He mentioned the possibility of a restoration and maybe power tour next year for the Caddy..that would be cool.
@@Stahodad honestly with the amount of video hits he's gotten from that Cadillac, I think that's all the proof he needs that people want to see it happen.
My brother was in Nam and he bought my mom the 68 DeVille with his Hazardous Duty pay.. she loved that ole boat!!
Respectfully, I don't think it'll need a full restoration, it looks really straight and mostly rust free. After all mechanical/electrical repairs, weld in some patch panels on the lower front fenders maybe, match up the paint, spot repair and paint , also other small sections. Then after a deep cleaning, polish and wax and that car will look awesome and have a great story to tell wearing it's mostly original finishes/patina, which would be lost with a full resto. Retain the character, I'd say. Great car! PS: Please don't put loud mufflers on this cream puff. This thing is supposed to be nice and quiet! There's room in this world for a big, quiet but powerful caddy!!!

Suddenly a loud 1970 Cadillac covered in mold goes flying past you at 90mph leaving a cloud of white smoke for miles. A few minutes later you drive past and see it sitting on the side of the road while he refills the passenger seat gas tank. Then a few miles down the interstate you hear it rumbling up behind you again 🤣🤣🤣. I've quit working on cars about 100 times.... Dang it
Another fantastic video friend! My great-grandfather had a early to mid 70 Fleetwood Brougham with the 500 cubic inch engine! I remember sneaking the keys out, pretty young, when id rev the engine the whole car would twist to the right! Great memories!
I LOVE 70’s Cadillac’s. We had a 1974 Hearse with the 472. Pump her twice and she’d start everytime. The design is just pure brilliance. I miss the 1974 we had.
This guy should be in the next "FARGO" sequel. He would steal the show.
He’s cool. A lot smarter than he wants you to think
Very much so
Yes he is
i think he is or was a real mechanic for however many years....
I really enjoy watching the old cars and the muscle work. Thanks
I had a '69 DeVille convertible with this same exact engine. Such a fun ride. It had five ashtrays. Simply amazing that he got this car to run after sitting for so long.
I was actually a nervous wreck for you! Meanwhile....the neighbors......"what the hell did he bring home now!?"
a guy was surprised when he pulled into that neighborhood. a guys thinkin maybe its an old family home or the wife picked it?
LadyJessica861 yeah, no brakes
My neighbours worry about me.... kzhead.info/sun/qrKTYa6baIF-lqs/bejne.html regards Paul
@@PaulDonovan mmmmm i'd be worried too, i hope its been de-armed lol ! i bet you get no neighbourhood disputes !
I've got five minutes to spare and then I'll come back to it later. An hour later I'm still watching, sitting here on the couch trying to talk myself out of starting another video. These are great. I'm not addicted, you are!
Thanks Brad
