    • I'm sure Penn is close to the mark about Trump, but he supports Biden and the Far Left, so why would he give an unbiased opinion? Penn was a callous Libertarian for a long time. These people tend to ignore imperfections in society and they are opposed to government initiatives to correct problems. Libertarians typically oppose the expansion of social programs and government intervention in the economy. They believe that private charities and voluntary actions are more effective in addressing social issues like homelessness. Sounds kind of heartless. Thanks Penn for you insight to Trump and your callousness. I do like Penn for his great job of tearing into religions and the elucidating the harms they do, though.

Yes, occasionally you run into some that are incredibly hostile if you give any indication of being a theist of any kind (ANTI-theist rather than Atheist), but overall I find those to be rare. One of my best friends in the world is an atheist, and we've had some very in-depth conversations about religion in general. It's never become hostile, or even heated. He's highly intelligent, well-spoken, and knows how to state an argument without attacking someone personally. It would be nice of more religious people were like him.

Sure, theres an extreme left at the moment pushing that 'Political correctness' gone mad and it seems like a big problem, when it really isnt and is made into a big deal by idiots... But the right has ALWAYS been there pushing their agenda and if anyone speaks out against it (eg. religion) then they are shut down (or at least they try). I believe MOST people arent left or right, but somewhere in the middle, but all the loud voices from extremes of both sides get the light shone on them cos they make the most noise, even if they are the minority. @sylviaowega3839@sylviaowega3839 Жыл бұрын
    • Well I speak with little filters, have throughout my career. People say they respect me for it, but professionally speaking it isn’t received well. Most folks don’t want the truth or honesty. They want you to conform to their belief system, be like them. They often consider personalities like mine, troubling, confrontational or weird. Now my wife and son, are totally different. Both go along to get along and don’t offer opinions usually. Both are loved by friends and coworkers and are well received in general. Both get promoted. So I’d say there is a price to pay for everything. Couldn’t tell you which is better personally. But professionally, as my friend says, my personality is a CEO type, because I do not follow anyone.

Speaking with no filters is not synonymous with speaking the truth, it is just speaking what's on one's mind. If the mind is squalid and shallow, so are those marvelously "unfiltered" words. So spare us the reflexive praise of speaking with no filters. It is usually the mark of the spoiled and self-absorbed, people suffocating with envy for whom inflicting hurt is supremely satisfying and always justifiable.

The average human is so wildly dull and ignorant, when the topic of an eccentric and intelligent person comes up, they usually are talked about as if they are from another planet. Sometimes this is a good thing, sometimes it's a bad thing. In the case of celebrities, it's all in how the media have conditioned normals to feels about these types (to love or hate them). Trump used to be loved before the media conditioned people to hate him.
